Best bead store in the area… and the staff is fantastic… helpful, attentive and full of creative ideas… no better selection of beads and all that goes with them around! Keep up the good work, you beady-eyed women!

My was I excited to find this little gem of a store tucked away in the Stony Point Shopping Center(off of Huguenot NOT the outdoor shopping mall). I must admit that I was a little overwhelmed on my first visit to the shop, but the sales associates are super knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you might have! All of the beads are organized by type and by color, making it very easy to navigate the sea of seemingly endless options. Not only does Fandangle Beads offer a wide array of semi-precious stones, seed beads, findings, and any material needed to create jewelry, but the staff also offers classes! I’ve never taken a class here but on more than one occasion I’ve been in the shop while a class was in session. Let me tell you, they know what they’re doing AND they know how to have fun while teaching. Word of advice: the pricetags don’t display the type of bead, but rather use a generic term such as «semi-precious stone». However, most of the beads have the name of the stone written on a small piece of paper at the back of each bead rack. Would I rather have«African prenite» or «Dyed yellow jade» written on the tag than have to dig through strands to find the actual name? Yes. Will this small inconvenience stop me from shopping at Fandangle? No way! I’ll just have to use my trusty iPhone to make note of the beads I purchase.

This place seems to have a decent pricing system which is hard to find in a bead store. They have lots of beads for sale individually, so you don’t have to buy a full strand when you only want one piece. I make tons of jewelry for my local storefront and will be returning to them for more great pieces. I did not find the staff incredibly helpful, but there is not much they could really advise me on at this point. My good friend and jewelry-crafter always talks about the wide selection of tools they have.
