Great atmosphere and friendly staff, would recommend going there anytime. The place is sometimes crowded on weekends but still the crew still manage to get orders out as fast as possible.

You either like their food or you don’t. But what made me want to write a review was the wonderful customer service! Usually a place on a busy road near a college doesn’t have the most«I’m so excited to greet you» faces, but the lady taking our order hit it out of the ballpark! Nobody was after us, so we took our time ordering and in return, even made her laugh. On top of that, everything was clean, tasty, and problem free.

Staff was very kind and attentive. However, the food was kind of skimpy, and there was barely any lettuce on my burger. I also felt like I didn’t get the full amount of fries. I was expecting to have the usual overflowing bag of five guys fries, but that was not the case.

Absolutely the best Burger around for a chain restaurant Burger. I love the fries here also. They always come out super fresh and hot and I always get Cajun style. The service here is super friendly and the place is always super clean No matter How busy they are.

MAYBETHEBESTBURGERINTOWN I always feel guilty giving a fast food place five stars, but 5 Guys, does the burger biz right. The quality of their food and their friendly staff seems to be built into the business model and rivals Starbucks in terms of business consistency. Even at this location, in the heart of VCU, where one would expect service to slip because they’re used to serving students 24 – 7, it wasn’t the case here. Good job 5 Guys!

Let’s just say I’m not a fact food eater, and all the usual burger chain suspects give me chronic indigestion. No really! I will say I love Five Guys fries, as a Brit I like to think I know my «chips» and these are as good as any, and definitely better than that reconstituted stuff masquerading as something that was once a potato but now has a much taste as a down comforter which is what is dished up at every other burger chain. Last night two of us had bacon burgers and a regular fries between us, with one fountain drink, the bill came to $ 20.95. Not exactly cheap, but there are people who pay $ 5 just for a cup of coffee so… you be the judge. Nothing fancy, tables and chairs, good for family, busy at most times of day weekends in particular. Parking can get challenging . One word to those with nut allergies, Five Guys offers shelled peanuts to its customers while they wait for burgers. BE Warned if you or anyone in your party is allergic to peanuts don’t go here, there are often shells on the floor and peanut dust. I feel as if there ought to be a warning about posted on the door and there isn’t, especially since so many people have a peanut allergy. Good for takeout, you can order on line. No alcohol available. But decent food, and they don’t charge an extra 30 – 75 cents for each topping that you want.

It’s been a while since I’ve eaten here and it’s definitely just as good as I remembered it to be! The wait was not long at all, and my sandwich was very neatly put together, especially since I had so many toppings on it. Their fries are definitely one of the best and they always taste so fresh. I got the Cajun style fries which was very flavorful.

Five guys is an exceptionally bare bones eatery, no fancy presentation or booth seating just food. Everything has a cookout taste and a greasy bite, while this particular location let’s you sit in and enjoy the rumblings of broad street. With all that said FGs does raise there prices every so often, it’s still fairly reasonable but they could go down a tad. But all in all this is a great place to come for lunch or just catch some Down time.

You know when you’re smoking crack and you’re thinking«this is so amazing!» Then, immediately afterward, you feel bad. Horrible! Yeah, that’s about right. The burger tastes great, and you can load it up(yeah, we all know this part) to the point that it’ll get really messy! The fries are even better, and you’ll hammer them down your hole thinking«I need to stop. But I can’t!» They nailed it, and the staff is even friendly and reasonably good at their craft, as simple as it really is. But as you walk in, there’s that lingering doubt. I should have gone home and eaten anything else in the world, because my day is going to come to a screeching halt as soon as I open this greasy bag. And it will, regardless of how seasoned a junk-food eater you are. Now, I’m recovering over a bottle of scotch. Gotta get my vitamins up. 6 hours later, the haze is starting to clear… but I’ll probably skip dinner. I regret nothing!

