The chicken shawarma’s only $ 5 and all the food here feels very healthy. Its also slightly creamy for some bites. Its not super filling though. The cheese«pizza» is the size of a personal pizza and it also feels healthy. The doulma here tastes pretty good but it’s definitely not something that everyone likes! I have a feeling it’s an acquired taste since it has an earthy flavor and slightly sour. The owner(Fadia) checked us out and she was extremely sweet! She let us try a pistachio baklava for free which was also excellent. Apparently, she makes all of the baklava and desserts as well as the food herself.

Seems like they stopped selling pita bread — so this is no longer the best place to buy them. As of this date, I’m still undecided where is the best place to pursue the best pita bread. Additionally, they’re planning on relocating to W Parker Rd on Plano, probably by the beginning of February. When they do, they may revamp their offerings. Their mana’eesh(or manakish or sfiha) or Lebanese pizzas are still the best I’ve had so far in Dallas. Are they the best in Texas? Maybe not since I prefer the mana’eesh at Abdallah’s in Houston(although really they only have just za’atar and cheese — for a complete mana’eesh bakery experience, one would have to go to Cedars Bakery, also in Houston). Be warned though — if you’re looking for a menu at this place for their Lebanese pizza, it’ll be a fruitless effort. You’ll have to ask the owner to see what exactly they can make — and if you need a visual or a explanation, just ask him/her to show you the pictures of each mana’eesh offering that they have in their television set that is hooked up to their computer(yes, they have a picture of each and every type of mana’eesh that they can make — and it’s quite an awful lot more than the horrible horrible menu they have for the public). You could get the traditional za’atar and cheese pizzas or you can go for the one that has tomatoes, akawi cheese, and onion — which is what I recommend. You’ll also be able to find that they’re able to make mana’eesh with sujuk(Armenian sausage not too different from a chorizo) and cheese as well. You’ll be helped either by the man or his wife. And the guy is a friendly and helpful person and will be willing to serve you even after turning off the oven near closing time. He turned on the oven for me to make the mana’eesh in the evening, and I was certainly rewarded. As for the shawarma, it’s still not the best I’ve had — for that, I actually prefer the Israeli variant on Coit and Roundrock(between Arapaho and Belt Line) for its flavor even though Fadia’s wraps their shawarma in a roll, which is how I prefer it, than stuffing it in a pita pocket, which is Turkish/Israeli style. As for the sweets, I’m still not convinced that this is the place to go but I still haven’t tried the walnut and cinnamon variety of baklava. But so far, for the sweets, I much prefer the Iraqi bakery and sweets shop on Richardson’s Polk street.

My wife and I stopped for a Shwarma on our way across Richardson for a late lunch. We had no idea what to expect. But the Shwarma was very reasonably priced– so we had a falafel and some Turkish coffee as well. The food was all very tasty and the coffee hit the spot– we were both quite pleased. As I was paying, the owner was very friendly and we struck up a conversation. They are moving to Plano(Parker & Alma) right down the road from our house, which we were very excited to learn. They are more a bakery than a restaurant, they provide baklava and other treats to Central Market and Whole Foods. His wife came out with some fresh date cookies and baklava for us to try. Needless to say– it was a great experience. I look forward to their move to Plano and we will certainly go back to the Richardson location until they close.

I have had about 20 differing baklavas in this first generation American life. My favourite without a doubt is the WALNUTANDCINNAMONBAKLAVA from here. There is no corn syrup or other sweetening ingredient that makes your throat feel like you ate buttered popcorn at the theatre. You can taste the real sweetness of it. Baklava doesn’t traditionally have cinnamon in it but this addition takes it to heaven. They also have pistachio and cashew baklava as well. The whole store reminds me of small bazaars with their front door on the street back home. There’s a fridge packed with yogurts, cheeses, sodas and more, of the eastern variety. Home-y little bakery and spot!

This is a small bakery located in what i would call a raggedy beat up old strip mall. Nothing in strip mall triggers any level of curiosity. You could pass here a gazillion times and not give a hoot about what happens around here… coz there’s actually nothing going on. I had the chicken sharwama and it was very good. The man behind the counter was very friendly and courteous. Please note that this is not a hangout joint and there’s nothing much to do in here. However, there are a few chairs and tables in case you wanted to sit and eat. There’s a huge array of confectioneries, sweets and baklava … i think this is their strength. I didn’t try any of them because i had exceeded my daily intake of sugar. I will be back to get some more baklava very soon when am low on sugar.

If you’re of middle eastern descent – then you should be eating Fadia’s food and should already know about how fabulous her food is. Fadia and her husband Charbel are gracious and very generous. It’s always like visiting family when I shop at their store/bakery/restaurant/grocery store. Fadia is a genius — her cooking is as close to my families cooking that I have found and that makes a difference. The location is a bit hidden, but take the time to go visit them.

I am in love with Fadia’s Deli! Not to take anything away from the walnut and pistachio ones, but I discovered the cashew baklava here and they were absolutely delicious! Fadia was at the counter helping me with my order and she gave me a few to try. I ordered a variety in a large tray and left a very happy customer. Just as I was exiting the deli, I saw a sign for chicken shawarma. Oh my goodness, that shawarma was so dang good. I’ve found my favorite shawarma & baklava place! Thanks, Fadia!

