My non profit organization wanted to host a lunch, so I booked a table online for 10 people. Nowhere did it say that there was a charge for the table. Even when I called to confirm and put an order in for the food — no one told me that there would be an additional charge. So when we received the bill with an extra $ 40 tacked on, and our server didn’t seem phased at all that I was surprised and confused by it(when I asked why this was happening he said it was«standard», and when I said that no one had informed me he didn’t say anything other than to hand me the bill and walk away), I was extremely disappointed. We payed because it’s the right thing to do, but I believe it’s illegal to add additional costs without informing a customer that you’re doing it. We won’t be coming back.

Val’s the best try the spaghetti carbonara, so delicious for people who aren’t a fan of red sauce. Best Italian food in town.

Wish I could give zero stares. My friend and I tried to eat here tonight. Walked in at 930 workers were sitting at the bar, and told ys kitchen is closed. The hours are until 10…

Has reservation for New Years Eve, the service was lacking, friendly but extremely slow and seldom checked on the table. Both neighboring tables came in after us and almost completed their meals before we even got food. The only saving grace was the veal shank was fabulous. Had to get up to find a server to get the check.

I hope Andy, my friendly neighborhood bartender, is reading this because I told him I’d post… stopped by Marianna for the first time. Always enjoy finding(and supporting) local businesses. Decided to try the bruschetta duo & calamari. Kinda disappointed that for $ 5, you only get 2 pieces of bruschetta! Come on now. However, the aioli served with the calamari is enough to warrant returning. I’ll be back to try the pizza and maybe some other happy hour deals

The food was great ordered chicken parmesan, veal, calamari for appetizer and chocolate cake for dessert. Everything above par but what always does it for me is the service(and company of course). Don’t review a restaurant when your on an internet date having a terrible time… It’s just not fair. The wait staff were prompt, always refilling my water(which is ALOT) friendly and inviting. Our waiter Andrew Johnson was what I personally look for in a waiter,(and presidential candidate) hilarious, honest, and fun. Service always is a deal breaker for me, and his presence just added to the delicious food and great company. Thanks to you all for a great Monday night :)

Pasta to perfection, clams plump and tender, tiramisu creamy & delicious. Service excellent. Wanted a glass of Shirah, only available in a bottle, but gave us a taster in a glass without bottle price. Top notch. Definitely coming back.

What a find. This restaurant has wonderful ambiance and delicious food at a very reasonable price. I had penne forte with prawns and my boyfriend had veal marsala. Both were excellent.

Wow Sal you did it again as always. Wonderful antipasto bar, who knew I liked artichoke? It appears Sal did. So flavorful, asked how it was prepared, olive oil? Man I need a better source for it. Main course the Salmone Lemone, pasta and grilled veggies. Salmon was perfectly done. The guy they have recommending wine now, nailed the wine pairing perfect. Highly recommend this place guys. I have had a 3 star experience here, but the perfect nights outweigh the bad. And the three star nights I can’t say were totally their fault. I like their cooking so much I am not afraid to try something new. I can tell you, there is very few places that I have this level of confidence in.

Hospitable service from Mario, delicious pasta, and generous pours of wine! I came here with a few girlfriends for dinner. Everyone but my pregnant best friend had the house red wine(tasty). Oh man was it a generous pour! You typically get 12 oz. of wine in a glass, but we were given wine almost filled to the brim(I’m not complaining!). All the pastas we each ordered were not too salty, perfectly al dente, were generous portions and everything was at a affordable price. We all split a tiramisu but I was too full to indulge(next time!) I’ll definitely be back to bring my bf to try, the next time we crave Italian food. Not sure why there are complaints from others, but I had a great experience. Hidden gem in Renton. Grazi!

