What a great find. I live in Idaho and this place reminds me of home in North Idaho. The server was so friendly and helpful. She knew the menu so well. I have to eat gluten free, so I was so happy to find a diner that does almost all home made food and goes the extra mile to make gluten free items. I enjoyed the pork chop breakfast. It had 2 nice size pork chops that were so juicy and full of flavor and you can tell that they came right off the grill. It came with hash browns, eggs and gluten free pancakes. The pancakes were full of flavor and fluffy. I finished up with a bowl of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce topping. I can’t wait to go back.

Awesome Gluten free pancakes! Staff is very accommodating & understanding of Gluten free/Celiac needs. Gerrie was our waitress, & was such a sweetheart. The restaurant/diner reminds me of being down home in the south with the ambiance & warm hospitality of the staff. Loved it! Truly a gem of a find, tucked away on D Ave, off Gull, in Richland. I highly recommend, & cannot wait to go back myself! :)

I had co-workers who loved this place. I didn’t understand why. I went for lunch with my parents one weekend and was not impressed. The service is subpar. The waitress only came to take our order, bring us drinks, and serve the meal. She didn’t come to check if we needed refills at all. They use paper plates and styrofoam cups. If I wanted to eat off that in a sit down restaurant, then I would go to fast food place. It’s overpriced for what you get. It’s absurd to charge $ 7 for a pop, burger and fries that are served cold. Also, the desserts are $ 10-$ 12 bakery cakes from the grocery store. Individual slices(8 per cake) are priced at $ 3 each. There’s better places to go for lunch in Richland than Kare’s

We found Kare’s Diner by accident, but it turned out to by quite the find. It’s set off of M89 just inside Richland, MI and the parking lot is a bit difficult to navigate, or at least it seemed to be on a busy Sunday afternoon. Inside though, we found something amazing; on a large dry erase board next to the kitchen was a gluten-free menu! I’ll eat anything you put in front of me, but my father is a gluten free vegetarian which makes dining on our yearly golf weekend a hit-or-miss proposition. I can’t recall everything they had on the gluten-free menu but they did have gluten free breads, pancakes, brownies and cookies. My father had the first pancake he had eaten in two years and was thrilled. He said they were excellent. I had the eggs benedict, which was pretty good. The hollandaise was quite good, but the eggs were poached just a touch too long for my tastes. The eggs benedict were served with an assortment of fresh berries which were good as well. They had a great menu of items, both with and without gluten. Most of all though, I was amazed to find a small family run diner out in the country that catered to those with a gluten-free diet. We head out to the Gull Lake area every year to golf and I’m certain we’ll be back are Kare’s Village Diner next year when we return.
