I’m sure the food is good. Sadly, they were unable to serve up my entrée if their life depended on it. Went home hungry and looking in the fridge for leftovers, after having the check corrected for errors, twice.

I’d like to review the food but I haven’t seen any. Tip off should have been 15 minutes before we could even order.

Great place to eat, in an area where there aren’t many options, and very convenient place to get dinner after work. While visiting the area, I ate here twice with a group. Both times service was pretty good(much better than what other Unilocalers complained about). The food is pub food, which doesn’t set the bar particularly high, but it does meet and surpass that. Yes the Atomic Bombs are delicious, and simultaneously killing you from the inside(as expected from a bomb haha). I thought 2 was not enough, but looking back it was more than enough. I have also had the Taco Salad, perhaps my favorite item of theirs since it excels in taste, while also being healthy. One of the weekly specials was a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, which was as delicious as it sounded, good sauce, reasonable amount of cheese. The beer selection is fairly large and lots of local things, I liked the Ice Harbor Tangerine Hefe, a night light beer with strong hefeweizen flavor, just wish there was more tangerine flavor to it.

I’m going for three stars because I’m conflicted. The staff is attentive, beers come quickly, food is good… But… I finally ordered their steak after a few weeks of trying their other bits. The steak isn’t cheap, in fact it’s the most expensive on the menu and at damned near $ 30 it should be spot on. Nope. I eat steaks rare and this beast was well done. I wanted this to be so great and I was let down, badly. Ugh… beat and burned like a piece of shoe leather… no pride in their signature piece. Bummer…

One word ONIONRINGS, ok so maybe two, but these are the best. My dad used to make beer batter onion rings and these are as close as it gets! Even he agrees.

I was in last week getting a late lunch and had an interesting experience. I would like to say that the food was excellent, the kitchen staff clearly knows what they’re doing and I’m certain I would eat there again… But I would eat there to go. I was expecting a quiet lunch, but I ended up with dinner and a show. I had a blonde pregnant waitress who was nice enough, but didn’t seem to care, she just ran through the motions and didn’t seem invested. What really bothered me though was her being all over the guy behind the bar. I don’t know if they are married, or together, or just close. Either way I thought it was no way to behave in a restaurant, especially one that is kid friendly. I wish I would have said something to management before I left, but I just ate and went on my way. For the food I would give 5 stars. For the service and show… It holds me back from going again anytime soon.

I wish there was a way to give less than one star. I ate here because I came with a group of people. I ordered the western burger which is advertised as a «Two Handed Burger» with a 1⁄3 pound party. Our food arrived 40 minutes later. The fries were good. The waitress never brought ranch out like I requested. My burger was obviously not a 1⁄3 pound patty. I would doubt it was ¼ patty before it was cooked. It was completely over cooked and had a burnt exterior. Not charred… burnt. Once I bit into it the rest of the meat tumbled out because it was so dry. The meat patty looked even smaller since the bun was twice the size. I brought this all to the waitress’s attention and she told me that I was right, the patty was not a 1⁄3 pound patty, and she would go tell the cook. I sat there for another ten minutes as she came and went. I finally asked her if another burger was being made. She told me no and that the burger only looks small because they are using different buns. She continued by saying that she could put in another order but the kitchen is backed up. I had to get back to my training so I declined. I was charged $ 13 for the burger. This price is on par with Red Robin, but the quality isn’t even close. I gave the the waitress a $ 100 bill and she gave me $ 83 in change. When I pointed this out she gave me a $ 5 bill. I explained she now gave me too much and gave her a dollar back. The guys with ordered salads and burgers and also had similar complaints. The only ones happy had sandwiches.

I have eaten here a few times usually ordering pub food. I had meetings after work yesterday with about 45 to get something to eat in between. I ordered the Kobe hanger steak but was informed that they only had a ribeye. OK, I could go for that. Big mistake. That meat was so old it even smelled bad after it was cooked. You know what that smell is like, don’t you, when you leave thawed burger in the fridge too long and it gets that funky smell and starts to turn gray. That was the steak I was served. Just awful. The pub food here is OK. Don’t order anything else.

I came here on a Saturday night around 7 with my fiancé. I understand that Saturdays can typically be busy nights — so I expected a wait. However, waiting an hour for our food is crazy – especially considering what we ordered(a burger, some fried fish and chips). The waitress was great – really friendly and apologetic, but the entire experience was dampened by the extended amount of time waiting for our food to arrive. The quality of food was ok. Again, I wasn’t expecting much(which ultimately ended up being a good thing — I didn’t get much). Not awful, but certainly not worth waiting over an hour for. Fried fish was ok, onion rings were sub-par. Beer on the other hand, was great! I got D’s Wicked Baked Apple cider. Super tasty, with just the right amount of spice. Extra star for the cider.

