Meatloaf, Egg Salad sandwich, Shenanigans Burger, and Chicken & Dumplings. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was fast and friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

This place is absolutely legit. Fantastic, speedy service, great food, good prices. Three dollar brunch drinks wuttttttttttt(we freak out in DC when it’s 5 and if they even serve cocktails!) Décor is this awesome homegrown DIY style that is just so unpretentious and authentic just like the food. This place puts dc’s renditions on southern and soul food to shame. bestest: catfish with cheese grits, to die for. Flavored just right, tender, crisp, cheesy, hot but not burning, perfect little eggy weggies. Yummy KFC-esque green beans with smoky ham flavor. Cornbread is hotttt and flavorful(Slather on that butter!) and so was the honey biscuit. Goodddd: blackened chicken salad. Not dry, flavorful but not overpowering, standard«house salad» mix. Not so good: coffee is watery but you can’t win at everything I guess!

I’ve passed this place lots of times and had never eaten here, I decided stop in with a friend. This place is small but quaint, the service was amazing and the food, simply delicious, I had the Rappahannock Benny which fried oysters over an English muffin, hollandaise sauce and poached eggs, yummy!

My boyfriend and I try to go here every Saturday. We’d go more often if they had longer hours during the week. We both haven’t found anything on the menu that we don’t like. Everything is always cooked perfectly and I love the variety. One of my favorites is the Rappahannock Benny. The oysters were very fresh and fried to perfection. The staff and owner are always so friendly and accommodating. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because they’re open such limited hours. I’d love to be able to grab dinner there after a long day at work.

They messed up a basic egg and cheese sandwich. When I told the waitress my egg was missing, she brought me a plate with a fried egg on it. No apologies or anything. Waitress was smug and condescending. Weird place.

I would give it a 4BUT, I’ve been 3 times and witnessed a few sanitation issues. On this occasion, a wait staff spilled a cup while busing a table.. She cleaned it, picked up the fallen ice from the floor with her hands and repositioned the rug on the floor. She then proceeded straight to the ice machine to transfer over ice. NOHANDWASHINGATALL, THENDELIVERED A MEALTO A TABLE. I decided to stay since I was with others. But, ordered my drink without ice. She is a seasoned waitress too. The menu is diverse and really represents richmond food culture… Price is great.

I’ve been here twice now, once for breakfast and once for lunch and both times were delicious! I love that I can get brunch right down the road. The fried green tomato pimento cheese eggs benny was SO good, the mimosa was a nice plus, and the staff/service is always great.

How have I not been here before?! It’s hidden off of Staples Mill Road, but it’s worth the hunt! The building is a bit dated, but they keep it clean and organized. The service was impeccable. Everyone was overwhelmingly nice. They offer brunch, which is why we decided to go here. They had many options on the menu and the server suggested a few for us to try. I had the pancakes, bacon, and tater tots. The portions were big and it was so good. I was very impressed.

This is my new favorite breakfast spot in Richmond. Now this may sound questionable, but they serve something they call a Catfish Benny — two toasted English muffin halves, topped with fried spicy catfish filets, topped with poached eggs, and finished with hollandaise sauce. Absolutely delicious. My wife had the Canadian Benny — same thing only with Canadian bacon instead of the catfish. Everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked great, so I’m not sure there is a bad choice on the rather expansive breakfast/lunch menu. The place is somewhat cramped inside so it fills up quickly on the weekends. There is also a nice outdoor patio for seating, weather permitting.

Eat 33 is good American food at a reasonable price. Service is friendly and quick. Don’t expect any design awards being won for their interior, but for a breakfast or lunch spot they’ll do you right ever time. They’ve got a lot of unique items on the menu that get your attention. This our go to place up the street we take folks to every time they’re in from out of town.

I went there today and must very disappointing. If you like plane food this is your place. No taste it just like something you cooked on the fly. Will not be returning. P.S fire to cook

I’ve eaten lunch here 5 or 6 times now and am definitely a fan. The food is always very good and well-prepared, and the service is fast and friendly. The lunch entrees do seem a little pricey but not outrageous. I like that they serve breakfast all day, though they close at 2pm so all day isn’t really all day, but I had some very good corned beef hash on my last visit that made me glad to work nearby. Oh, and one other thing… banana pudding. Yes, banana pudding. It’s full of bananas and crispy nilla wafers, made in-house and it’s delicious enough to order for both lunch and dessert.

Pretty cool little diner with an obvious neighborhood following. But they were more than happy to let an outsider come in an enjoy their fare. The menu had a lot to offer and DH and I took a little long than usual to make up our minds. But I ended up selecting the Smithfield Benny(one of many varieties of eggs benedict offered) and DH opted for the Chicken Fried Pork Chop as our brunch selections. I was all excited as I assumed I would be getting country ham with my Smithfield Benny, but it turned out to be only regular ham. It was still very tasty but I am a great lover of country ham. The Benny was served with a generous side of crispy hash browns and was a very filling brunch. DH’s pork chop was a sight to behold. It was offered to him with a side of either brown or white gravy(he chose white), eggs, hash browns and choice of bread. DH quickly cleaned his plate. DH lamented that it is to bad we do not have this kind of place in our Tuckahoe neighborhood so I imagine that we will be back to Eat 33 soon.

I have passed Eat 33 several times in the past several weeks. I was anxious to try the food, so yesterday on Monday, I decided to stop by before they closed at 2p. I was welcome very nicely, and they allowed me to sit wherever I wanted… I am giving it 3 Stars, and I will explain as to why. I ordered the«Meatloaf Monday» as it sounded good. So it is hard to go wrong, or at least I had thought this until I had the Meatloaf here at Eat 33. The Server told me how good it was, so I couldn’t wait. I also decided to have the Succotash and Mash Potatoes. The cost of this was $ 8.50. So, when the plate came out… I thought to myself, was this a Child’s Portions as I was surprise in how«SMALL» the portions were for what they were charging. First I tasted the Mash Potatoes, and they had a taste & texture of «Instant Potatoes»… I than tasted the Succotash and they were from a can with NO flavor… I than tried the Meat Loaf and to my surprise, it too was not with much flavor at all… The Owner/Manager came over so I asked him if the Potatoes were instant… There was a very LONG pause before he said they were fresh. Maybe so, but the LONG Pause told me that he did not know how to answer, and I will say they were«Instant»… NOT Fresh. I was extremely disappointed in the portion size and the amount they were charging. I feel, it is best to give the Customer their Money’s worth as they will come back even if the food is NOT5 Star. Upon paying for my food, the Owner/Manager asked me how was everything. I hesitated in if I should say something or not. I like to see«Mom & Pop» Diners survive, and to survive, you need to know what is wrong so you can correct the problem… So, I told him how the portions were small to what you are paying… So, I am giving the food 2 Stars and the Service 3. I will probably pass on Eat 33 as I like getting a Good Value for what I order… Can/Instant food, I can buy at the Grocery and I can eat for MUCH less… :-(

First time at this new place today for brunch. First impression: A decent diner. No frills, with home cooking just a step above what you’d expect. Clean and simple, with decent service, reasonable prices, and hefty serving sizes. Brunch of chicken fried pork chops($ 8.95) was great: 2 chops, biscuit, hash browns, eggs, & gravy. Very tasty. Bloody Mary($ 3 pint) was strong & spicy. Others at the table tried the mimosas(also $ 3 pint), sausage sandwich special, scrapple(!) and eggs, and some of the hugest pancakes I’ve ever seen. Everyone enjoyed their food & agreed we would return again in better weather to sit on the patio.
