I was going to have Dunmar handle my move. I was quoted a price and I took a couple weeks to weigh my options. I signed off on the forms, only to be told that the price had gone up b/​c I waited too long to complete the forms– this of course was not mentioned to me before. Translation: The company thought I was desperate so they tried to price gauge. Sorry Dunmar, I’ll take my business elsewhere– find another sucker!

It should be noted that prices are clearly negotiable with this company, even during busy times. I informed Dunmar that I was being reimbursed for this move as long as it was less than $ 3000. So, what do you think the company did? They rewrote the initial quote for $ 2999.99, which clearly suggests prices can be negotiated out. Had they honored this price I would have most likely chosen Dunmar. They were not willing to honor that price, so I chose another company.
I ended up going with Moxie Movers– EXCELLENT experience with that company and much cheaper than the price quoted by Dunmar.

Moved us from Virginia Beach to Richmond. They packed us and unloaded us is 95 degree heat. They beat their load and unload times. Nothing broken, nothing missing, no marks on the walls or scratch anywhere. They did an outstanding job all the way around. Isaac and his team were professional throughout it all and simply outstanding.

Nothing, and I mean nothing went smoothly with our move. First of all Dunmar did not calculate enough space on the truck for all our furniture and boxes. The driver knew there was not enough room on the truck when he arrived but didn’t say anything. Our Move Manager, Britt wasn’t even there the day of our move or the day the packers were at our house. I managed them… and these guys looked and acted like they were just dragged off a corner somewhere. They stole multiple items from our home because I could not watch every move they made. Do NOT hire Dunmar for your move. You will be much better off working with a professional and response company.

On Time! Nothing broken. The people were polite, careful and kind. My move manager did everything right and did some serious hand holding. Could not have been better.

We hired Dunmar Moving Systems (Franchise of Allied Moving Vans). We requested a move from home to a storage from VA to CA. It included packing the complete house up, but we would do the unpacking on our own. I would give Dunmar a 2 out of 5 on packing … 2 is being generous. The packing that was done by the person was really NOT a professional job. Here are some of the issues
— Boxes were NOT Packed, things were just DUMPED in boxes
— Things were NOT labeled (very generic at best — e.g. Kitchen i.e. it)
— Boxes were not packed with any similar items, they were just dumped.
— Spices were packed without ensuring they were packed correctly, thus was lots of spilling.
— Tumblers were packed in one box and their caps in a completely different box.
— Greasy items were packed without concern for spill over (things from the garage)
— Boxes were not taped correctly which again caused tons of spills.
— dishwasher was not emptied so several items got left behind
I want to state, Allied Van drivers that packed and moved the big items, did a fantastic job. it was just the Dunmar packing person that did a really bad job.
We complained with Dunmar and their response was «sorry, we will have a talk with him».
I would be very skeptical in hiring Dunmar Moving Systems again.