Waited over a hour and a half for our food before we walked out. They were not even busy while we were there, only 4 other tables and they had there food.

We visited on a Friday during Happy Hour, found a table quickly and our server came to say hello within a few minutes. She was very personable and made our experience enjoyable. I ordered the BLAT burger and my partner had the vegetarian burger. I was underwhelmed by the food although I would recommend the upgrade to the onion rings(instead of fries) as those were very good. As other reviewers have mentioned, the food takes longer than you would expect based on the amount of people in the restaurant. For the same price, I recommend the going to Fox and Bear and getting the grass fed burger. I’d like to go back and try something else off the menu as I know burger preferences can be pretty subjective. Again, our server was really great and I appreciated her attentiveness and positive attitude.

I’m sorry, but almost 2 hours for a simple food order is not acceptable. We only ordered a burger and French dip. On top of that, watching 4 other tables receive their food before you, but coming in and ordering after you, is down right rude. Our waitress was very kind and did her best to make a horrible experience better. She let us know that they only had one cook and the person who washes the dishes running the kitchen tonight. She said they called others into work, but«no one wants to drive all the way out here.» In what world is this acceptable? I felt the food had a nice taste, but not worth the time or money. I wish we hadn’t waited for our meal, but we were constantly promised it would be right out. The place has a nice atmosphere, but I don’t think we’ll ever come back.

7:22 — walk into restaurant 7:23 — get menus 7:25 — waitress comes over, gets our drink order 7:30 — get drinks, put in food order 8:36 — YES. 8:36. ONEHOUR, 6MINSLATER, get food. There was three of us. We got two burgers and one French dip. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Maybe 30 people total. Once we got our food it was cold. Who’s brilliant idea was it to put a grilled burger patty on an ice cold bun? The food definitely had potential but it was not worth the wait, or quality. I can wait over an hour for warm, delicious food, but this wasn’t it. I will give a huge shout out to the server, she made sure our drinks were full and she let us know about the kitchen situation(as in, she has no control over the kitchen and it wasn’t her fault). She clearly felt terrible that we had to wait so long and did her best to make up for it. She was friendly and the only positive from our experience. Not sure how this happened, but the wine one of us wanted and two of the beers we wanted were out. It’s not hard to update your piece of paper menu to reflect the current offerings. I want to like local restaurants, but I won’t be back.

Date Night. My wife and i got to sneak away for dinner. We wanted to try a new place. Service ok. The«hostess» greated us and seated us quickly. Our waitress was efficient enough and answered our questions easily. It was good service but nothing over the top. The beer. We each tried a couple beers. They where good. I realize that the«bottom draft» or whatever it is called is the new thing that makes the beer better or waste less. yada yada yada. But I want my beer in a ice cold glass not a plastic cup. 2 of our beers came in a cold glass and 2 came in a plastic cup, that was used with the bottom draft taps. The food. We like to try multiple things from a menu of a new place so we ordered multiple things. 2 atomic bombs pretzel stick/bites with a cheese sauce the fish and fries and the nachos. Atomic bombs. The sauce on the plate just did nothing for either of us. The atomic bombs themselves were great. Rice stuffed with cheese(pepper jack) wrapped in bacon and fried. Pretzel sticks. uhg! The bread sticks that came to our table in no way made us think pretzel. They were bland. There was a pile of nice rock salt in the bottom of the dish that would have improved this problem but they needed to brush the sticks with oil or butter to get them to stick. The cheese sauce that came with this dish was equally blah. SALT it works wonders. The fish and Fries. The fish tasted fresh, it was white, light and flakey. It was very well breaded(lightly) and very moist(not oily or greasy). The fries that came with this dish were also great. Both were hot and delicious. Not sure how we felt about the tartar sauce it was ok just not our thing. The nachos. The chips were warm and crisp. the meat had great flavor and just the right amount of heat. But for $ 14 we had a TON of chips with nothing to eat on them. It sounds like I am complaining a lot and still giving them 4 stars. The fact of the matter is had they used just a little salt, layered the nachos with a little more toppings, and had glasses for all the beer we ordered we would have given 5 stars. This place over all was and enjoyable evening out together. Nice calm environment. Good food and Beer. Good job to the owners and the crew

Went for lunch with the office. It wasn’t super busy but the service was very, very slow. For being in an area that will obviously get a lot of Hanford workers in for lunch, you would think they would learn to have quicker service to accommodate short lunch times(it took us an hour and a half.) the food was okay-nobody was blown away but it wasn’t bad. The beer selection did look terrific so I might go back to give that a shot.

