Every visit leading up to Christmas was positive. The staff was very helpful answering questions checking for merchandise in the back and demonstrating various cooking tools. I don’t know her name but a lady with a British accent was especially helpful and very freindly. I had one issue with an appliance I bought and the situation was remedied by Tori extremely fast and the care shown kept me returning for more gift purchases.

I am giving williams-sonoma in general one star — Not the reston location. the reston location Always ha friendly and welcoming service. Their«helpline» on the other hand, is a JOKE. I recently made a purchase through on a day when it was free shipping. Not only did they charge me for the shipping but I was«helped» by the most disgusting, irate idotic, ridiculous person Ever through the williams-sonoma«helpline» I was put on hold for over 30 minutes, Nothing was accomplished, the«supervisor/manager» that came on th line was a JOKE. promised me to get m shipping back, of course– did NOT. I ‘ve written multiple emails to the GM of the williams-sonoma in this area and have NOT heard a thing back! HA!- what a JOKE this place is! I always thought williams-sonoma prided theirselves on Grea customer service and satisfication — Obviously NOT — i’ve called and written many a email and still NOWORDBACK — Great job on your«customer service» You have DEFINITELY lost a customer and I will make sure to spread the word!.. If you like rude/poor/slow service, go to williams-sonoma. if you want great/friendly service/fair prices, go to Sur La Table in tysons II– awesome!!!

This is not my kind of store, but my wife drags me in every once in a while and we look at stuff. Well, last time we were there I saw this knife they were selling, a French made Laguiole folding knife with a mammoth ivory and ebony wood handle. I was in awe, in love one might even say. I had to buy it, and I did. It was pretty expensive, but they had a nice discount on it that made it much cheaper than I could have found it online. The staff was very helpful, and happy to let me hold it and they did their best to answer any questions I had about it. Again, this really isn’t my kind of store, but if you need some kind of kitchen gadget/equipment, this is a great place to get it. They have all kinds of nuanced cooking materials that are difficult to find at a lot of places, and most of their goods seem to be high quality.

Very nice atmosphere surrounded by high end shops. Loved the customer service but the cashier made it a little too much about herself, that’s why I am only giving 4 stars. But, other than that I of course will come again.

Located right near the skating rink, it’s a great location, with ample selection. On weekdays, it’s pretty dead, and the staff was friendly.

Still solid for me and I’m still a big fan of Fran. Since completing my long cooking class last October, I’ve popped in to buy some things here and there, but one of my most recent purchases made me want to write an updated review. I’d been looking at a mandoline and wondered if I really needed that or a chopper. In talking about it with Fran, she was able to assess my needs based on my skill and turned my attention to a WS brand Veggie Chop. She brought out an onion and proceeded to show me how it worked. You cut up an onion into quarters, throw it in, pull the handle a few times and watch the blades chop the hell out of the onion. The more you pull, the finer the chop. Not only did she point me towards something so easy to use and clean, she saved me a bunch of money, too! This is particularly awesome for making salsa in: just throw tomatoes, onions, garlic, and whatever in it, pull the handle and voila! Fresh made salsa! I’ve made a few sauces in it, as well, to pour over fish. It’s just a very, very convenient tool when you’re looking to chop up a bunch of stuff in a hurry and your knife skills are still in their beginner stages. Great service, great store… yep, I’ll be back.

This is my least favorite Williams-Sonoma. The size is good, the place is clean, bright and cheery. However… over the years there have been more than a few times when I went there to purchase a particular item only to find it was out of stock! Geez! When will I learn? When will I stop being so trusting when it comes to this store? It goes like this — I will shop at the Tysons Corner location or the Fair Oaks one, find a food item we really like, run out of it, decide to get more. If it is on a day when we’re staying close to home, we’ll head over to Reston Town Center. We go to the area where the item should be located — and it’s not there. Next step, ask a clerk who will answer one of two ways: 1) «We ran out of it. I can call another store and ask if they have it in stock.» or; 2) «I’ll go check in the back to see if there is more.» then, wait… She comes back and says, «Sorry, we’re out of it. I can call another store…» To which, I’ll answer, «No thanks. We came here specifically for that item. Next time I’m at Tysons or Fair Oaks, I’ll get it there.» Today was the latest go-round with them. Ugh! What’s up with this particular Williams-Sonoma? Is it so popular that people are in there scooping up all the same things we want? Or is it that it is managed so poorly that not enough planning or foresight goes into deciding what to keep in stock? Or is it both? Whatever. Lesson learned. So… from now on, if I go in there again, it will be only to browse. That way, I won’t be disappointed if a wanted item isn’t there. Sigh!

As big a fan as I am of Williams-Sonoma, it’s amazing that it’s taken me this long to check out this location given that I work in a building right across the street from them in the Reston Town Center. I finally decided on purchasing a coffee canister for ground coffee, and a vacuum sealed container for whole coffee beans. I went in last week to buy both — but they were out of stock on the canister. It’s a white ceramic job with a stainless steel measuring spoon. So I had them set the coffee bean storage device on hold for me — I would wait for the coffee canister to come in and buy them both at the same time. The canister was supposed to arrive last week — but no one called me — so I went in yesterday to check — the lady working the counter — Kristin — told me they had just arrived earlier that day, so fetched my products and rang me up. I am now ready to start grinding me some fresh beans and making some yummy java!

It’s fun to browse in this attractive, small Williams Sonoma store located at the back of the Hyatt Hotel building in Reston Town Center. Not only for gourmet cooks, it’s known for carrying high-end cooking equipment, linens, specialty food items, cookbooks, baking dishes and tableware. As each holiday and season rolls by, natures color changes are mimicked in the window displays. Because of it’s size, this store does not have a large sampling of products. Customers do however, have access to their computerized wedding registry enabling them to order and directly ship gifts for a fee. During the winter holiday season, boxes of chocolates, peppermints and nut treats quickly disappear with local regulars who anticipate the luscious arrivals each year and probably do a little hoarding. Personally, I have a passion for the caramel-pecan clusters!
