Sacred Soul Tattoo

We lucked out and got an appt. on short notice. I wanted a sun tattoo and my friend wanted a matching moon tattoo, fairly simple work. It was stencil, no shading, but we both wanted extra fine lines!!! Ryan Hammond did an absolutely amazing job! He squinted his way through two and a half hours of my new favorite tattoo with a pleasant attitude. Highly recommend! :)

what an amazing artist! i recently lost one of my 14 year old kitties and knew that i wanted to have his and his brother’s portraits tattooed on my arm. i have been to slave to the needle in wallingford and had a good experience there, but when i saw michelle’s animal portraits in her portfolio, i knew she was the one for this piece. she also came recommended by 2 friends, so that was good, too.
she’s hard to get time with, so you have to be patient. it took 6 weeks to get my first appointment and that was only because of a cancellation, and my next 2 are 6 – 8 weeks apart. but here’s the thing: this is a piece of art that is going to be on my body forever and has tremendous sentimental value. i am willing to wait for the right person to do it.
her customer service is great, too. she’s impossible to get ahold of, so i had to stop into the shop whenever i wanted to talk to her about planning (i live ¾ of a mile away, so no issue for me), but once i was in the chair, she got to show how much she really cares about her clients and her business. the first phase took an hour & a half longer than she expected, so she gave me the excess time free; she really understood exactly what i wanted and made it work; she doesn’t do small pieces because she isn’t good at them and has the integrity not to do work she can’t be proud of, but she made the portraits as small as she could so they could go on my arm. that really meant a lot to me.
if you want a piece you’re very serious about — especially a large piece — i highly recommend michelle.

I’m just gonna come right out and say it… Michelle is my big sister whom I respect so much for how dedicated she is to her work! I personally don’t have any tattoos because they are way too permanent for me… it’s not like I would never want one, it’s just that in this time of my life there is nothing that I want to permanently put on my body :) With that said, when and if that time comes, the ONLY person that I will trust putting a needle to my skin is Michelle! Our bodies are our temples, and I want only the best! If you have that same outlook, then Michelle is the one for you. She isn’t the type of artist with ugly clip art all over her walls and just spends five minutes with you to copy a clip art image on your arm and call it good (which was probably the same tattoo that was just finished on the previous client). No… she is a custom artist! NOBODY will ever have the same tattoo as you if it is done by Michelle. I have watched her since day one as an intern, and all I can say is that you won’t find another artist who is as passionate and detail oriented about the work that she does… so if that means your tattoo takes a little longer than planned, just know it’s because she puts her pride in EVERY piece that she does, and she doesn’t settle for mediocre. For crying out loud… the thing is gonna be a part of you FOREVER!!! I wouldn’t expect anything less from a tattoo artist!!! I have watched Michelle for many years now work over 12 hour days, and then head straight home to spend the rest of her night drawing up custom pieces for her clients, meanwhile trying to raise a family. If that’s not dedication, than I don’t know what is??? Oh, and in regards to cancellations… no need to worry about that… trust me I’m her sister… it was like pulling teeth for her to actually attend my last minute wedding (good old military life). Unless she is in the hospital with dang kidney stones or her daughter falls ill, then you know where to find her… at the shop. Lord know she’s there more than her own home :) She truly is the best!

Michelle is the most talented women tattoo artist I have ever known. She does incredible work, I have sat with her for over 35 hours, she did both of my sleeves that are gorgeous. She salvaged a botched tat and turned it into a piece of art that I show off proudly. She does have a life outside the shop, what a shock! But she has been devoted to making me happy with my art even at her own personal sacrific, while having kidney stones for example. she makes you feel instantly comfortable and makes the hours float by, even if your in pain! She is usually booked pretty far in advance because she is so good, but that is a sign of some one who is talented!

Michelle is one of the kindest and most talented artists in the Seattle area, nay, the World! I’ve been tattooed by her locally and in Europe and I can say with complete pride and confidence that her work is the best I have ever had.
I constantly have people commenting on my piece that is still a WIP. It’s agreed that the black & white shading work she’s done is one of the best most people have seen. If you want a great tattoo from a custom artist that will wow your friends or wow yourself every time you see it, this is the place to go! There might be a waiting list, but there is a reason for that and the wait is totally worth it. She is not just a tracer, but an artist and will give you a truly unique and intimate piece of art on your body. You have to remember that you are marking your body for «life» and if you can’t wait a month to get it, than you need to calm down and think about who would be doing your 0-​day tattoo and how many pieces they turn out every day that they trace onto your arm and don’t care about the second you walk out the door.
In Amsterdam I watched her tattoo several pieces and they all turned out beautifully! Her clients always leave happy and completely satisfied with what they got. One girl said she would never get a tattoo, but after watching Michelle for a while and looking at her portfolio, decided that she would be the one to give her a first and possibly only tattoo.

CLEAN, comfortable, really different type of setting. Michelle is fantastic and very enthusiastic about what she does. Ryry was up from Idaho and he did my wrist band and it is fantastic. Great ideas on how to brighten it up and help me make it even more «me.» I would highly recommend Sacred Soul to anyone!

Had a great experience here getting my first tattoo. The artist knows her stuff, though she has only been practicing for a year. She does amazing work for only doing it a short time. She does other art forms, too, which contributes to her success.
This is a fairly new shop (only opened in Sept 06), so word hasn’t gotten out far and wide yet. Michelle is a perfectionist in her work, wanting every detail just right and the client’s happiness is of utmost importance. She has made her place family friendly with a kid’s play room stocked with videos and toys… perfect for those who would otherwise not get the tattoo of their dreams for lack of a babysitter for the time such a thing takes.
