Melting Pot

I can’t tell you enough about how this place saved the day. Having a 17 month old and sitter time restrictions for my wife and I’s 8^th year wedding anniversary left us scrambling to figure out what to do with ourselves. We originally made a reservation for this place and last minute cancelled when my wife decided to go to a restaurant in Tysons. $ 50 dollars later and not at all satisfied with our decision my wife and I decide to bail out of this restaurant and head to the melting pot for a last ditch effort to salvage our evening together and just get the cheese, salad and dessert course. We told our story to Zack, our server, and even though we misspoke about what cheese course we wanted, quickly and free of charge replaced it with what we wanted. He further salvaged the evening by bringing a celebratory champagne toast at dessert. This was followed by the manager approaching us telling us he heard what happened and took a complimentary picture of us to take home. He then put the nail in the coffin by giving us a $ 50 gift certificate to use for our next year anniversary to make up for the money we wasted at the other restaurant.
THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE. Great staff, great food and we should’ve just stuck to the original reservation in the first place. We ended up having a really great night and special anniversary. Can’t thank these guys enough. We’ll be regulars there from here on out.

Love the Melting Pot chain, the concept, the food. This particular restaurant is lovely, food delicious. Unfortunately, our waiter didn’t refill our water at all for the entire three hours we were there, got soft drinks only when asked, and didn’t ask for drink orders when our wine glasses were empty. Our bar bill would have been far larger if he had. In fact, we had to hunt him down to pay the bill. Luckily, my friends and I always have a good time and we were able to commiserate together. Will choose another Reston watering hole next time! Too bad.

I love this place. The staff is great & the meals are delicious! I frequent this restaurant a lot and will continue to do so!

This is not a meal… it’s a journey. Without a good server as your guide, your journey will not be as enjoyable. Prepare to spend three hours at the restaurant, especially if you choose the four course meal (best choice, I highly recommend it). We had Zach, and he was great. An obvious veteran server at fine restaurants, he made all of the right recommendations and explained every single thing he placed on the table. He was social, engaged in conversation, anticipated all of our needs, and was a genuinely nice guy. He skillfully interacted with the kids at the table, speaking to them, not down to them. They even walked out commenting on how great our server was. There was a concerted effort between servers and management to maximize the enjoyment of the patrons, including requesting feedback through their online survey printed on cards and provided with the check. After completing the survey at the table, we received a gift card from the manager as a thanks for doing so. We’ve been to The Melting Pot in Arlington, one in New York, and this one. This was by far the best experience out of the dozen times we’ve eaten at one of these restaurants. I attribute this directly to the server. Ask for Zach when you eat there, and you’ll see why.

Wow! The staff and management at this melting pot could not have been more friendly and welcoming during the planning and actual sweet 16 party for my daughter! They helped me figure out the menu and were so attentive during the entire party. So much fun– she loved it! Thank you Andrew, April, Melody (Melanie?) and everyone else that made it a great night.
