I’m not going to lie, I was a little concerned when some friends first brought me to this place. It’s not in the best part of Richmond, and on the outside it looks like nothing more than a Latino foods store. That would be fine if you’re looking to get some groceries, but you would never know there was a restaurant here until you walk into the back. The first thing I noticed as I got into the restaurant part of things is how many Latino people were there. I knew right then and there it was going to be great! The horchata is some of the best I ever had, and the chips and salsa they bring out initially come with this amazing jalapeño & crema dip. Everything I’ve ordered here has been delicious & extremely authentic. I love Mexican food AND El Salvadorian food, so I love that you have both options here. I am looking forward to trying the pupusas next time. It does help if you know a little bit of Spanish, you can get by just fine with the menu in English and Spanish and with a big picture of the meal to accompany each item. The service is always been great & the food is wonderful! Every time I’m in Richmond I try to make a stop at this little place.

Love this place. My in-laws are from New York and every time they come to visit my mother-in-law always wants to come here. And with good reason, the food is true authentic mexican and salvadorean food. I’m not technically hispanic, but grew up eating homemade mexican and salvadorean food. The food here is just as good as any«comida casera»(homemade food) I’ve ever had. My favorites are chicharrones con yuca, pupusas con loroco, torta mexicana(I grew up on these),… honestly, the list is too long. This place is a gem. It’s not in the greatest part of town. And it’s behind the market and behind a little storefront they have for I guess you’d call«latino services». If you didn’t know it was there, there’s no way you’d find it. And that’s why everyone I know loves it. Usually, the clientelle is mostly hispanic. That’s ALWAYS a good sign when it comes to any authentic restaurant.

Visited here for the first time over the weekend, largely because we had heard there would be a vendor of Venezuelan cheeses there. Sadly, they were not, but happily we found another decent Latin store in Richmond. The store is the second that we have found that is very clean and during our visit was staffed by two women and a gentleman. When we told them why we had stopped there, he called the person for the cheeses and although we left shortly after, we learned later that the vendor arrived shortly after we left. For the most part, they had everything we could want in a Latin grocery. They had goods from Central and South America, while in the back they appeared to have a restaurant that focused on Central American dishes. We are happy to have found this spot, which gives us yet another Latin grocery to visit in yet another part of the city. Right now, we feel like we have a place regardless of where we are, which is comforting for a family that survives largely on staple items from this part of the world when eating at home.

My friends and I have been here multiple times and each time we get consistently good service. There is a restaurant where we like to eat at the back. Pupusas are what we typically get, but there’s so much variety. It’s all Central American food characteriscally with plaintains and cream and such. The Latino Market is also great for things you can’t always find in other places. Definitely bookmarking this place. :)
