Very unprofessional place. I showed up for my haircut appointment 5 minutes before. The owner wasn’t friendly at all. She told me because I have long hair she would charge me extra $ 8. I told her exactly what I wanted, I’m growing out my layers and wanted to keep the length and that I only wanted to trim 1 ½ inches of my length, she didn’t wash my hair, only sprayed it with water. She ended up cutting off 3 inches on the back, and gave me short layers on the side and short bangs! I have not had bangs for 15 years and did not ask for them. No style whatsoever. It’s the WORST haircut I’ve ever had, specially because she didn’t not listen to what I wanted. It will take me a long time to grow my hair out. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

This place might have stood a chance if it wasn’t for Groupon. I purchased the groupon for a cut only. When I went to use it, the place was incredibly unprofessional. The groupon deal is basically a scam or a way to get you to go to the salon without giving a true disount. I paid $ 19 for what was supposedly a $ 40+ haircut. However, the sign in the salon has completely different pricing. They wouldn’t even wash my hair before cutting it. I should have walked out immediately, but I was leaving for vacation the next day and wanted to get it cut. I went ahead and tried to tip the lady that actually cut my hair, but Monika won’t run a credit card for $ 5, so unfortunately her employee suffered as well.
Perhaps if you just walk in, no Groupon deal in tow, this place might be okay, but I somehow think the managment would be just as poor.

Called to make an appointment, after purchasing a LocalAmazon deal. OMG — all I can say is that Monica, the lady who took my calls (yes, calls, several) never gave me an appointment, yelled at me, told me I was too demanding — and again, all of this just to make the appointment. I had purchased cut, highlights and style– I told her I only wanted cut and style; she claimed she could not do that– so of course, I questioned why since I was willing to pay the same thing for less service, what could be the problem? she told me Amazon demanded that she did what I paid for — but I don’t want highlights, I said, to no avail.
So I researched who this person/​salon was and after seeing that I was not alone in having issues with lovely Monica, of course, called Amanzon and asked for a refund– which they gave me ASAP and without fuss .
All I have to say about this salon is that while this lady answers the calls I would rather have my hair cut by my two-​year old nephew… I mean, she could be a genius with the scissors but lady, you have to get people in the door first. I give her one star because I don’t have the option of giving it a minus 5

I got a Groupon to this salon and was extremely pleased with my experience! Monika is great, super friendly and a very knowledgeable stylist. She did a great job coloring my hair and she introduced me to «threading» my eyebrows. Love it! So much better than waxing. She also gave me some good tips on products to use to help my hair get healthier. I really appreciated that. I had such a great experience that now my whole family goes to her salon exclusively. I would highly recommend you check her out. She’s a gem!

This was literally the most unprofessional, poorly managed salon I’ve ever been to – and I’ve lived in Dallas for 31 years. If I could rate this place with zero stars, I would. Please, please save yourself the aggravation and go someplace else. Anyplace else.
After purchasing a Groupon, I booked an appointment over the phone after agreeing to a price for partial highlights on long hair (prettty straightforward). When I got there, the stylist that I had spoken with made me wait a whole hour (telling me that it would just be a «few more minutes» over and over) and then told me she was going to have to reschedule.
I came back at the rescheduled appointment time and had to wait 45 minutes before even getting in the chair. At that point, she told me that she just couldn’t do my hair at the price she had quoted me originally because she «wouldn’t be making any money». Unbelievable! At that point, I just left, really regretting ever hearing about this place.
I now go to Matthew Tully Hairdressing in Dallas and they’re incredibly good. Ask for Jennifer – she’s great with long hair and super skilled at color technique. Also, they’re realistic about appointment times and very client-​oriented.

Tried to schedule an appointment, but the lady was really unwilling to work with me. She didn’t have any availability on the weekend, which is fine, its a busy time, so I asked how late she was open weekdays, and she said 6, so I asked if I could come in at 5, because I work, and she said no. She said, «If I don’t have any appointments that day, I don’t work.» I said, «Well you would have an appointment that day, me.» She refused and told me I would have to come in between 10 am and noon because she wasn’t going to wait around all day for me. I told her to forget it. If she is that hard to deal with on the phone, why in the hell would I want her to do my hair?!

I love the way Monica cuts my hair. She is really good at knowing your hair type then matching the cut to look natural an manageable

I had a very very bad experience I took a groupon deal and make a call for appointment first she agrees to give the appointment but once i told her that i have taken a groupon deal after 15 – 20 minutes she give me a call back that i am busy with couple of other customers and come on next week without making an appointment. I went there next week and get a very bad response she said you should make a appointment before coming and come next week .I came back that day and raise a ticket in Groupon to give my money back.

