Rainbow Foods

This is my go to grocery store since I live just blocks away. It’s one of the few Rainbows that survived after their recent merger with another grocery company and I’m worried that it might not last much longer because because it’s always empty. That would be a huge bummer because this location has a great selection of produce as well as ethnic foods. They keep it clean and the employees are friendly. A few of the cashiers in particular are always super nice and spend extra time helping to bag groceries. Prices are on par with or better than other area stores.

This Rainbow Foods was very nice. Not just the layout of the store, but I found the employees to all be welcoming, friendly, knowledgable & helpful.
Everything I needed was super easy to find-​thanks to the stores awesome complete list of items and where they were located within each aisle that was available for customers as you walked in the store. What a great idea! Such a time saver.
The fruits and veggies were all very fresh and presented nicely and looked very appealing. When I went to check out, I had forgotten to pick up a coupon book at the door, but the checkout lady scanned coupons she had and gave me the sale prices anyway.
It’s that kind of attitude, customer service provided by the employees, and obvious care and pride in the store, that will keep me coming back again and again. I highly recommend it.

I dig Rainbow, but the service here sucks balls. I actually had to (on 2 occasions) tell people how to do their jobs… I would rather take my chances at the Lake Street Rainbow any day.

The service in the deli here sucks. I was going to get some jo-​jos today, waited 5 minutes and was completely ignored by the staff. There was a couple there that was ignored as well.
–The selection on some groceries here is limited, especially organic foods.
–The salad bar is good but when they run low on an item, they don’t seem to refill it
— Some of the cashiers/​stockers are friendly but not all of them.

This particular Rainbow isn’t terrible, but it isn’t good either. It can be difficult finding help on the floor, though they’re usually pretty helpful once you find someone. Usually not bad about keeping things in stock. Their prices are not very good; you can find better prices elsewhere. And checking out can be a complete nightmare. Long lines, the self checkout machines never seem to work right. It’s a rare moment that you can check out quickly.

Over all the store is okay, it is easy to find what you need and the stock people are helpful when you are not able to find the small items. But when it comes time to check out, I would recommend going to a different store. The lines are always long and I have never used the rewards card for gas. I would go to Trader Joe’s or event Cub vs, this store.
