I frequent Cradle & All — I’m always on the lookout for a bargain. I do have to say that I used to love it more than I do now. Here’s why: They’re continuously«not taking bins of clothes for consignment» because they’re full. Understandable. It’s great actually. Maybe that means they have a good selection. However, at least in my daughter’s size, there is never much of a selection. I used to walk out of there with sacks of clothes I’ve bought but now, I always only walk out with a couple items. Also, the prices are getting a bit out of control. I understand prices go up, certain items are nicer than others and all that jazz, but when things are priced at or barely below(and sometimes more) than new prices just because of a brand name or if its still got the original tags, I will go buy it new rather than buy new/used for the same cost. The prices for toys have gone way up too. The store is always clean, the folks are super nice and they’ve got a play area for kids. They even have a frequent shopper program now. So… I still go. Not as often as I used too. And I don’t buy as much as I used too. Normally, I go in with low hopes and maybe I come out surprised.

Well, I found the chink in the armor here… it’s a small one, but worth mentioning and worth the subtraction of one star. They only pay pennies on the dollar for your consignment clothing/accessories. If they plan to charge $ 4, you’re getting 40 cents. I brought in what they deemed to be $ 80 worth of clothing and got 8 bucks and some change out of the deal. I realize they have to turn a profit, but that just seems incredibly low compared to places like Plato’s Closet. I’ll still take things here, but only after I’ve exhausted other options.