This place is awful, they do a CRAPPY job. I got haircuts and partial highlights, and the lady who did my highlights did them so uneven it looked HORRENDOUS. The lady who cut my hair wasnt even looking when she was cutting, and she cut my bangs so short and they look ridiculous. DO NOT GO HERE, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER. THIS PLACE SUCKS

I’ve been a customer of Boone’s for years before he moved to this dump. Now he finally moved out! Boone just moved to Clips in the same shopping center, so if you are looking for him, go there. Boone is a very talented stylist and his prices are always reasonable.
Now, back to this dump. I took my little boy here to have his and my hair cut by Boone. While he was waiting, he does what most little boys do, walk around the waiting area and look at things. While I’m getting my hair cut, I hear this loud scream «HEY, STOP PLAYING AROUND AND SIT DOWN!!», directed at my little 5yr old. The kid was so scared he almost cried. I immediately scolded her for yelling at my child. I told her if my child is out of line, which he was not, then tell me and I WILL tell my child to sit down. I told her she had no right to yell at my child, then she went off and try to tell me that she owned the place and she can do whatever she wanted to. I told her that I didn’t care that she owned the place, me and my son were there to see Boone. The experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. Every time I stepped in there to see Boone, I hear this annoying, bragging voice talking about her Lexus and her shop. Not that I wanted to listen but she was always about 5 feet away. I’m sure she doesn’t have any kids of her own, otherwise, she would know how to treat children.
I almost forgot to mention the following time I took my boy back to get his hair cut. While we were waiting for Boone, my son noticed a fish bowl full of candies on the counter, obviously there for customers. I lifted him up to grab one piece, only one. He liked it so much five minutes later he wanted another piece. That’s when we noticed that the fish bowl wasn’t there anymore… LOL.
If you are considering coming here, then park in the parking lot and go to Clips to see Boone (Clips is next to Subway). He cuts men, women, and children’s hairs with PRECISION. He also does color and highlights too. Boone has a huge following over the years, one cut and you will be hooked.

I walked in one Saturday afternoon off the street with the intention of just getting a quick trim. My hair was in dire need of a new style and color correction though.
Monika (salon owner) hooked me up without costing me an arm and a leg! Thanks to her, my hair now looks healthy and is no longer 10 different shades of processed tragedy (no one’s fault but my own!). My total bill was only $ 60.
Her salon is in a weird location (older strip area behind Fuzzy’s Tacos on Campbell Rd) but certainly worth finding if you’re looking for a seasoned stylist with very affordable prices!

Stop reading, just make an appointment! I almost didn’t go bc of some reviews on Google. All I can say is ‘thank you Unilocalers”! because i went with a groupon, and if I had paid TWICE the price it still would’ve been a deal. Monika is darling, great personality, easy to talk to, and most importantly, listens to what I am looking for. She made suggestions for the colors for my highlights, and I made my own suggestions, and we picked something in between. She was spot on with the direction she took me. I wanted to cover the white halo I was wearing (ok, it’s not really a halo, it is silver hair that cropped up the last 2 or 3 years!) but did not want to look like I had «dyed». Done, check, yup, BOOM. Loved it. Will be back. Oh, and yes, the salon is in a shopping center that has seen better days. But I got a heck of a deal, and I want to pay for great hair, not for my stylist to get to come to work in a marble floored posh salon on McKinney Avenue (nothing against those places, they’re just not in my budget). My iphone map had trouble finding the salon. Just go west on Campbell from 75, and just before Nantucket you will see a Fuzzy’s Taco Shop on the left, Whip into that parking lot, the salon is behind Fuzzy’s, next door to a college text book store. Go! What are you waiting for? Do show some manners and make an appointment first.

Update: Unfortunately I had to modify my initial glowing review of Monica after my last visit. When I called her, she told me to come in but once I arrived (after making the 20min drive) I could tell right away that she had her hands full with at least three other customers. When she finally saw me, she rushed the consultation and started on my highlights. She left the bleach on too long and fried my hair! And she didn’t even put any conditioner on it after washing it! She apologized when I told her that I was unhappy and gave me a small bottle of biosilk to help it but I won’t be back. It’s too much of a circus there. She probably wouldn’t have made the mistake if she hadn’t been trying to do three other people at the same time. I waited a few weeks to see if my hair would settle down, but it’s still a dry frazzled mess – with tons and tons of breakage. Next time I’m going to spend my money on a real professional.

I came in to see Monica on a Groupon. Even though she was slammed, she fit me in and did partial highlights and a trim. Like the other reviewer’s say, she is super friendly and knows exactly what she is doing. I was in and out in no time with refreshed highlights and a smile. Definitely going back.

I think I just made a friend for life!
All I can say is that Monica welcomes you in like no other and don’t let the exterior of this place fool you. You can go to some place fancier and pay a whole lot more $$$ (you know what I’m talking about uptowners) but you won’t get the same personable service and most importantly awesome hair!
I came in with a mop full of long stringy hair hiding in a ponytail and left with shiny, happy, highlighted tresses. I can’t remember the last time I felt so happy with a haircut (or about myself). Now if this place (and Monica) can do all this, consider me a new customer for life.

Monica is a great hair stylist. I have been looking around for a person who knows exactly what I want, and doesn’t try to rip me off. This was my first time, and I think I found a place that I will go to regularly. It seemsl ike she has known you for a long time, and is very down to earth. She really cares about her customers, and is not in it just for the money. She actually loves her job and the people who come to her.

Yep did not like how Monica treated me over the phone when I asked her if she had any pictures of her facility online. She gave me a hard time. Not a great impression to have to newly customer. I guess I will keep looking. If I am going to go to a hair salon I want to feel comfortable with the person who is going to cut my hair and my boyfriends hair as well.
