Cantinho Do Brasil blows its competition out of the water. I will never return to Texas de Brazil again after having eaten here. I’ve heard about this place as a secret little Unilocal hotspot for ages and we finally made it there a few weeks ago. Visually it is not much to look being in a Regency Square-area strip mall, but who cares when the food is this good! We were promptly greeted by the sweetest father/daughter team in the world. You can tell this is their baby and they are proud of it. We started with the hot/cold buffet, which had some great staples like Brazilian stroganoff. They don’t have the variety that Texas de Brazil has on their buffet, but what they do have is authenticity. The true star of the meal is their meats! The lamb and flank steak were huge hits for my table. We honestly enjoyed every single meat that came our way, even the chicken hearts. You cannot beat their price of $ 20/person and as we checked out they even gave us a bounce back coupon, which we cannot wait to use.

I love dropping into random businesses in this area to check out the ethnic food. There are lots – Hispanic, Brazilian, Asian, Eastern European, etc. Stopped in yesterday and figured I’d get the best bang with the buffet at $ 10. They have several meats(beef, pork, chicken), several vegetables(green beans) and several starches(spaghetti, rice, black beans, pinto beans). Everything was delicious and perfectly spiced. I especially loved the sliced beef and the real pork rinds. OMG! So flavorful. The spaghetti is nice and cheesy. Spices aren’t typical American, so you’re getting different flavors than you’re used to. Service was friendly and pleasant. This is not a fancy Brazilian churrascaria(it also has a small area with grocery items for sale), but they do serve that way if you want. And you can take food to go, as well. Funny, the price is lower if you let them make your to go box. When you want something different and filling, try Cantinho! Great little spot.

I was ecstatic that I could find a non-chain Brazilian place. It’s obviously family owned and it is tucked away in a corner of a little retail shopping centre that does not blast it’s name in your face. I’ve tried Texas de Brazil and the conept is vasically the same. All that’s different is that being a smaller place, they obviously have less food at their food bar. However, they do have two different options– one for just having what is already at the food bar or two, having that plus the meat from the grill. The service was spectacular, each person as genuine as the previous. Waiter, waitress, owner, it didn’t matter who they were, anytime they passed by us, they’d eyeball our table and ask if we needed a refill when our cups were empty. I’m taking my father there for his bday for sure. I only wish there had been more consistency with the saltiness of their meats. Some tasted like I had poured salt in my mouth while most were pretty on point. Their variety is pretty good and their pineapple, oh, god, their pineapple with cinnamon sugar was so good. Def going back again.

I had visited Cantinho Do Brasil a few times now. We normally really enjoy dining at Texas de Brazil, but thought we would give this place a try, since the price is good($ 20/adult and $ 10/child). Their selection includes a tiny tiny salad bar area(I mean super tiny, I really can’t even call it a salad bar, because there are only like 5 – 6 items), a couple of meat dishes on the buffet, a couple of vegetable dishes, and a couple of starch dishes(rice, yucca, french fries, and rice again etc). Definitely the salad bar is very disappointing, but we are not here for the salad bar. We were here for the meat that they bring on a stick to the table. My first and second time were pretty good. The meat was pretty good, especially the pork(I think it was pork belly but the top of the skin was so crunchy and delicious). However, the third time, I brought a few folks with us and I have to say I was sorely disappointed. The meat they brought us were OLD, OLD, OLD(CHEWYCHEWYCHEWY, DID I MENTIONOLD)? LITERALLYINEDIBLE. They eventually brought out some freshly grilled meat but by the time that came, we were already done. Needless to say, I was a little embarrassed because I introduced my friends there. The service isn’t exactly great either. I had finished my water for 20 minutes, and was never refilled. I had to ask for a refill. I guess we probably will not be returning.

This place is perfect! The food here is great and it never fails on my checklist! The owners are so nice, especially the lady at the front(I forgot her name). We had the rodizio, and it is way better than many places I’ve been to. I’m assuming it is family-owned because everything here is quaint and everyone is friendly. I’ll definitely be back!

