Thanks Clint and all you other dudes! You guys are awesome! If you are going to buy a bike, people, buy it here. We bought two giant 37.5 and 39 inch revel mountain bikes that are sick. These guys are awesome for getting you what you deserve and the service is impeccable! Time ups the works!

Called them hoping they could do something a little more complicated than normal and they regretfully couldn’t, but the person on the phone was extremely courteous and helpful and even recommended another bike shop that could do what I needed done. I can’t say anything about the shop or their services, but I was very pleased with their helpfulness even when they weren’t getting my business.

Clint and the rest of the Coqui team have this bike shop dialed in! It offers everything you want out of a local bike shop! For example: * This is the only bike shop in the area that within eyesight 2 great things. 1st– great single track mountain bike trails(Forest Hill Park & Buttermilk Trail/James River Park System) and 2nd– a great pre/post ride coffee shop that also has ice cream and about 15 great craft beers on tap. * The staff are all friendly & accommodating. They’ll know you’re name after just a few visits. They also want you on the trails having fun. Stumble in with a mechanical issue and they always seem to find a way to fix the bike quickly so you can continue on with your ride. * The shop floor is like a candy store as it features great rides from Pivot, Giant, Jamis, etc. They also have plenty of helmets, jerseys, & other bike merch. I haven’t had the opportunity to buy a bike from them(yet), but hear they allow you to test the bikes on the trails before finalizing the purchase. All in all, you can’t lose with Coqui! BTW, if you want to see some pics of their shop & bikes that they sell you can find them on Facebook at:

This is by far the best bike shop in RVA. I have a huge investment in all of my bikes and know Coqui treats them like their own. I wouldn’t take my bikes anywhere else.

Best mechanic in Richmond. The owner has been in the bike industry for 30 years and knows his stuff. He treats customers fairly and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone has a pleasant experience in his shop. His parts and labor fees are low, and he usually offers a 48 hr turnaround on repairs — much faster than any other shop. The shop has group rides for various levels, and everyone is very friendly and accepting. They carry Giant, Pivot, Surly, and a few more. This is a great place for anyone who love bikes.

I love this bike shop, not only is it within a mile from where I live, but the staff is extremely helpful. Other the summer, I got my first serious mountain bike and I had a lot of questions as far as what i needed, should consider, etc etc. just like any other newbie. I ordered my bike and put it together and rode it there. Now even though i didn’t buy it at their shop, the guy working there offered to look over it to make sure it put it together properly. He adjusted the handle-bars and tightened up all the bolts that he felt were loose, and on top of that, he didn’t charge me a dime. This took about 20 minutes as i looked around the store. I’ve been here several times since, and the pricing on their accessories(helmets, lights, other gear) seems to have less than a mark up than other Richmond shops. I bought my headlight and taillights there after i found out another shop was way overpriced for the same exact thing. The staff is pretty knowledgeable as far as bikes also. They took the time to allow me to test out anything that i bought or considered buying and weren’t hesitant to take things out of the packaging. I say this because some places didn’t take me as a serious buyer so they didn’t offer to do so. I am definitely a fan of this spots, for several great reasons. I encourage any Richmond riders to check it out if you haven’t already. If you’re in the market for a new bike, they demo all of their bikes and its required before they sell you one. I would just ask to order one brand new if you do buy from there: D

Excellent helpful co-owner. She made it clear that she is more interested in selling the experience than the product. That is to say, she doesn’t just want to sell you a bicycle, she wants to sell you the RIGHT bicycle. Along with a boat load of information that she provides every customer about the advances in bicycle design, she will also let you take the bicycle of choice out for a spin. I have to admit, new bicycles truly are a much easier, smoother ride and even the hybrid bicycles are extremely light.(And I do not have any arm muscles!) The entry level bicycles are between $ 300 – 500 and if you are buying at the end of the year there will be sales to make space for the next years’ model.(The bicycle I tested out was a hundred dollars cheaper) The great part for a bike novice is that a bicycle purchased here will get free repairs and work done for a year or so, if I remember correctly. Therefore, this is an amazing place to buy one if you live in the forest hill area!
