Every time I go in I feel like I am visiting friends. Dr. Q will spend a lot time with you to ensure that you get the correct prescription. He is very kind, gentle and funny. Carla who runs the frame department is very helpful. We need more doctors like him.

Q Optical in Rhinebeck is the best optometrist ever. Yay!
Very sweet and nice doc who didn’t mind that I am totally paranoid about my eyes and flinched throughout the exam.
Friendly, patient front-​woman, who didn’t care when I tried on basically every pair of glasses ever.
Tiny shop but relatively broad and well-​chosen selection of frames — some very-​high-​end, some more ‘normal’.
Also I liked the doc’s own personal glasses and he let me try them on. :D
Problems: Sort of weird hours (since it is basically a one-​person operation, can’t expect them to work every minute I guess!) — they don’t have a website, though, and they don’t always answer the phone or seem to have a message, so it is hard to tell when they will be there, etc.
Personally I think that they should develop a web presence of some kind — doesn’t have to be big or anything, but more info would be nice.