Great burgers, and even the small size of fries is more than enough for one person! The employees were extremely friendly and got right on my order as soon as I placed it. The restaurant was kept conspicuously clean, which is quite impressive for a burger/fries place. I had the cheeseburger with mushrooms and bbq sauce and it was definitely the high point of my day(either a testament to the quality of their burgers or the ennui of my life). On top of the delicious ordered food, a bunch of free peanuts you can help yourself to is definitely a nice touch! If prices were just a bit lower, you’d see me here on a weekly basis. Overall: 4.0 stars — — — — - Pros: –Burgers are amazing, as the long list of testimonials can attest to. –French fry portions are extremely generous. –Friendly staff! –Floors clean enough to eat off of(seriously though, don’t do that). Cons: –Even sans drink, a burger and fries will put you past the $ 10 mark. Definitely not an everyday place to have lunch.

Not the same as the old King St location, but that’s because of the physical location. The burgers n Fries always hit the spot.

My coworkers poke fun because I bring tuna to work almost every day … but sometimes you get a craving for a nice burger and fountain drink. And Five Guys has always been there to fill that craving. Like anywhere at VCU, the line can go from nothing to 20 deep in about 30 seconds in-between classes. I love their grilled cheese also, which is made from hamburger buns.

Not a lot different than any other visit we have ever had, at any other 5 Guys over the last few years. Friendly enough staff. Hot, freshly cooked burgers and fries. Should have paid a little more attention to the gal who told us that some of the VCU students have been complaining about getting too many fries(I guess we are supposed to FedEx our uneaten food to some third world craphole, so these do-gooders can congratulate each other over Starbucks coffee)… didn’t pay attention to that. When our order arrived, our burgers were fine. We got a loosely filled cup of fries and a handful tossed in the bag, in top of everything. First time we ever have walked out of a Five Guys hungry. Great food. Eat an appetizer before you go here. Meh. @Removeyourhat

My brother and I usually go to Five Guys Burgers & Fries after basketball workouts. Five Guys Burgers & Fries dish out a good quality burger. The burger is made fresh while you wait. I like a fresh burger made to order. You can add a lot of toppings to your burger at Five Guys. The toppings range from onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapeño, tomatoes, and pickles to sauces(bbq, ketchup, and mustard).Theres a charge for extra bacon and cheese. The burger with the works is tasty. Make sure you have plenty of napkins because the burger with the works can be messy. The Cajun fries are delicious. The staff usually makes the fries once you place your order(so they are hot). A regular order of fries is enough for 2 or 3 people. The secret to give your fries the extra kick is adding malt vinegar. The beef hot dogs are tasty as well. You can add any toppings to your hot dog. This Five Guys Burgers & Fries is located on VCU campus. During the semester, the wait times are longer. While you wait customers can snack on peanuts. You may see peanut shells all over the place. It’s best to call ahead if you’re in a rush. There is street parking in front of the restaurant and hour parking behind(towing enforced). Five Guys Burgers & Fries is a good choice for a quality burger and fries.

This Five guys location is good but at times, since its on campus, can be very busy to a point that you would have to wait longer for a table then your food. For the most part the kitchen moves pretty fast and if your there just to grab your food and move on then there really isn’t much worry. The food is always good and YES the do drop extra fries into your bag unlike some other ones, *Coughcoughwillowlawncoughcough! Never been to one before, I suggest trying the smaller burgers before you move to the big boys, at least for me the little bacon burger with fries is pushing it and I split my fries usually with someone.

I really enjoyed the food here. The floor is atrociously dirty, but no matter. We ordered a regular cheeseburger(2 patties) and a little bacon cheeseburger(1 patty) with regular fries. Usually when I eat a burger, I feel really disgusting and fat afterwards, but their«little» version left me satisfied and not overly stuffed. You can add some toppings for free(lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc) and then some other toppings(jalapeño, for example) for a little bit extra. One order of fries was probably big enough to feed 3 people, we barely put a dent in ours. They come in a cup so it’s perfect to take on the go and snack on in the car. There are also big boxes of shelled peanuts which you can reach into and grab some for free. But don’t take them out of the store. Because other people have allergies. And they might sue Five Guys. I’m serious, that’s what it says on the box. Ok maybe not the last part, but I think it’s implied :)

Comparing Five Guys to In-N-Out is doing an injustice to both burger places. They are nothing alike except maybe in their décor bordering on cutesy. Five Guys offer fast, relatively cheap charbroiled burgers with some great, fresh toppings(grilled or raw jalapenos? yum!). I love that all of the toppings are free to add on, and the burger is pretty juicy and tasty. The fries are decent, but very uneven — since they’re natural cut fries, some get burned and others mushy. The service is nice and friendly, and parking is pretty plentiful out front(no drive through) if not during school hours. That being said, it’s great for gawking at undergrads.

