Reston Ear Nose and Throat

I changed my review — as I have had a cronic sore throat for over 1 year, have been to this office 5 times, and still no answer as to what the issue is. I was told it was GERD, I went and got an $ 2,400 endoscopy down my throat and stomach, I checked out fine, now they told me it’s allergies, and I just paid $ 342 for the allergie test — even after I told them I know what I am allergic too, and the whole time I got the test, I said oh yeah I am totally alleric to cats, and she said omg your really are. So no stomach problems and allergies I already know about, and over $ 4,000 worth of medical bills and I still have a very sore throat and occasional pain.

The Dr visit went well… but when time came to billing my insurance they did that & then they billed another insurance carrier then charged me $ 275 for visit. I left a message on their voice mail for them to correct this mistake… no response. I called again today & no answer.
Becareful of possible insurance fraud.

Very appreciative of Dr. Lee’s care and skill. He thoroughly explained everything to me, weighing the pros and cons of different options and took the extra time to ask if I had any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend this office!

My entire experience with Reston ENT & Dr, Hwang was excellent! Dr. Hwang performed 4 different procedures for me and there was no pain, no bleeding and I only had to wear a bandage for one day. I have friends who have had these procedures and they were not nearly as happy as I am. I just went to my Post-​op appointment today and everything is good. I cannot remember ever breathing so easily and clearly. Out of five stars I give him six!

I was a new patient as well as new to the area. Unfortunately I had gone into the wrong building for my appt. I called the office to let them know I was running late as well as asking for directions. At the time of the call I was 8 minutes late. When I finally made it to the office 10 minutes later I was disturbed to find the receptionist wearing slippers instead of proper shoes for a Dr.‘s office! Upon checking me in I had informed her I had just called to let them know I was running late. She asked who I spoke to. I told her I didn’t think it was necessary to ask. (There is only 2 receptionists) She proceeded to do what I thought was a lot of typing and the walked away from the desk without saying anything to me. When she returned she informed me I couldn’t be seen because I was late. I told her I had called and should’ve been informed that when I called. She then again inquired who I had spoke to and what time I had called. I told her that I needed to be seen. And she turned and walked away without a word to me again. I finally called out to the office manager who was sitting in her office. I told her I had called about being late and lost. She responded with — «yes we goggled to see if you had in fact called» and she told me the time of the call. Excuse me? I didn’t think I would have to prove to them I called! I told her I was offended at the lack of professionalism by her staff.
Dr.Lee was unconcerned about the dress and conduct of his staff. As I expressed to him, his staff is a reflection on him and his practice. He had no response. The nurse in the exam room told me that she was constantly hearing complaints from patients and didn’t deal with the front office on purpose.
I was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism. And I will be finding another ENT. Dr. Lee failed to live up to what I would expect from a Dr.‘s office.

Dr. Edwin Lee is a superb doctor. His minimally invasive procedures and attention to detail are great assets to the office !

The nurse practitioner was good at listening and suggesting meds for my allergy symptoms. She answered all my questions. The reception, however, was very inefficient. Before I left I asked for a copy of my prescription and they said they are paperless and send them automatically to the pharmacy the patients request. The idea of this sounded awesome to me. I went to the pharmacy the next day and after a long wait in line they tell me they have nothing for me. I called reston ENT and the lady I spoke with said only one of the two medications I needed to take needed prescription and that she could send that to the pharmacy. I asked her to please send all the info to the pharmacy because I had nothing written down for the meds I needed. She said she’d take care of it and call the pharmacy. A couple min later the pharmacist told me reston ENT had called for me… That they tried to send only one prescription but that this was over the counter so she showed me which aisle I could pick up this allergy med and they had not sent them the name or mg of the other meds I needed. Very inefficient. If you’re going to charge and not use paper (which in theory sounds brilliant to me) make sure the job gets done and your patients get what was intended. Won’t be going back to this place.

I have seen Crystal at Reston ENT a couple of times. She is great, but the front office staff has made me call it quits there after a couple of repeat encounters. I recently tried to get an appointment for a sinus infection. Crystal was out, no one else was available, and the next available appointment was after the weekend. Knowing I couldn’t make it through the weekend, I asked if they could refer me elsewhere. I was told to go to Urgent Care or the emergency room. Seriously? The ER? For a sinus infection?

I suffer from frequent sinus infections and Reston ENT is my go-​to medical office. I especially love Dr. Hwang and his bedside manner. Not one to quickly dispense antibiotics, he takes his time to go over symptoms and level of severity. Due to the chronic nature of my infections, he’s even investigating possible allergies and other causes to alleviate my infections. On occasions when I can’t see Dr. Hwang, I will see Crystal (the nurse practitioner). Crystal is friendly, efficient and lovely to chat with.

I have recurring ear infections that my primary care doctor cannot cure! Actually the ENT doctor I initially saw here could not adequately cure the problem (which was fungal not bacterial). I couldn’t get into see him on one occasion, so I saw the nurse practitioner! Divine Intervention because Nurse Crystal cured me! I needed to keep the ear dry so putting drops in it was counter-​productive. Duh? Crystal used anti-​fungal powder and the issue cleared up within 24 hours. If you are a new patient, you will not get in right away, but it’s worth the wait, because once you are a patient, they will see you right away. I’ve never had a sinus infection in my life, but caught one from a coworker, and luckily because I was already a patient, I got right in quickly. I asked for Crystal, and her recommended meds put me on the mend immediately. Crystal is a Southern gal with lots of sass, and she’s determined to make you feel better. She knows what she’s doing. I am a very happy patient!
