Battambang Market

Great selection of SE Asian ingredients, albeit via some very narrow and cramped aisles. One of the only stores in the Boston area where I’ve been able to find fresh kaffir lime leaves.

Love coming here for some of my restaurant needs !! Very nice owners!

Great neighborhood Asian store. Produce was pretty good, they have fresh veggies, leaves and roots and stuff for most thai/​south asian cuisine.
Meats was good — basic selection of beef cuts, chicken was cheap, some pork. Fish and crab on ice, looked ok, didn’t try it. Nice staff, felt like I was being watched but they were helpful. Maybe they just wanted to know what I was going to make with my basket of random stuff!
I found everything I needed here for my thai feast.

This is a big store but you won’t be able to tell from how cluttered the place is. I kid you not. in order to move through the Isles unabated. you cannot have some weight on you whatsoever. This is the only reason why I’ve given this store 4 instead of 5 stars.
The produce is great! Everything is fresh and you’d rarely find anything that’s spoiling or molding. don’t get me wrong, there is still bad stuff but not as frequent as the other stores closer by. Another thing I liked about the place is that it lacks that «smell» that seems to permeate through most Asian grocery stores.
The best part about this place is that they have home made snacks on hand most of the time. It’s kind of expensive but being the only place that does it. can’t complain much. Another good thing is the fact that it’s the only one on Shirley Ave (decent Asian produce store that is) that sells scratch tickets. Asians. we love our scratch tickets! Plenty of parking on the street and in a private lot gives this a 4 out of 5 stars.
