This little hole in the wall takes the flavors that make it seem as though you are in bright sunny Mexico. Now if you step outside in the winter you will get slapped back in the face of reality, but needless to say it’s a hidden gem. The tacos are phenomenal and so are this chips and guacamole. I have not gone to the mercado next door, but I can’t wait until I can to try their numerous pasteles y pan.

Very close to the authentic tacos in California. Wish I found this place sooner. Will be coming more often now.

Let me start with – I hate Styrofoam. That is the only reason this place moves from a 4 to a 3 star. When they start using compostable or reusable they will definitely go up! The food was great and there is something for everyone. We enjoyed tacos(and they have single orders of a variety of kinds; I enjoyed a fish taco – maybe should have a little more fish and a little less lettuce, and the pastor – pork – perfect), a chicken burrito(huge!), and torta(again, huge!). Although we didn’t see queso on the menu, we asked and they provided. When I am there again I will also get a side of salsa. We ordered a kids meal to go which was perfectly seasoned chicken, beans, rice and three fresh corn tortillas. Makes me wish I were a kid again. to top it off we went next door to the Mexican grocery and grabbed some sweets to go. They had every kind of sweet bread you could ask for! Our churros and chocolate chip«bread» made our evening complete. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other things I saw on the menu(or should I say on other people’s tables). Everything looked amazing! A very small parking lot, so don’t get discouraged if it’s full. Park somewhere and walk, or just wait. With the grocery, spots open up quickly. Tip: This is an order at the counter and pick it up restaurant.

Loved the Lengua Tacos but I wish they came with a plate of rice or beans. Definitely going to come back for more horchata.

With a restaurant on one side and authentic market on the other, how can you drive on by? The restaurant is delicious… you order at the counter and you’re called out when it’s ready. The Hawaiiano sandwich was YUM, great flavor and very filling. We also tried tacos and a chicken burrito and we were all very happy with our choices. Plus, don’t forget to order chips and queso!(Trust me, you’ll regret it if you don’t. It’s not very clear on the menu but YES they do have it.) maybe it’s on the slightly pricier end, but you won’t leave hungry or disappointed. Everything tasted very fresh too, so it’s pretty high quality in my opinion. My one complaint… everything is served in styrofoam :(there are a couple reusable dishes, so there must be a dishwasher. Very disappointing to see all that waste. Don’t leave without going to the market next store. Try a bakery item(the churros were incredible, and probably would have been even better if I had waited to eat it at home, after popping it in the microwave for a couple of seconds).

Those who have read any of my other reviews of Twin Cities Mexican eateries are familiar with my term for this region of the country: a despondent Mexican food wasteland. That said, Andale exceeds my expectations and reminds me of some of my favorite places back home in California. They serve good food at good prices deep into the night with a very friendly staff.

BADCUSTOMERSERVICEANDBADFOOD. I live in California and visit Richfield quiet often. I decided to try this place because the building looks nice. The cashier was NOT friendly at all, not even a hello. After trying their tacos, my opinion is BLAH! The meat was tasteless, the portions bite size, and their salsas were bad. ALSO, I ask for salsa and a roasted jalapeño and the woman says«Sorry I can’t give it to you, we charge for it.» I was like WTF!!! I simple jalapeño or salsa??? How much is a jalapeño??? Street taco truck are 1000% times better Than this dump.

OMG! This place is amazing! I got a bunch of different tacos for us to sample and each was equally delicious. I got Lengua(so tender), Buche(crispy pork belly), Al Pastor, Barbacoa and Asada. My friend got Tripa taco and a Menudo soup and both were bomb! Can’t wait to go back!

Everything was so authentic here. Food did not take long either! They give you plenty of sauces, and limes unlike la hacienda does. Meats in the tacos weren’t dry, and the quesadillas there were amazing!

Good god. All my dreams of getting back to my high school size 2 is now shattered after discovering this joint. Just kidding. I never saw a size 2. I’ve had this place booked marked for a while. My coworker and I were looking for some lunch. We both were fasting since we had to have blood drawn that morning. I hadn’t eaten for 16 hours, I was ready to run grandma driving 3 miles per hour over getting to this place. We placed our order of beef tongue tacos, house made chorizo tacos, carnitas(pork shoulder) torta, chips and queso, and a side of hot peppers. Then grabbed a table while we waited for our number to be called. It didn’t take long, but I did notice the tables were all dirty. I wish someone came by to wipe down tables, but that didn’t happen. Plus the place was really quite cold. A little heat in this MN chill would be nice. Our order came up at a reasonable time and I LOVED everything. Beef tongue was tender and flavorful, chorizo had a nice spice, and that torta was out of this world. I had a bite of the pickled peppers, and a splash of their hot sauce on everything. Downside is the parking sucks ass. There’s a private lot, but this place is super busy. The menu is huge above the cashier line, I’m talking about the poster size, but it’s printed small so when you walk in its hard to decide what to get while in line. I grabbed a menu so I can decide ahead of time on my next visit. I also think dining to go would be the better option. Good prices. This is my new lunch jam for sure.

Though there are individual standouts for better tacos(i.e., the tongue tacos at Sonora Grill are the best ever), these are across the board awesome and by far and away the best I have had in the Twin Cities. They are equal to the other best taco places across the country where the restaurant is connected to the grocery from which the meat and tortillas are sold — a marriage of businesses that always seems to yield great success for authenticity and great tasting food. This will be my new«go-to» place to get my taco fix.

