Zips has been a family favorite for years! Best corndogs in town! We also love shredded lettuce on our hamburgers, and add pickles on everything. This particular zips is getting 4 stars because THEYCHARGEFORKETCHUPAT A BURGERJOINT!!! Crazy right?

The reason I come here is because my hubby loves the paper-thin hamburgers, just the plain no frills or thrills, hamburger. It does come with a pickle and some type of special sauce, and then he taught me to eat it by dipping it into a half ketchup and half tartar sauce that he makes at the counter. The bun, however, is always super fresh. The interior will take you back to the ‘60s, but the customer service is decent. Since I usually insist on getting my drink from somewhere else, I am a pretty cheap date(under $ 2 for the hamburger). Maybe the whole ordeal is some test to our marriage. I best give this 5 stars.

This Zip’s gets 5 stars because of its convenient location to the Columbia Center Mall, there is always a special deal on something, you don’t have to pay extra for tartar sauce and they ALWAYS get my order right. The only drawback to this Zip’s is that it has an outdoor bathroom. The Zip’s franchise has been around since before McDonald’s. That makes it way over 60 years old. Their prices are excellent and their hamburgers rival establishments with much higher prices. The $ 1,89 regular hamburger, the lowest price item on the menu has great flavor and the bun is always super fresh. For a little extra zest, add some tartar sauce and the hamburger is then absolutely heavenly(my opinion). The menu here is quite eclectic and there are some interesting hamburger varieties from which to choose. You can also have a hot dog or many different fish/seafood selections. If you are on a budget, you can have a hamburger, fries and a drink here for about $ 5.00. A great deal!

This place is one of a kind! I went in on a Sunday at 2 and it was standing room only. I’m from out of town and have eater here before, its a must stop for me but its wonderful. They butter and grill the bunz which sets this place aside from your average joint. The fries are not your typical fry. Yes, they have yummy fry sauce. The only downfall to this place is that it’s dirty. They could use an upgrade of carpet, tables and such pretty bad.

I was doing a disc golf tour through the North-West and had just finished playing in Kennewick. I needed some food before going to Seattle and a burger sounded great. I saw Zip’s while driving through an intersection, noticed the sign about fish and chips, flipped a U and went through the drive thru. My eyes landed on the Cajun Burger and my thoughts about fish and chips quickly changed to spicy burgers. I got my burger and some tots and was on my way. The burger was amazing. I’m not sure what all was on it, but it had some spicy pepper jack cheese, some green chilies, and some great seasoning. Some sort of spicy sauce was on it as well and it was fantastic. It was spicy, but not too spicy for driving. I can’t describe in words how blown away I was by my cheap $ 5 burger. The tots were good, but could have been better. They have fry sauce as well, which was good for dipping. The large tots ended up being more than I should have ordered as I got tired of them about halfway through the bag. Overall the burger was really, really good. We don’t have Zip’s near me, but I’ll stop by if I ever see one again!

Zips is always such a nice place to grab a burger, shake, hot dog, or anything else they sell here. The last time I went here, I ordered a Big Zipper Deluxe and a side of large fries, and I had just eaten the meal of my life. That Big Zipper Deluxe had three patties, lettuce, a tomato, bacon, and a slice of ham. What more can I ask for? The time before that, I ordered a basic Big Zipper with a large soft drink, and I still recommend it. The price for food is right, and whenever I am in the area, I always make sure to stop here. Nobody can ever predict the next time I come here and order a meal about as awesome as this. I just wish they had these in Northern California as nothing comes close.

They charge for ketchup in the drive-thru but not walk in. But you can get all the mustard you want in the drive-thru?!? So I wonder if they skimp on cleaning products for the restrooms also, or reduce cooking times to save money. Just saying… it is just a ketchup packet.

Burgers were OK. Nothing to write home about it. They actually ended up getting my boyfriends wrong. My boyfriend got onion rings and I got the fries and they both just tasted like grease. I love burgers, so I’m always looking for a new spot. But this place is not it. I’m so disappointed, I’m not even gonna go back and try the milkshakes. I think the best part of all of it was the fry sauce. Maybe because it helped mask the grease flavor. Who knows. I won’t be going back to figure it out.

There are so few of the regional chains around these days I have to say that my dad and I were happy to check this place out. They make some amazing hamburgers and actually put ham on them! This was funny and quite good. They also have sauces out for patrons that many places do not(tarter, fry sauce, and mayo) for those of you who like Amsterdam style stuff to dip your fries in. They also have ketchup of course. This is a very eclectic place but the staff are nice. We came here two times in our short stay here and really enjoyed it. We left our room key at the table by mistake and the manager had them for us when we returned 30 minutes later and had tried calling our hotel. Now, that’s old school nice. It is unique. It is not fancy. You will enjoy the ham on your burger.

Too many people are reviewing J.C. Zips thinking that this is the Lee Blvd Zips. Do not be fooled. J.C. Zips is the cleanest, best customer service Zips in the tri-cities. They have no problems giving you extra tartar sauce, you can get free refills, and there isnt dust/grease scum everywhere. J.C. Zips and Kennewick Zips are the two Zips in the tri-cities that put out quality fast food.

