Nice store for what is, and we did purchase an all-in-one computer. The man who took care of us was one if the Geek Squad members, and while he was nice, he was VERY pushy in trying to get us purchase the assurance plan. We really do not need it, and we did not want it. He actually told us «what a mistake» we were making, along with some other rather snide remarks because we did not want the plan. We almost didn’t go through with the purchase, but we wanted this particular computer. We don’t have to go back… And probably won’t.

I didn’t think it was possible to love a big-box appliance store, but Best Buy changed all that. The customer service given to me when I purchased a new washer and dryer was excellent(except from some chick that was asked to help me and chose to stand there instead)… the delivery to a town 20 miles away was free… and the delivery guys offered to haul away my old set free of charge. They even dropped off the still-working washer to its new owner and offered to leave the dryer box for my little boy to play in. I was very, very impressed.

Horrible customer service. I asked the guy a question. He gave me what I assumed was a knowledgeable answer. Ya right! Found out at another store the truth. My suggestion is to save your time and money! Shop anywhere but Worst Buy!

This is the worst best buy I’ve ever been in. Granted, the one in Hamilton smells like no one in the store has showered this century — the customer service in Richmond is worse than the smell in Hamilton. My boyfriend took a blu ray player in to have it fixed because it would play dvds but not blu rays. The guy working at the counter acted like we were morons and told us we needed to install some update which required the internet. We didn’t have internet access at the time and asked if he could do it for us. He laughed and said that their internet was down. He acted like that was the funniest thing he’d ever said in his life. I was irate and wanted to punch him — I had to walk away. He was the most condescending asshole I’ve ever dealt with at a best buy. He told us to come back another time and maybe the internet would be fixed. The store is small and doesn’t offer much. All of their employees look miserable and bored and none of them give a damn about helping the customers. I avoid this store at all costs now.

When I don’t need help, they care and when I do need help, they walk away. You need to be informed when you enter Best Buy anywhere in the U.S.A. You need to know the products and you need to know Best Buy’s services. They can do a good job, but you should know ahead of time what to expect, as you should with any business dealings, unless you do not value your money. Whether you’re in Richmond, Indiana or Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Houston, Orlando – it’s all the same. I’ve talked to some of the people working there and they’ve been quite friendly and caring. Then, one night I went to buy a home theater receiver. Someone arrived while I was trying to make my decision between a couple of models on sale. I decided and said which model I wanted. He walked away. At first, I thought that he was getting something to make it easier to carry but he didn’t return. I got the box from the shelf, took it to the register, and paid for it. I clearly didn’t expect that level of «I don’t care» from anyone employed anywhere. I haven’t seen that person again, so I suspect he got the news that his job was more temporary than he wanted. Still, it’s Best Buy and I’ve been shopping there since 1995 and I buy nothing there without doing research before I enter the building to buy.

The people who work in this place should learn how to actually treat a customer when they’re waiting in line and not randomly take care of other people who just walk up. Also, to the asshole Richmondite… learn a little common courtesy asshole. You are why people beat other people’s ass in the parking lot. So, we left because we had to be somewhere. But, we came back to give them another chance… The only good thing I can say is the woman who actually helped us was very sweet and helpful. Her manager on the other hand I wanted to throw in front of a bus. We bought a new iPhone for my wife. We were asked once about getting insurance. I find insurance on phone to be ridiculous. So, we politely declined. But, she wouldn’t stop. She kept coming up with scenarios where we would destroy our phone. Then we’d decline, she’d leave… then come back with another scenario. It got so bad that I looked her in the eye, said, «If you offer us insurance again we’re leaving the store and you’re loosing a sale.» She shut up then. But, come on… you’re the manager. Give me a break! So, hopefully, I’ll never have to go back to this location again.

Granted, the store has opened recently. However, making 4 — 35 mile one-way trips to purchase the correct RAM for a laptop is ridiculous. Wishing to upgrade the memory of my 5 month old Hewlett Packard, I went to the regional store. I was given incorrect information regarding the type of memory I needed and the upgrade capabilities of my unit. I took the memory back. They sold me DDR2-laptop. It did not fit; I needed DDR3. This time I took a copy of the specs, not just a hand written memo with the model number. The sales person directed me to the 4 gig– DDR3 package and said this is what I needed. The RAM did not look correct so I showed him the spec sheet. Nope, that is what I needed. I raised concern again at the checkout and was assured this is what I should buy. When I opened the back of my laptop the RAM inside the unit was a fourth of the sizeof that in the new package. Upon inspecting the RAM, it was for a PC desktop, NOT laptop. Calling the store did not bring satisfaction. The manager, while apologetic, offered no compensation other than regrets. The RAM will get returned and I am ordering it from Hewlett Packard. You do not get a second chance to make a first impression. This store has lost my confidence and business. 12÷6÷12 — Went in the store with a friend and came out with a surround sound system! Obviously the sales staff did something right. Very helpful, informed and listened to my needs regarding speaker quality with an emphasis on dialogue. This customer has changed her mind.