Looking for a restaurant for some great Mexican food. This is the place. I ordered a torta de Milenesa and a taco de pastor. I’m going to rave about the torta! It was out of this world. I’ve had tortas at other restaurants but this beats them all. The refreshing rice water was fantastic. Keep in mind, this is a self service. You order your food and pick it up when it’s ready. I highly recommend this restaurant. Great Mexican food. #SeñorFood

Stopped by for lunch yesterday after having seen the place on TripleD. Fantastic Burrito’s and Tacos… fresh ingredients and the place was rocking. I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t see the Tamales on the menu anywhere and that was an item I was looking forward to getting. The food was outstanding and the grocery store next door was awesome as well, we brought home some items from the butchers and some spices and sodas. Grabbed a couple of Churros for the ride home… Cool place, we’ll be back. Update…I now see the Tamale’s listed in the Breakfast section of the menu… my fault.

I’ve tried most of the tacos here and have to say this is the place to go in MSP for tacos. Ingredients are fresh and the different kinds of meat(cabeza, lengua, tripe are all tender but not mushy). My favorite is the al pastor taco. Never had a bad taco here. Add a few splashes of hot sauce and you’re in for a treat. You’re bound to see local Mexicans coming here to eat which is GOOD substantiating restaurant’s authenticity in its local cuisine. Parking can be difficult at times especially during lunch hours. You can also do some Mexican grocery shopping right next door after pigging out here.

I grew up in Texas and am always searching for good Mexican food in this area but mostly to no avail. The chains are mediocre at best and the hole in the wall places often don’t offer quality. I stopped off at Andale for lunch based on recommendations from friends and Unilocal reviews but expected to be disappointed. I was not. The food was excellent. I had the pork pozole. It was pozole rojo which is made with red chiles. I have only had pozole verde which is made with green chiles before but the rojo was very good. Served with two refried bean tostadas it was a filling meal. The restaurant is small. You order at the counter and then are given a number and you wait at another counter for your food. Service was efficient and friendly. While waiting I saw lots of orders going out and they looked mouth watering. Next time I will try one of the platillos which are one of their many entrees served with refried beans, rice, lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, and warm corn tortillas. I would also get take out. Andale’s is crowded and noisy. On the day I was there it was mild outside but due to the crowd and cooking it was unpleasantly warm inside. Even though the food is more Mexican than Tex Mex or New Mexican both of which I love, I will definitely return. PS I did return with my wife and we got two platillos both carne asada plus a tamale to go. The platillos were very good but as another reviewer noted the tamale was mostly masa. I was disappointed as I dearly love a good tamale. Would not repeat on the tamale.

Good authentic cheap tacos! Fast little hole in the wall joint. Friendly guy at the counter, he told me his faves and gave me a to go menu. My favorite was the al pastor taco. Highly recommend. Everyone else’s food on their table looked good, and the menu was extensive. Green sauce was legit!

I think I fell in love with this place! I would choose this place over Chipotle any day! Only thing that made me sad was how small the parking lot was. We got really lucky when we pulled in and found a spot. The guy that was our cashier was super nice. He helped us pick some of their favorites at the restaurant. We even tried Mexican coca-cola! I got 1 carne asada taco, 1 chorizo taco, and 1 al pastor taco. My boyfriend got their carne tampiquena plattilos. We also ordered a side of chips and guacamole. Finding a seat was hard! Plus, all the tables are squished together! We ended up squeezing our way through to a seats next to the window. What I also love about this place is that the tables and seats aren’t sticky! They’re clean! Their food was spot on perfect! I loved everything! Their guacamole is super fresh! We also enjoyed our Mexican cokes! The guy told us we could taste the big difference, but I only noticed that it wasn’t as sweet as American coke.

Probably the freshest Mexican shop to go! I used to come here a lot a lot a lot to the point I got sick of it! the food here always taste fresh unlike some other Mexican shops where the meat looks rough or the soups taste sometimes icky or the tortas are soggy. I have never had those problems at Andale I always order the Menudo or tacos al pastor or my torta de milanesa! mmmm always comes out big good and tasty! The also right next door got the Mexican grocery shop going on a lil pricey but again good got the meats the CANDYANDSWEETS! I get my tamarindos there and if they got it mi tres leches cake! and they accept EBTHEYY!!!

We’re not at Taco Bell anymore, Toto! This evening I was Jonesing some good Mexican food(I said good, which is why making a ‘run for the boarder’ wasn’t an option). So I checked out who delivered Mexican food via GrubHub. I saw Andale Taqueria & Mercado and didn’t recognize the name(It’s besides the point that I’ve gone past that place a million times since they opened their doors). So of course I checked out Unilocal. Then I see reviews by Jonathan and LB, so how could I not order food? And yes, I did order. I ordered a Chorizo Burrito, a Barbacoa Deres Burrito, a Carne Asada Taco, a Barbacoa De Res Tacos, and Mexican Rice. Oh, that wasn’t all for me. Let me review the food and then I’ll fill you in on the delivery dude. The food was solid. You get a lot of food for a decent price. If you’re hungry and you order a burrito, you don’t need to order a side taco. You can tell the meal was made from scratch and the flavors are authentic. Half a star is knocked off because we found two bay leaves in one of the burritos. The other half star I’m knocking off is because none of the food containers were labeled. It was mystery meal all over the place. I did figure out which container was the Mexican Rice. The other thing I’d recommend is eating in. Having the food delivered is probably why nothing was hot/warm. But since the food was so tasty, that didn’t matter much. So about the GrubHub driver. He was a few fries short of a Happy Meal. He had trouble finding the second floor the condo(His hands were full, so he couldn’t use his fingers to count) and he tried to deliver the food a different unit. I opened my door and saw him down the hall. When I told him that food was for me, he said, «You told me it was this number.» I said, «No, that’s the security code. My unit number is different.» Stay in school, Kids, but try Andale Taqueria Y Mercado. It’s bueno!
