SpringHill Suites Seattle South/Renton

Super clean suites! Great location– close to stores, shopping, Riparian Forrest Park (great paved trails for running, walking, biking) …and very quiet. Breakfast buffet was AMAZING! Eggs, breakfast meats (sausage, etc), cereal, oatmeal, lots of bagels and breads, yogurt, juice, fruits and so much more. Great price, good choice for our stay!!! Will note this one for our next stay here.

Always had a good experience with spring hill and the seattle/​renton one was just the same.
Like most spring hill suites, its got all you need without the thrills… coffee maker, large room, clean room, gym, pool, free breakfast, free parking, etc.
Location was great as its about 10 minutes away from seattle and 15 minutes away from Bellevue.
One thing we didn’t like was the walls were pretty thin so if people next door spoke loud you could hear them pretty well.
Overall, we were happy with our stay, staff was friendly and we would definitely stay there again.

I stopped into the lobby of SpringHill Suites to ask for directions to a coffee shop and I was early to an appointment at a place down the street. DJ helped me by offering to let me wait in their lobby. I bought a soda from their small «quick food» area and waited in their lobby for nearly an hour. DJ came by to check on me during my wait. Since then, I have recommended SpringHill Suites Seattle to several friends and business acquaintances. Clearly, they know how to hire personable people that know the meaning of customer service and how to attract new customers.

Horrible. Worst experience at any Marriott in the last 20 yrs.
Room ok but bed very lumpy. Fan not working in bathroom. But this would not have been a big deal if they would have actually provided the service that we stayed there for.
We were flying out of Seattle and asked about the shuttle service as well as leaving our car for An 8 day vacation.
No problem! They said.
We have a nice shuttle van with curbside service to airport 24 hrs a day. They said.
Well, service to airport no problem.
But when we arrived back in Seattle at 9pm 8 days later, it was a BIG problem. We called immediately to alert them that we were arriving, specifics where we would be and we waited and waited. 30 min later we called again. KELCEY (night manager) said, driver on his wAy, no problem see you in a few.
30 minutes later no driver.
We called again and were told that he would be coming.
At midnight they said we should hail a cab because nothing was coming. No shuttle!
We got a cab and arrived to hotel at approx 1am!!!
A smug and laughing KELCEY, and the driver (smoking on bench in front of hotel) to Greet us!
She did reimburse for cab fare, but we waited almost 3 hrs to be told to get a cab! It was the weirdest and worst experience we’ve ever had at Marriott.
DONT DONT DONT stay here thinking you’ll get s shuttle. Read the reviews throughly. 4 stars is very deceptive and most of the reviews rated «terrible» are because of the promises not kept.
Truly an terrible experience.

Stayed here overnight. Nice room, great bed. Breakfast in lobby in AM. Had to go ask for more coffee and fruit. 8:46 had maid knocking on our door to see if we had left yet. Checkout time noon. They have no way to communicate? THAT was annoying, especially for a Marriott!

Excellent for a quick nights’ stay. I got a very good rate and I usually stay with either Marriott or Hilton brands. I usually stay at extended stay hotels, such as this one. The town Place suites is right next door and I prefer their rooms a lot better.
This room is fine, modern, small bathroom with the sink outside, one television that you share between the living room and bedroom, a small flat screen about 32 inches. The bed is ultra comfortable and soft though.
Internet is free and of course breakfast is complementary from 6 AM until 10 AM.

Stayed here with my family for 2 nights (last weekend). Very comfortable, nice colors and shades on walls and interior, spacious, neat and clean. Overall very satisfying stay. Would recommend.

This property is going through a major renovation, and you’ll find the new rooms to be crisp fresh spacious and amazing value for the $$ spent. Location is great for zipping up to Seattle, down to Tacoma or out to Bellevue.
They have a pool and sports court and are directly adjcent to the Green River walknig trail.

I am a Marriott «snob». If I need a hotel room, I always book with Marriott.
The Springhill Suites in Renton wasn’t fantastic. But it wasn’t terrible either.
The parking was plentiful, and free. That’s something that is really hard to come by, in the Seattle area.
The housekeeping service was a complaint-​free issue for me, as well. They did a great job.
The average stuff was:
Breakfast. It was very standard. Although, I will say that the employee in charge of breakfast did a great job at keeping the dining area clean!
The rooms. They weren’t terribly modern (think: popcorn ceilings, dated bathroom fixtures. Hello! Ridiculously low shower head!, etc…) but they weren’t shabby either. We were supposed to be put in a «larger» suite, but I am fairly certain we were put in a regular room. When the sofa bed was folded out the end of the bed was directly against the entertainment center. It completely cut the room off. The only way to get from one end of the room, to the other, was to climb over the bed. Very annoying.
The workout room. It had 2 treadmills, an elliptical, & a set of weights.
The location. I felt like we were in a safe area. And it was nice that there wasn’t any traffic noise inside the hotel. But the hotel is not within waking distance to anything! And the nearby places that I drove to we’re pretty sketchy (scary Walmart, I’m looking at you!).
The biggest ‘CON’, for me, was their indoor pool. Ultimately, I decided on this particular hotel because of the rate, and the fact that it had an indoor pool.
The pool, & hot tub were small, but adequate. It was the flooring/​tile all around the pool area that was the problem. It was slippery as all get out!
I cannot count the number of times that my kids slipped on it. Even when they were walking! Every single one of us hit the deck (hard) when we were walking on that wet tile.
Of course, my kids wanted to go swimming every night. And, OF COURSE, every swimming session ended in tears, because someone acquired more bumps and bruises, from falling down on the pool deck, than they could take.
It was a viscous cycle.
And for that reason, I won’t stay at this Marriott hotel again. It may seem nitpicky. But in our family, swimming while on vacation is a big deal.
For me, it’ll be worth it to pay the extra & stay at the Residence Inn, in Bellevue, next time we are in Seattle.
But if you get a good rate, and don’t care about using a pool… By all means, stay at the Springhill Suites in Renton.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast food was varied and tasty. Most importantly, the staff was always friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again! It has all the amenities I need.

