I can’t say enough about RCC. My daughter’s vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. Everyone is so nice and it truly feels like a community. The play based education model is simply perfect for my toddler.
The leadership is dedicated to making sure the children have amazing care/​educational experience and the teachers are top notch.

I absolutely LOVE Reston Children’s Center. My 3 year old son started at RCC when he was 16 weeks old. I now have my 9 month old daughter in the program as well. The teachers really seem to love what they do and that has a huge impact on the happiness and well being of the kids.

This is so far the best Early Childhood Development program I have had the pleasure of experiencing.
The teachers are incredibly well-​educated, experienced and dedicated to their job.
The open environment and multi-​age «open times» offers a very diverse social environment for children. Every child is able to find a friend to play with at the different centers.
The management of this center is top-​notch. You can tell they care for their teachers just as much as they care for the children at their center.
This is a center that invests in retaining a high-​quality environment and staff.
Since relocating to Austin, TX in 2012 I have not witnessed an equally comparable center.

My husband and I trust RCC like true family to care for our «babies», now 9 and 12. From the infant/​toddler to preschool to school age, they have been simply WONDERFUL. They hold a very special place in our hearts, and always will!!! We feel extremely fortunate to have been a part of the RCC community for almost 12 years!

When 110 toddlers in the preschool program share the same toys and water fountain (as opposed to only 14 in a traditional classroom), the result is a child who is sick the entire winter.

We’re thrilled with our experience at RCC. Our daughter has really enjoyed her time in their preschool program and she’s learning and growing as a person everyday. The teachers and staff are caring and knowledgeable. There are fun extras like the monthly field trip, PE class, and yoga. They have a full kitchen onsite where they prepare the lunches and snacks. A bonus for working parents, their preschool program is year-​round, so there’s no need to cobble together summer coverage.

Our family has been at RCC for almost 3 years, and we love it! The sense of community, the long-​tenured and committed teachers, and especially the program director — all wonderful. I appreciate the individual attention that is given to my children (all children are assigned a primary caregiver). I love that the children — from babies to school age — get to spend time outside in a lovely setting. Food is provided (from formula up to full-​scale meals), which is extremely helpful when you have two working parents. Highly recommend!

We have been at RCC for over 5 years now and we’ve loved every minute of it. The teachers and staff are experts in their field as they prepare children for their school years and provide after school care. The Infant/​Toddler program is in a seperate building where the wee ones get the care they need with lots of Individual attention; the teachers get down on the floor and play with the babies. And unlike other child care centers I visited, the babies do NOT sit in swings (there aren’t any swings at RCC).
The preschool program teaches the kids and encourages them to explore their curiosities. They have a huge library, do all kinds of different activities that give them a strong sense of community and they go on field trips regularly. They also prepare the kids well for school by teaching them to write their letters and numbers. They recently upgraded the playground with lots of new equipment.
And the schoolage program and summer camp are a complete blast … In a structured environment. During the summer, the kids are all over town visiting fun places and going to the pool several times a week.
What truly sets RCC apart from the rest is it’s amazingly long teacher tenure (over 15 years, I believe); lots of parent involvement, thanks to it being a parent owned cooperative, and that it’s one of the few programs in the area with NAEYC accreditation.
The staff are so good with the kids; they’re always exploring new things and the kitchen staff are amazing.
I’d give them 6 stars if I could.