I’ve been meaning to check this place out, but just didn’t get to it in San Diego(there’s one in North Island and Point Loma). If you like having good food and a large amount of fries, this is the place to get it. People like to compare this place to In & Out, but I believe it’s more like Fatburger minus the egg. My order: Cheesburger, Little hamburger(Girlfriend’s), and cajun fries. The difference between a cheesburger and little cheesburger are the patty’s. The cheesburger has two patty’s while it’s little brother only gets one. All the toppings are free and seem very fresh. I also like the fact that this place tells you where the meat is from. The burger was pretty good and pretty juicy. The cajun fries tasted great and there was a lot of it. People that work here are very friendly and the service is quick. The wait for my food wasn’t that long and they even have free peanuts to munch on for the wait. As far as the dining area, it seemed very clean and spacious. We had a group of five people so we combined two tables together to accommodate everyone. Overall the dining experience was great, but you can’t expect much from a fast food joint. It was clean and the employees are friendly and you can’t beat that. I’m giving this place four stars because of the great food and fast service. The price isn’t so bad as well. If your looking for some inexpensive and good food on the go or if your in a rush, this is place that you need to check out. That is if you like burgers and fries.

Bleh. I feel so insulted for In & Out that people keeps comparing Five Guys to them. I was expecting something similar after all the talk, but I don’t get it because the two places are totally different and the quality of food at In &Out is SO much better. Moving on… Five Guys is OK for a cheap fast-food burger, but its a far cry from the best burger I ever had. The only difference I see between Five Guys and McDonalds is that they use real hand-made patties and wrap it in tinfoil. Otherwise its basically your normal greasy fast food burger on a ridiculously smashed bun. Seriously why is the bun so smashed? Its really off putting to eat because it looks so unappetizing especially with the tiny peices of poorly cut lettuce falling off. You get a ton of fries, but they are kinda overcooked. The pain I felt in my stomach after trying to eat my burger didn’t help my opinion of the place either. I won’t be coming back.

So an east coast resident mentions, «Hey you guys have in-n-out on the west coast right?» «Yeah, we do.»… «You guys ain’t got shit on this place.» It sounds like dem fightin’ words, but lemme tell you, this place delivers. I will say its reminescent of In-n-out with its simple décor, use of fresh ingredients, pristine white colors, and fast service. That, my friends, is where the similarities end. Where in-n-out relies on the utmost simplicity, five guys lends itself to variety. The draw here is you have an extensive menu of toppings and brevy of sauces for your burger, that a free of charge… yes, free! Think of it like subway, but for burgers. I personally like the jalapeño, bbq sauce, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms and bacon– yes, this bacon is fresh, not that thin, pre cooked crap you get from jack in the crack. The burger itself is nothing like i’ve ever seen at a chain before. You dont have those uniform round frozen discs, these babies look handmade, lumps and all. Your«standard» burger is automatically 2 patties, you need to request a little burger if you want 1. Cheese and bacon cost extra, but believe me its worth it. The fries are mammoth. My friend said we could share one large for like 3 – 4 people, i was like please. She wasnt kidding, this mammoth cup came full to the brim in a bag, in which about a half cup more of fries laid at the bottom, wtf are you serious? If you have a choice, get the cajun. Last but not least, there are a few cardboard boxes completely FILLED with peanuts you can munch on for FREE. They also have my favorite, cherry coke, which CA seems to have shunned for god knows why. And while this is dependent on location, the employees were genuinely friendly… wish i could bring back just a hint of this magic to the bay area. Bottom Line: Lots of FREE stuff, fresh, delicious burgers, friendly service, ch… aww hell wtf are you reading this for, get going already.