Very good pastry and cookies. Spoke with the owner at length about Lebanese cuisine and we discussed recipes and preparations. As Lebanese food is one of my faves, I will definitely be back. Shukran!

Ordered a bunch or desserts for a get together and had some hummus, pita, and falafel — all delicious and fairly priced. Even let me sample a bunch of things to help me order. Open weird hours but worth making it to the shop.

Despite being small the the store. Gives you a right at home feeling. Super friendly gentleman helped me on my first visit and made me feel like a regular. He even heated my pita for me, they were very fresh, hummus was amazing, tiboli salad was so good as well as the falafel. They have many deserts, canned goods, hooka supplies and spices. A little bit of everything! Definitely will become a regular!

Best falafel I’ve had. They add this cheese in there, with yogurt. Super tasty. Normally I hate this dish as the texture of the falafel isn’t to my liking but theirs is great. Super cheap too, like 4 bucks.

I got the doulma and the meat pie, and my sister got the grilled cheese«sandwich». It wasn’t so much a sandwich, as a wrap. Its offbeat delivery didn’t change how delicious it was! The baklawa was delicious as well.

Every time I stop in, Mr. Fadia offers me about five different samples from the case in an attempt to make me buy more than I intended… and it always works. He’s crafty that way. The baklava is the star here. This is also the spot where I buy my pita and lebneh spread. Fadia’s is a tiny grocery store-slash-bakery, and everything is good and fresh. The falafel has won an award from the Dallas Observer, but I think I’m just more partial to the awesome falafel at Afrah on Main Street.

Fadia’s Deli and Bakery… wow! — a small quaint family run deli that makes you feel at home with big flavors! We tried the Chicken shawerma and garlic spread, grape leaf rolls(with meat & rice), spinach pies, cheese pies, Hummus b”tahini, tabouli, yogurt drinks, baklava(several different types), Kibbeh balls, and the food was all excellent! The savory food was filling, flavorful, and tasty but the sweets were irresistible! Did I mention that they cater… –Bottom line: Authentic healthy Lebanese food well spiced full of flavor, always fresh(they insist) at a great price! I wish I lived closer cause it’d be a daily visit!

300 starts! yaaay!!! OMG seriously… the best sfiha in Dallas by far! It is a über tiny place(just 2 tables, so don’t get excited if you want to go with friends!) but the food is so awesome you would want to take home anyway. It is owned by a very nice Lebanese couple who will make sure to share their hospitality. I tried some items like the manaeech(excellent), kibbeh(perfect), Toum(the garlic sauce. ohhh yuuumm), falafel– took some home to fry it myself. All excellent! But the beef sfihas… I missed sooo much a great sfiha and they deliver! It is huge– like a personal pizza size, super crispy(made with pita bread dough). They make cookies and bread and sweets to supply restaurants and stores. As I cannot spend a day without a faux-pas… last time I went there I ordered 2 or 3 sfihas(thinking I was eating there) and other items. The owner was packing all my stuff, put one sfiha on top of the counter and offer to me and other customer. I have no idea what I was thinking but I thought it was mine… and ate almost all! LOL When I got home I saw the 2 I ordered in a box… So embarrassing! I am Brazilian and we usually offer our food to people who are talking to us, it was normal to me «to share»! I think I owe him an apology… :o)

Fadia’s Deli & Bakery is delicious from wall to wall. The food is amazing! It is a really weird experience when you come here. It definitely isn’t the most glamorous looking place and the service wasn’t that great either. But the food here is delicious! At first, i was a little nervous. There isn’t a sign indicating what you can order. The place is kind of cluttered like an Asian grocery store(random delicious sh*t everywhere). Also, the guy at the counter albeit friendly didn’t say very much. I ordered a cheese pie and chicken schwarma and then he just disappeared into the back. We just had to assume he was either cooking it something. After 10 minutes, someone comes out and takes our money and the delicious cheese pie comes out and we felt a little better given we’ve never been here. For others, make sure to look online for what you want to order. Also, there’s a menu on their counter somewhere. Just look around the clutter. Oh and we also ordered baklawa. They have several different kinds we just got the triangle and the fingers kind. Both of which are a buck a piece and oh my it’s sooo delicious. The little light fluffy cloudlike dough has a nice texture. It’s crispy and buttery and sings sweet notes of honey. I could eat a whole tray. We also ended up just driving home and taking it to go. There are tables there but she didn’t feel comfortable sitting there. The two tables are a little dingy and having kids run around isn’t her thing. I couldn’t care less at the moment i was effing hungry. When we did get in the car i mauled my shwarma like a bear. It was so delicious. It has these flavors i’m not really used to. I could only describe it as like the smell of perfume. But the flat bread was delicious it was panini’d and wrapped up with chicken cucumbers and tomatoes. She ordered a cheese pie. It essentially is a middleeastern pizza with some kind of cheese. That was pretty tasty too! The grocery store has so many random things with arabic letters. A lot of them are things you could find somewhere else and there are also things you probably couldn’t find. Oh and this place is a pretty good value. Yes it’s cheap. Overall make sure you come by Fadia’s for lunch!
