Small Change Consignments & Crafts

Found this place today on an internet search while looking for a place to buy some maternity clothes. I am due next month and didn’t want to spend a lot on winter maternity clothes when I’d only be wearing them for a few more weeks. As the other reviewers stated, I was a little overwhelmed with the sheer volume of merchandise in the store (mostly kids clothes), and it was a little difficult to navigate through with my big baby bump. There was a small room in the back with a nice selection of maternity clothes in various sizes, styles, and prices. I purchased a pair of jeans, long-​sleeve shirt, and a nice sweater, all for under $ 40, and they were all in really great condition (and name brand — Motherhood Maternity & Gap). I only glanced at the baby clothes and the ones I happened to look at were priced more than what I’d be willing to pay. However, the owner was very nice and personable and really took an interest to me. I will probably return and browse the selection again. :)

When I walked in the store my first thought was OMG. There were so many things packed into one little space it was overwhelming. I could barely look through the clothes, as the racks were too stuffed. I did see a few cute outfits but was not impressed with the price. I found a nice pair of baby dress shoes (which is why I came) but they were $ 16 and were not in the best condition. I barely pay $ 16 for a pair of new shoes for my kid now! I may come back next time I’m in the area to give it a 2^nd shot, because I was not impressed.

Love this place. They sell quality clothes for children (through about pre-​teens) and babies at reasonable prices in addition to baby supplies like strollers, swings, carriers, and buntings. Expect to find brands like Carter’s, Hanna Andersen, Ralph Lauren, Gymboree, and Children’s Place, among others.
There’s also a small maternity section in the back. The only real drawback of this store is that it is *so* tightly packed that it’s sometimes difficult to move around.

Cool gem in the burbs, it’s tucked away in a shopping center by Lake Anna & getting there is short drive from the Reston Town Center. Jam packed small consignment shop with wall to wall baby/​kids clothes, so be prepared to rumage — this place is tight with lots of books & crannies. Pricing is fair, like any consignment shop you gotta go in for the hunt. it beats paying full price anyday! They even sell really cool new/​non-​used wooden toys by Melissa & Doug. My favorite is a wooden sushi set which the friendly owner helped me find when i was looking for cool gift ideas. They have one room of used Maternity clothes (about the size of a walk in closet), bookshelves of kids books, maternity/​reference books, strollers, front carriers, etc…
