First Quality Shoe Repair? More like WORST Quality Shoe repair. I only gave this business one start because giving it no stars was not an option. I brought in my $ 200 cowboy boots to get resoled and the stitching fixed in December. The man who owns the shop made me pay $ 60 in advance(in cash, so I couldn’t even dispute it) and told me it would take 2 weeks. As I live in Maryland and was only home for the holidays, I was going to have my sister pick up my boots and send them down to me. I called at the 2 week mark to see if they were ready and they weren’t. Called again at the 3 week mark, still not ready — continued calling for 3MONTHS! Left messages, never received a call back. I finally called one day and the owner picked up. I was evidently upset and he was incredibly condescending and told me how horrible it was to try and fix these boots(regular, leather, store bought cowboy boots, pretty standard) to which I responded, no, what’s horrible is to wait 3 months for my boots to be fixed when I was told they’d be fixed in 2 weeks. He didn’t care, or offer any apology or to return some — if not all — of money, which would have been appropriate at this point. My sister was finally able to pick my boots up in mid-May, and they were AWFUL. The sole was terrible with a heel twice as high as my original sole, they weren’t put on or connected well, the stitching that he «repaired» was obvious and looked horrible, and he didn’t even fix all the stitching, which I suppose is a good thing considering how awful the other stitching was. If you care at all for your shoes, DONOT go here.

This cobbler has VERY limited hours. Tuesday-Saturday 10 – 1, and does not appear reliably for even those hours. When I dropped off my shoes and boots for new heels we discussed the necessity of picking them up for SURE on the following saturday. I needed them for work! When I went to get them he was NOT at the shop. I left a number of messages on his answering machine and a note taped to the front door. He did NOT call me. When I was finally able to get the items back(another week later), there was no acknowledgement or apology. His work is adequate but I would NOT recommend him unless you can leave your items for several weeks and have time to run back and forth to the shop hoping to find it open!