Catinho do Brasil(Cah.TEEN.Yoo Doo Brah. ZIEW), or Brazilian Corner, is a great, family-owned place for authentic Brazilian food. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, as Kelly said. You are made to feel at home. It is actually a market and restaurant, but don’t be fooled. The simple, no-frills restaurant is actually fairly large and very clean. You can bring the whole family with no problem. There are two parts to the restaurant, a more casual area right inside the market and a larger area in the back with more tables and a slightly more formal feel, since it is out of view of the market. My husband and I went for a date night dinner, and it did not disappoint. They offer traditional Brazilian fruit smoothies and juices($ 3.50 for a nice, tall cup), which I love. First off, you have a choice of ordering from the menu, getting the buffet only, or doing the buffet with the rodizio(«ho.DEE.syoo — the unlimited meat on the spits). We went for the rodizio. Where the competition charges $ 50 for rodizio, you pay only $ 20 bucks plus you get authentic Brazilian food on the buffet. The way it works is you grab a plate from the far end of the buffet, you get whatever you want from there, and you let them know that you want the rodizio, and you have a seat at the table of your choice. They will then bring you the cards to indicate that you want meat, and the guy will bring out different meat selections, one by one. It is far better-paced than at TdB, so you don’t feel bombarded at all. You get sweet baked bananas to cleanse your palate as well. The buffet is different every day. For having arrived at 8:30, we still had a good selection. The tripe looked and smelled amazing, but I am not a tripe person, and the steak in creole sauce on the buffet was tender and flavorful. The salada russa(Latin-style potato salad with veggies) was very good, and that is a dish that most people can’t seem to make any way other than bland. There were also plenty of yummy plantains on the buffet to accompany the meal as well. There were two issues with the buffet – the white rice; ’twas cold :(. and the beans, were bland and a little hard. They definitely were not tender and creamy.. However, it was very well-seasoned and nice and buttery. If you like spicy, grab some of the homemade hot sauce with Brazilian peppers in the jar. It’s not super hot, but it has this burn in your nose like a hotter pepper. It’s a smokey-flavored pepper sauce with a nice kick. If you bite the little round pepper, it might make you cough because it gets in your nose, but not because it’s super hot. The meats came out quickly, and were perfectly seasoned. The choices were sirloin, lamb, garlic steak, sausage, bacon-wrapped breast, chicken wings, and chicken hearts, and delicious cinnamon grilled pineapple to finish. My favorite was the sirloin, which had the perfect amount of fat on the outside. It was super juicy and had a beautifully delish crust outside. The chicken breast, though seasoned deliciously, was on the drier side. It wasn’t bone dry, but it wasn’t juicy either. They offer desserts, but I did not want to think about more food, so I didn’t ask what kind. I was very pleased with my experience – great service, great food, good value, 4 stars. I do wish they played the Brazilian music loud enough to hear, that would really top things off for me. I think it may help to make it clearer to new guests that there are a few different dining options(menu, buffet, buffet + rodizio) so that they know for future visits. I only knew from Unilocal. The food was wonderful! I am not a big meat eater, but I took the hit for my husband. I would rather just do the regular buffet because I don’t like that gut-busting feeling of loading up on meat. If you’re a carnivore, for rodizio, you really can’t beat what you get at Catinho do Brasil. We can’t wait to go back and, in the meantime, to tell everyone about this great hidden gem! Thanks, Unilocalers! TIP: The place is a little hard to find. It’s the plaza just before Blue Jay, when you are coming from Regency. They have a small vertical flag with the business name in the front of the parking lot, but it’s still easy to miss it.

This place was AWESOME. DH took me for Friday Night Date Night. He told me he had a surprise place that I would never guess in a million years. He was right. I never knew of this place even though we live fairly close by. Neither did he until he found it on Unilocal. The place itself is a casual restaurant with a bodega section. During dinner hours, there is a small buffet for $ 9.99 and you can add churrasco for another $ 10(Thursdays-Sundays). Well, that is what we wanted. So we seated ourselves, headed to the buffet, told the guy at the counter what else we wanted, and soon thereafter, here comes the carver! Giant skewer after skewer, we were treated to as much deliciously prepared meat as we could manage to eat. It was all beautifully prepared — moist, tender, delicious. Beef, chicken, lamb, sausages, you name it, they seemed to have. The place had a nice crowd for a Friday night. But I did notice we were about the only ones not speaking Portuguese. So this place obviously has a community following. But the owner was delighted that we were there and was excited to know that we found Cantinho do Brazil through Unilocal. He said he looks forward to more Unilocalers coming in. Best of all, we both ate like a king and queen for 1 person would have spent at a regular Brazilian steakhouse. So save your money and support a local family-owned business that makes really great food.

My wife and I have heard many good things about this place so we gave it a try today. The food is AMAZING. The owner is so welcoming, she treats you like you were at home. She introduced us to a variety of different food and drink menu. Very clean place and friendly staff. You must give them a try.

Awesome. My wife is Brazilian, and this food is what we both remember from Brazil, not the fake ‘churrascaria’s” that cost an arm and a leg. Try it!

The restaurant looks a bit underwhelming as you walk in, but once you taste the food, you become quite satisfied. Most of the food is served buffet-style. The food is definitely authentic Brazilian food, is very tasty, and it’s $ 9.99 for all you can eat at a buffet, which is a very good deal, especially for dinner. They also sell some sandwiches and coxinha(chicken-filled ball of wheat flour). I’d recommend trying the chicken coxinha! The restaurant is owned by a very friendly Brazilian couple. They also sell some Brazilian groceries like Pilão Coffee, snacks, different types of yucca flour, and candies. In addition, they have smoothies which would be good for when the weather warms up! Anyone wanting real Brazilian food in a friendly atmosphere should give this place a try.

Most authentic Brazilian food in town at a reasonable price. Had lunch here twice already, taking a group from work tomorrow. Lunch buffet isn’t cheap, but you can get the prato feito for about $ 10(meaning they dish up for you — but believe me you will get PLENTY of food). They even have some shelves with Brazilian food products and treats on the wall. Great stuff. Complete your meal with a Guarana Antarctica and your life will be complete. Or at least you will have had a very satisfying lunch experience.
