New Orleans

This is an casual small restaurant located in a nice strip facing GB Freeway @ Jupiter Rd. The menu is New Orleans Po Boys, Gumbo, etc… which were seasoned well, served hot, and generously portioned. On this trip I ordered the fried oyster basket which comes with choice of sweet potato fries, and sweet southern slaw. Oysters were not breaded with cornmeal like they are really served in the south, but this version was still tasty. Hubby ate fried catfish with friend onion strips and slaw. Both dishes were tasty, nice sized portions. We noticed the music was playing at a level where we could still enjoy conversation. Shock! :) On another occasion I ordered the Cajun gumbo. It was slightly spicy the way it should be, and had a generous amount of shrimp and sausage. We noticed red beans and rice were also offered as an entrée. Will order them next time. On Mondays a $ 2 per item tasting menu is offered. The place, including the restrooms, was squeaky clean. Wait staff was helpful and attentive. Self parking in front, lunch and dinner served, handicap accessible throughout,. full bar with bar seating and flat screen TVs, and large parties welcomed, and food moderately priced. A good bargain for the buck. There are several restaurants on this corner, but I think of them all this is the better one.
