I’m not sure I can give these guys 5 stars if only because I don’t have animals processed there myself. But the farmer I buy my grass fed meat processes his cattle here and I have no complaints. I know he’s been going to them for years with no issues as well as many farmers around PA, NJ, and NY.

Springfield meat is a meat processor. Cows go in one end, steaks come out the other. They have been processing my cow share each fall for the last few years. They do a great job. The place is very clean. It smells clean. The prices fair, and they load up the steaks, ribs, ground beef, etc into my car for me. They also process deer during hunting season. Everything is neatly wrapped and labeled. If you are buying a cow or splitting one from a CSA, this is the place to have it processed. It’s nice knowing where our beef is grown and where it is processed.

We brought in an organic steer and a cow to be processed. This was a disaster. They cut the meat into such small pieces that it’s destined for dog food. Incompetant twits is probably the nicest description. They were told no ground beef. We got about 200 pounds of it. They were told roasts. They cut the roast into 2 pound chunks — what a waste. They said that we didn’t specify the size — how often do you see a 2 pound roast in the grocery store? Steaks were cut waifer thin. We were supposed to have all beef ribs. They cut them into short ribs and out of 2 animals we have 10 little packages. Sounds like they will be having beef ribs for a while. I’ve never seen such incompetance. A total disaster.
