E-Z Lube

I would like to give negative stars but it does not allow me. My husband went there to get an oil change only because we recently moved in down the street from the place. A few days later the engine seized and when it was towed to my mechanic, my mechanic called and asked me if I just had an oil change because there was 5 quarts to much oil in the truck and it Hydro-​seized the engine. When I called EZ Lube I spoke to manager who was unapologetic and completely rude. I then spoke to the owner who was the same way and accused us for sabotaging our own engine to just to get a new one. We have no reason to do that seeing that the truck has a warranty. Meanwhile, we run a business out of that truck and the time without having a truck is going to cost us more than the engine is worth. The owner will not give us his insurance information and basically said Ill see you in court so that is how this is going to be handled. When we were there there was another woman there yelling about how they screwed her car and I know wish I took that as a warning and left. I only hope that everyone reading this takes this as a warning! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!

I actually have been going to this place for my oil changes for several years now and have never had a major problem. I can however understand the part about them pursuing customers to get other things done but I usually say no, and just get my oil change and that’s it. Any extra things like air filters, can be purchased in AutoZone, just about a block and half away from there near Broadway. If you go on a Tuesday, they will charge you 29.99 for the oil change and even clean your car.
I give it three stars because I did notice that the person who always attends me, mentioned on both my cars that a panel was removed from the bottom (and that it seemed like something from below had dragged it). Both cars were brought in different times (more or so one — two years apart), but the same exact comment was made, and that is just a little suspicious.

I have been there for oil changes twice so far, and only because it is conveniently located to work. A coworker recommended it as a spot close by. The first time I went there, while I waiting for my oil change, the guy pulled me up to the computer and told me about all the things my car needed. I agreed to an extra procedure to the tune of $ 100. While I was waiting, I noticed that they pulled each of the other customers waiting to do the same thing. It made me feel anxious, like I had just made a huge mistake. I went back to work and mentioned it to my coworker and his response was this: «They did what? You never need to do that to a car! I should have warned you they always try to up-​sell you on stuff you don’t need. That’s what this place is famous for!» We jokingly referred to it as my «$ 100 life lesson.»
I went back for a second oil change because I desperately needed one, this time telling myself I wouldn’t fall for their antics. Sure enough, as I was waiting the mechanic pulled me to the computer. On the screen was a list of thing for him to try to sell me on. I shook my head and said, «no thanks, I’ll take it to the dealership. Just the oil change, please.» Immediately, the employee’s tone changed. He was clearly angry at me for cutting off his shtick and waved me away.
They charge $ 40 for an oil change. Forty dollars! That’s absurd when every other place charges $ 30. They also don’t give you a sticker to remind you of your milage for your next oil change, which I had assumed was standard. It’s ok, because my next oil change will certainly not be at E-​Z Lube.
THE BOTTOM LINE: When it comes to cars and mechanics, I either feel comfortable or I don’t. I either feel like they are ripping me off but I can’t prove it or I feel trust in their recommendations. E-​Z Lube made me feel uncomfortable somehow. I felt as though they were trying to take advantage of me and I felt like they were talking down to me. That’s not how anyone should feel with any business, ever. I should have checked Unilocal before going, because all the other reviews are negative as well. I would not return and I would direct my friends to go anywhere else.

yes, they get the job done quick… and that is why i brought my car here to get an oil change right before a class because it was way overdue. not only were they rude, they also do not like to listen to a customer’s request. i told them i only wanted an oil change and did not need them to vacuum nor wash the windows. when i got the car back within 15 mins and i am ready to pay… my money goes missing… and being 100% sure i stopped at the bank down the street to withdraw money for this. it should be where i left it… strange… so i talked to the manager and he looked at me like i was nuts went to check the cameras and told me you can not see anyone taking anything… mind you the camera can’t see inside the car… never ever will i ever bring my car back to this place… i’d rather wait for an hour at firestone, get synthetic oil, cheaper, and treated properly

Can you give zero stars if they steal something out of your vehicle, then deny it. only for it to be «magically» found a few minutes later somewhere in the shop? Worst oil change ever. DO NOT GET SERVICE HERE.