Check in with Unilocal and save some money. Service was superb. Our waiter and wait staff were very attentive and good at what they do. The food lacked a bit of a punch. The leak pizza sounded delicious but it came out looking a bit dry and sad. I think there needed a sauce of some sort or more cheese to tie it all together. The gnocchi tasted nice and sautéed calamari was good. Not sure if I would come back here, maybe it would just be an annual thing.

We stumbled into Marianna by mere happenstance: we had driven down to Renton from Seattle to see a play and were going to eat at Blossom before the show — until we walked in and realized they didn’t have a full bar(and we were definitely in a cocktail mood). So we wandered a bit and saw the large lettering in two of Marianna’s many windows that said COCKTAILS and MARTINIS. Ah, success! The restaurant is nicely appointed in a traditional manner — white table cloths, nice place settings, a designer’s eye on the warm lighting — not at all tacky or in any way stuffy. It was just right. Our waiter was very nice, the cocktails were good, and the food was extremely good! I had the beef tortellini, which was fabulous — savory, light, perfectly cooked, a nice realistic portion size, and reasonably priced. My companion had the vodka penne and said it was wonderful. Toward the end of the meal, one of the two owners came into the restaurant in a flourish of affection with the hostess and manager, and then started«working the room» — beginning at our table. He was an Italian man with a thick accent and loads of charisma, it turns out his daughter was our server. Clearly he took great pride in the place and it showed. Twas a fun cherry on top of the experience. The play, by the way, was a disaster — we left at intermission — so Marianna ended up being the highlight of the trip and well worth the drive down south. Thanks for a surprising us with a delightful evening!

This place is a legit Italian experience. I have been dining at their other owned restaurant in Bellevue Frenzies since I was a little girl, its been a great place for family get together or a romantic date night. We will definitely be back.

I really wanted to like this place. I really did. Eating at Melrose across the street from it, I had seen it many times just never bit the bullet to go in. This all changed one afternoon leaving the water park and craving some Italian to pick up on the way home. First of all, the older Italian man I spoke to on the phone was super short and to say he lacked customer service would be too kind. I met the same man at the restaurant and his demeanor was equally as discomforting and inhospitable in person. A younger lady at the bar, maybe the owner or an off duty manager seemed to be watching him like a hawk. All of this might have been forgivable if it wasn’t for the fact that the pizza was extremely small for the price(but good) and the spaghetti bolognese practically had no sauce on it. Someone clearly isn’t watching the kitchen so this attempt at a NY/Italy style restaurant in downtown Renton is likely to fail.

Service was terrible. Waited an hour for our food, no explanations as to why. Only 2 of our 3 pizzas were delivered to our table, again no explanation why. After we finished both pizzas and the serving plates were cleared by the bus boy I asked him what happened to our other pizza, only THEN did our waiter come and explain that they burned their first attempt! The host who greeted us was arrogant and asked us if we had a reservation, with only 1 other party in the whole damn restaurant. He acted like we were under dressed for their fine establishment — very uninviting — the complete opposite of a warm and friendly italian dinning experience. The food tasted good, but the portions were small and it was way over priced. We will never go back.

The service in this restaurant is consistently sub-par. The food is always pretty good, however. What a conundrum. I’ve been 4 times, and haven’t returned in the last year because I just can’t handle the inattentiveness and awkwardness of the staff. In my experience, staff was forgetful, overly familiar, inexperienced in course-dropping, and oddly defensive. My husband has a weird story about all the staff deserting the restaurant while he was there by himself for happy hour. He needed to pay, and had to wait for someone to come back. Not sure what they were up to, but it was odd. He refuses to go back. I would suggest Santiago train his staff in professional service. This is a missed opportunity for a highly lucrative business.

I promised my wife a relaxing night and this was it. We were going to the theater down the street(Renton Civic theater) and wanted to start the evening off with a great meal. A pleasant surprise was they had a two piece music group — base and guitar plus singer playing — great music 50’s rock and Christmas We had a pizza and the Spaghetti Bolognese. Both were decent — plus the service was friendly and helpful. Overall a great dinner.