Fast service but Their burgers are on the level of McDs. Gross. Fry sauce was amazing, but the fries were your generic frozen $ 0.99 bag from the grocery store. $ 7 got me a small milkshake, small fry and a super sad little burger. No lettuce, no onion, tomatoes… Nothing. I don’t recommend it.

Do you ever go to the trouble of writing a review, only to discover when you are ready to post it, that you had posted a review for that business several years ago, but had forgotten all about it? Damn! But that doesn’t mean I can’t post my review as an update. (Note: I really meant for this review to be for the Zip’s on Lee Blvd. But since the menu and quality is the same in both locations, what I say here applies to the Fowler location as well.) It’s true, the main reason I come to Zip’s is that I am hankering a corn dog. They’ve got the best corn dogs anywhere, and that would include any place in Portland(yes, even Violetta’s) or Seattle. Zip’s corn dogs are most excellent when ordered extra well-done. Zip’s is a fast-food chain with three locations in the Tri-Cities. It’s been around forever. Let me put it this way… back when the world was young(like in the 60s and 70s), the Richland baby-boomer hip and cool kids(no, I was not one of them) gathered at Zip’s or hung out in their cars across the street in the Pay Less Drug Store parking lot, smoking pot or doing whatever. Well, Richland cops were a little more laid back in those days. Many years after that when I first started working, just out of college, I’d often sneak over to Zip’s for lunch, even though my work colleagues sneered at me for doing so. But you know, the craving for corn dog cannot be denied. I thought it was interesting that back in those days the guy who was either the owner or manager always had a brand new Cadillac that he prominently parked next to the drive-through lane. I never knew that fast food was so lucrative! Zip’s prices are reasonable and their hamburger meat is consistently very good. I don’t think now I would try to tackle a Doggoner, but I remember this burger with a hamburger patty, sliced hot dog, cheese and pickles was doggone good. In addition to fries, you can get tater tots, onion rings and breaded mushrooms. I like that they don’t skimp on the tarter sauce that comes with your sides. My tip for Zip’s would be to keep in mind that, by default, burgers do not come with onions. However, if you say«plus onions» when you place your order, you can get ‘em.

Last two times I have been to this location I have got cold fries. This time the extra bonus was sitting in the drive through for over ten minutes. Last time the drive through was extremely slow as well but ten min with only one car in front of me is crazy. The lady working at the window was as pleasant as my wait. She did not offer anything more than my total. No «hello» or «sorry for the wait» Nothing. Zips is one of my favorite burger places but this particular location has proven to consistently have poor service.

Honestly i love zips i’ve been going there since i was a kid but the last couple times going to the one in richland have been pretty bad experiences i would pick the one in kennewick over the one in richland anyday. first the employees had really bad customer service, the burger was really dry and the fries tasted like fish i know its hamburgers and fish place but they should cook their fries and fish in different fryers or something because their fries did not taste good had a weird taste and a nasty after taste. i didnt finish my fries or my burger the last two times going there. and i have decided not to go to the one in richland anymore. but i will always love zips i’ll just be going to the one in kennewick instead.

Ever since everything that was good about Wendy’s was murdered, this has been the go-to place for a good, old fashioned hamburger. Sometimes, you just want a classic and they do the classic very well. It’s much better than the other fast food shlock around here and since it’s super close to where I work, I can get my double cheeseburger combo when I really need it. Of course it’s not perfect, but they’ve really improved over the years and I find myself really enjoying the place now. Plus, the make good fish.

Any burger joint that has lasted 50 years and still has car’s parked in the middle of the street waiting to get in has got to have the right stuff and Zip’s on Columbia drive definitely has the right stuff. Nothing is reheated in the microwave. everything is pipping delicious hot. fabulous fries, great fish and chips and the best old fashioned burgers anywhere. they even grill the buns. Now are they big fat tasteless burgers.NO.they are exactly like they were 50 years ago except the prices naturally. This is exactly why it’s the most popular burger joint in washington. it hasn’t changed. If your looking for a tasteless Mickey D type burger. keep on truckin, this ain’t it!

Yummy Yummy in my tummy! I ordered 2 double busters, a tub of onion rings, and a large peanut butter milkshake mixed with butterscotch. I ate one double buster, a few onion rings, and drank a lot of my milkshake. I am sooooo full, but it was all oh so yummy! I love zip burgers when we are in richland, wa they are quite affordable, have yummy fry sauce, the burgers are so delicious, the milkshakes are heaven in a cup, the onion rings are like little rings of gold that taste so delicious. Come here for some good grubbin!

They have a regular burger nothing special but unlike the other zip, their soda is free refill and the tartar and fry sauce have ice on the bottom of it. The only thing i noticed that is not good is they don’t use any cutting board but just slap the sandwich on top of the counter, just hope that counter is clean. I saw a wash cloth though and it doesnt look clean… I was having a second thought eating my sandwich after that. hope the Health Department check these joints more often to see if they are following the right procedure to be clean and sanitary.

Zips is a regional burger joint. So when I’m looking for cheap burgers I tend to like these sorta places more than a worldwide chain. Their fries are good, and I tend to go here for shakes. I think they do real malt. They have fun flavors too for shakes, I just had an egg nog one the other day. One thing I like about their burgers is having a slice of ham– yummy.