This Springhill has become my second home. It’s been recently renovated, so compared to the other three hotels next door, I think this one’s the best. All the rooms have a small kitchen area (mini fridge, microwave, sink, paper plate/​disposable utensils), a living area and the bed area.
I like their breakfast in the morning — though I stick to their fruit and greek yogurt. They also have a couple hot items and those great make-​your-​own waffle machines.
Fitness center only has weights, treadmill, elliptical, and bike machine. So nothing fancy.
The hotel has a shuttle to/​from the airport. It’ll also take you to surrounding restaurants or the mall, which is handy if you’re on business and don’t want to rent a car. Only complaint is that there is not much around Renton. So if you want to go farther, get your own car.

Some people may have issues with the definition of a «suite» but I think for the money (at least what I paid for) it was the best deal in town. Renton isn’t that far from the airport and I was fine with the location; very little if any noise from the highway as it is not a hotel immediately adjacent the I405.
The rooms were clean and although they may be smaller than the kitchenettes/​suites of the Marriott Courtyards it suited me just well for 2 people. Although the couch is a pull out I can see it getting cramped if you tried sharing a Queen sized suite with 3 people.
Didn’t try the wireless internet as most hotel’s wireless internet connections are slow and not worth the trouble. Not to mention insecure. If you are traveling I’d recommend upgrading your cellular data plan if you can use your phone as a personal hot spot, or better yet a 4G/​LTE personal wifi device.
The free continental breakfast is better than what you’d get at most 2 star hotels. Fresh fruit, do-​it-​yourself waffles, hard boiled eggs, toast/​bagels. I think there was a game in town so it was a bit crowded in the seating area and there is not a whole lot of room to maneuver. Also the OJ tasted a bit strange but I’m sure that was either a powder mix or some sort of bulk concentrate. Coffee was located in a different area.
Service was spot-​on but I didn’t rely on them very much as everything went smoothly. Plenty of parking.
Didn’t use the workout room or pool but the workout room appeared to have newer equipment than most 2 star hotels.
I’d definitely stay there again for the same price.

Rooms are not set up well. Large enough, they just don’t flow well. One TV on a small dresser that sits between the sitting area and the bedroom. So to watch TV in the bedroom, you must move the dresser and angle the TV. The whole suite idea implies 2 rooms, this isn’t, it’s one big room with a half wall to separate the couch from the bed.
Wireless Internet is terrible. Bad coverage and slow. They claim to be upgrading soon.
Breakfast is just ok. Eggs are the frozen kind, sort of scary looking. Waffles are pretty good.
Parking was free and we never saw any riff-​raff from the peeler joint around the corner.

Fairly new place, was clean and convenient to the freeway. Very quiet place to stay. Reception was great. The girl went out of her way to keep us away from the noisy kids on the 2^nd floor. Will definitely stay here again. It was a little pricey but I was able to get a discount through my labor union.

Springhill Suites is a brand that is part of the Marriott family of hotels. I haven’t totaly figured out Marriott’s rankings hierarchy of their brands as to price vs. amenities, but is something like this:

4. Residence Inn
5. Courtyard by Marriotts
6. Springhill Suites
7. Townplace Suites
8. Fairfield Inn
Of course prices vary by location, time of year, special event, and type of booking, so in price terms, the hierachy can fluctuate. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8 are generally single rooms, and 4, 6 and 7 are two rooms. The first 3 are usually full service, with full restaurants, valet, business services and more. Residence Inn has no full service restaurant, but offers a full 2 room suite with kitchen, more for extended stays, resembling an apartment. Courtyard has 1 restaurant with basic meals. Springhill and Townplace have limited food, as in continental breakfast (included). Fairfield usually just has rooms in more of a motel type construction.
Often you will find several brands clustered together. At this Springhill Suites in Renton, there is a Townplace Suites right next to it, sharing a parking lot and access road. There isn’t much difference between them, so given the choice, go for the Springhill Suites, since you will get a full 10 points per dollar spent on your loyalty program, and I think Townplace is half that. I have stayed at both and can’t tell them apart. Prices are also similar.
They are near Boeing and not far from Sea-​Tac, with a shuttle for both to the airport. Since there isn’t much to eat, if you have a car, they are building a huge big box mall near Boeing in Renton (near the Fry’s Electronics) and there are ethnic and chain food places dotted around nearby. If you want to drive a little farther, go to Bellevue for finer dining and down to Federal Way for more ethnic dining, or drive up to Seattle.

I used to work at this Marriott and only have the best to say about it. If you get lucky you’ll get a really good price on a room. The employees are nice and you even get a shuttle to and from the airport and to nearby restaurants and stores.