After seeing their Facebook post about their daily dinner special«calamari puttanesca paired with a tamarack spice box», I decided this would be my place of dining for the evening. I truly enjoy well prepared calamari and am always curious to try it at places where you wouldn’t expect there to be fresh or good calamari. I guess I am a glutton for punishment because I generally know it will be bad, I guess I’m just always hoping to be pleasantly surprised. In general, I like«that place», it has a good social atmosphere, lots of pnnl and Hanford work groups that fill it regularly. I have had fish and chips and a lunch grilled chicken sandwiching the past. Neither were amazing but both were decent and didn’t cause me to storm out in disgust. The calamari puttanesca was right on par with that. I was mainly curious to try the calamari though. It was actually tender and not difficult to eat. I wasn’t sure exactly which part of the octopus it was, the slender hollow tubes did not offer a lot of substance or flavor to the meal, but atleast it wasn’t chewy. The tomato based pasta could have benefitted from some fresh herbs and cracked black pepper to make it pop or give it some sort of distinct flavor. I finished the meal and it wasn’t painful, but also not overly desirable or flavorful. Fresh herbs and seasoning are easy to come by and should be a staple in an Italian style pasta dish, so no real excuse for the lack of flavor. I decided to test the waitress a little bit in regards to her knowledge of the special. I asked what made up a «spice box» wine. She said a red blend, I said what kind of red blend, she said I could read the bottle as she didn’t know… fail. I don’t expect a waitress to know the details of every bottle, but perhaps for your nightly special the restaurant could prep the staff to better educate patrons and sound knowledgable for the purpose of selling the special. My table and I then got into a debate about whether a waitress should know that level of detail and whether it was acceptable or not since it was just the Tri cities and not Seattle. The answer is YES It matters! Quality should always matter from food prep to waitress knowledge! If establishments don’t drive to a certain level of quality and customers except less than excellent products and services, we will continue to stay mediocre and never draw bigger ticket items of any sort to the area. This goes beyond my review of «that place» but it just makes a good example of a nice establishment offering nice things but not driving to offer a superior product that leaves customers wowed, wanting to come back and recommending it to all of their friends. If we want to compare to Seattle, the food would have likely been rated worse and the waitress would have been fired between The reviews of J and I. So Again, this isn’t a slam on «that place» as I would assume to run into this same situation at a lot of places around town, but it doesn’t make it acceptable. Below you will find reviews from my other guests at the table. While you might think«j» sounds a little dramatic with her adjectives, the scenario was accurate and it was offensive that a guest would be pushed to drink a product they weren’t requesting and then later find out they had what she was asking for but told they didn’t have it. D– The beer that I ordered tasted good, and I liked that. J — «That place» was true to its name, but not in a good way. Upon entrance, I was reasonably impressed with the distressed yet chic décor. I sat and the waitress greeted me with a slightly confused demeanor as I urged her to take our drink orders. I waited for her offer me a drink menu but after a few minutes of looking doe-eyed and thirsty I settled for asking her directly for the wine list. The waitress looked at me like she had not ever heard of such a foreign thing as a «wine list» and asked what kind I wanted. I responded with my usual -«chardonnay.» She hesitated and said that they do no have chardonnay but they do have something very similar and I accepted. BIGMISTAKE. I ended up receiving a miniscule serving of blush wine. As I winced and forced this sad excuse for a wine blend down my innocent throat, it was clear that this blush wine was not going to be satisfactory — or even tolerable. After asking the waitress AGAIN for a wine list, she gave me one and I realized that she offered me the most expensive glass of wine — as if there were no other wines available. later I did end up getting a chardonnay, thank goodness, but the process was frustrating and confusing. In short, where can you go for the most expensive wine list, horrible service, a shameful excuse for blush wine, and about an hour of pleading for attention from your server with your thirsty disappointed doe-eyes? Oh Yes — «that place.»

I’ve been here three times. The first time I ordered fish and chips which was really good. The second time, they had an expanded menu and I ordered bacon Mac and cheese. The food was good but the portion was very small considering it was priced the same as an entrée(it came looking like a side). However, i had hopes of coming back and trying new things based on the menu. Also, the place is well put together and they have immaculate bathrooms. Based on my first two experiences, i would give this place a 4 for great atmosphere and okay food and service. The third visit was a little worse. They trimmed back the menu because the original menu slowed service. The new menu was very basic and three of the items were just variations of hamburger. I wasn’t excited by my options considering the 11 – 12 dollar price tag of every entrée.(They’re food isn’t anything special so that is a little much compared to other places nearby.) I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. They added avocado upon request for 2 dollars more. The frustrating part is that we waited 10 minutes for our check well after we finished eating. Overall lunch lasted over an hour. I thought they were trying to speed up our experience by giving fewer options! Based on the third visit they get 2 stars. I know they’re still experimenting since they are new so I averaged my combined experiences to 3.
