I don’t want to give Calypso good reviews because it might mean more people going and fewer comfortable seats available for me. But I can’t lie… I freaking love this place. I’ve been coming here on and off for 4 – 5 years now and it is just a rock solid place. I’ve been to cigar shops and lounges all over the country and have never found anything quite like Calypso. The lounge is ultra comfortable: there is no more relaxing place to sit in Dallas and enjoy a smoke. Seriously. Don’t tell me ECC or Chamberlain’s or any of the other cigar joints: Calypso is where it’s at. They also sell some delicious pipe tobacco blends that I have not been able to find anywhere else: even non-smokers appreciate the rum and maple aroma. Staff and owners are ultra-friendly, especially Toby the dog who is there every day. Cigar selection is stellar. Drinks are top-notch. All around great spot.

Club Calypso is the best cigar place in town. Great special events with adult beverage tasters makes them even more enjoyable. Matt and his staff are the best and even little Toby adds to the fun. Heard he was opening in a new spot, bigger and better with a bar !! Wow can’t wait, and he will be serving the new local«Four Bullets Brewery» beer. This will be the place around !! JD

Our favorite cigar shop! They are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They offer a great selection of cigars that smoke nicely straight from their humidor. Tell them what you lie and they can help you find even more that you do. The lounge is very welcoming but we haven’t made it up to enjoy it yet.

Super unfriendly. «Allowed» me to smoke a pipe in the lounge after I made a purchase. I enjoyed myself and came back the next day to do the same and was made to feel very unwelcome, told that I had to buy a cigar from the humidor to use the lounge. I don’t smoke cigars but I spend lots of money on pipes, tobacco, and accessories. Lots. When I informed the owner that I certainly planned to support the shop by making some sort of purchase, I was informed that I had to buy at least a pound of pipe tobacco to use the lounge — which is far more expensive than what I would have to buy if I bought a cigar(and also a huge amount to commit to). One of the regulars even shouted«just smoke a cigar» as the owner was busy explaining to me that my money was not welcome at his establishment. I have never had such an unfriendly reception at any tobacco shop. I love a lounge where I can smoke, and always support them financially and return over and over again, but because I was treated like a second class citizen I will not return to this place. It’s a shame, because there were a couple of pipes I was digging on in the case. Oh well. Don’t go here for good service or any sort of friendly reception from the regulars. Go here to spend your money and lord help you if you don’t break it out as soon as you walk through the door. Selection of bulk tobacco, no tins. Nice selection of pipes in a range of prices. Nice lounge. Jackass owner who drives away customers.

This is the place to checkout in this area if you’re looking for a comfortable, friendly atmosphere to relax and enjoy a stogie. Staff is informative, courteous and will help you find something you like. Never pushing the pricey sticks. Plus, out of the way enough the boutique cigars stay on the shelves a bit longer.

I don’t smoke, but a friend of mine was looking for a hookah for a party that he is throwing. We visited a ton of places, and believe it or not, this place sells hookahs. The guys was extremely knowledgable and honest about the products, so that is why I gave this place 4 stars. The hookah here was one of the better deals we found after visiting a few other hookah shops. If you are into cigars, this place sells a WIDEVARIETYOFTHEM!

Lots of cigars and cigar humidifiers and custom pipes. I stumbled upon this place not too long ago. Only recently, I think did they add hookah on their menu. Formerly, the sign only read Pipes and Cigars and I noticed it said hookah in addition to that. So on a whim, my friend and I drove over there and decided to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised to check out their cigar selection. Mind you, I’ve only been to a few and bought only a couple of cigars in my life. But if you haven’t tried cigars before, check out the flavored ones, chocolate, vanilla, among others. In addition to the cigar shop, there’s a doorway into a lounge type area with a full bar and plenty of tables for bringing your friends for hookah. Also a mini fridge to purchase energy drinks if alcohol isn’t your taste that night. Also there’s a nice little couch area in the corner where some people were watching Knocked Up or some other Seth Rogen movie.(Probably a different movie every night). All in all, I was pleased with my experience, the hookah bar looks fairly new and it’s not too crowded at all. So if you’re in the Richardson or Garland area and not willing to wait in the massively crowded Jasmine’s for place to hang out. Come over and check it out. Also come with some friends. It’s not that crowded at all, so if you want to liven it up, I’d advise bringing lots of people.
