Maplewood Espresso

I just wanted to take the time to not necessarily give a review about the coffee itself at this stand but the person in charge. As someone with several years of coffee experience and exposure to several owners, I have been able to get to know a lot of people. The owner at this stand is NOT a good person. When I was hired, I was not once asked about a schedule that worked best for me. Instead, I was given the shifts I was given and happily worked them. In addition to working the schedule I was given (which was all closing shifts and all day Saturday/​Sunday), I was also passive aggressively shut down when I requested anything more than a day off by the owner himself. Not only that, but I also had to cancel a trip that I had requested off AND paid for because one of the baristas had to suddenly go to rehab for heroin use. That same barista was stealing tips from the girls she was working with and the owner of this stand defended her even though she was coming off of a high at work in front of customers. No one was ever given an apology. When she returned, there were no repercussions for her actions, but she was thrown back in and still defended by the owner.
When it comes down to it, the owner of this stand is a horrible person. He is belittling, controlling, manipulative and VERY selfish. He doesn’t care about the well being or happiness of his employees with the exception of his one favorite (and I’ll let you guys decide for yourselves the reasons behind her holding that title). Anyone that has any self respect would never put up with being treated the way I was treated and because of that I left and have still not received my check for the last week I worked there. This just shows how rude this man is.

My absolute favorite place to get coffee! I pulled up one day out of desperation for coffee and haven’t left! I was once a Starbucks gal but Maplewood Espresso converted me. The staff are out of this world friendly, the lines move quickly, and the prices are reasonable. I have not found a better coffee place! The baristas make an effort to learn your name and some basic facts, and it shows over time. Added benefit of a punch card that earns your 12 cup for free! I wish they had more locations because if I ever move, I’ll go through serious withdrawals!

Friendly, Fast and Fabulous! … The Baristas are friendly and well mannered, we always receive a smile ;) it can get busy but their teamwork on the double sided drive thru windows makes the line a breeze! Now don’t get me started on the drinks… Drinks are fabulous!

Drove through this morning for 2 lattes. Fast, friendly, clean and delicious! Even when there’s multiple cars in line, they move everyone through fast and have both windows open most the time. Definitely will return soon!

Convenient location. Very nice and friendly staff. They have great hours. They’re always open when I need them.

Customer service is always stellar. Hot dogs are delish. Just wish they sold Pepsi or Dr Pepper to go with my hot dog instead of Coke :-)

Love this place! Typically busy in the a.m., but 2 windows and 2 baristas makes the line go quick! Employees are always friendly, and have great suggestions when I want to try something different.

They do punch cards for drips again! It was gone for a short time, but now its back!!!

I love this little coffee stand!
One of my good friends works here so I might be a little biast! I don’t get the chance to stop by often since this is on my way to work so I don’t have time.
I’ve been here a handful of times and though I dont know them all on a name to name basis they know my drink and face!
My favourite part of this café is they randomly serve HOTDOGS! actually, now that I think about it they are across the street from a small park near the Cedar River!
They use Caffé D’Arte for their espresso! They also use semi-​automatic espresso machines so solo or doppio espresso is DELICIOUS!
One tip I’ll leave with you is they use white chocolate powder, which tends to make the white mochas a bit too sweet in comparison to a white mocha sauce. Simply ask them to do a half a scoop less than the standard — or do what I do and get a quad!

Unique and friendly!
This coffee stand provides all you need to hit the 405 traffic!
They have beef hot dogs and polish dogs for $ 3, coffee drinks (drip and espresso) for reasonable prices, fruit smoothie, chips, muffins, etc.
This place is great! The beef and polish dogs are huge and worth the money :). I’ve only ever had a breve latte here and it is so creamy and delicious!
The baristas are always SO friendly and seem to perk up my day even if I’m on my way to work in a bad mood! It is always clean (even though it’s a tiny hut) and the double drive up window is so helpful when rush hour hits!
Drive through this adorable business to grab your Joe on the way to the highway or home! They provide great drinks and service!

Buyer Beware
Drive-​through Barista making me a quad pulled one double at 8 seconds, then tried to tell me her goal is 20 to 25. She offered to remake but then told me, «Well, it had good crema…»
When I said, «But that doesn’t fix the time over the beans…», she said, «I know.»
I’ve also had them use older shots in my drink and I then have noticed those dead shots sitting there, to go into somebody’s drink. This Barista told me they only use that with somebody who orders a white chocolate mocha, since they don’t care about the coffee. But they have put it in mine!
I’m afraid this whole enterprise only care about getting drinks out faster and slipping waste shots in, rather than making every drink competently.

This is a convenient location on my way to work. Their lattes are pretty good, and I appreciate that they have a punch card for 1 free drink after 10. Service is pretty speedy.
I wish they had more breakfast foods available, they currently only have bagels. If you use a debit card its an extra 0.25.
You definitely get more coffee/​food for your money than a Starbucks.

Great place to get coffee before hopping on the freeway! Hot polish dogs are good as well as the strawberry peach smoothies!

I have been coming here for a while now and I love it! It’s on my way to work (which is a plus), the baristas are so friendly and nice and the drinks are great. I used to enjoy going to Starbucks but lately I have only gone to smaller coffee shops/​stands — they are by far better! You get better service, better drinks and more bang for your buck :)
I always get a iced caramel macchiato! Yum! I can’t wait to try something else — keep up the great work ladies!

My husband and I have always loved Starbucks-​then we found this coffee stand. Not only is the double drive thru convenient, all the baristas are amazing and our coffee is MUCH better than we receive at Starbucks! We love this stand!

Tried for the first time. Nice baristas, but the mocha wasn’t great. A bit watered down. Bummer as I’m searching for the best coffee place close by.

I love this place. The baristas are the best! I get bummed out when I have to go a different route for work and I don’t have time to detour and stop by here.
Drinks are always great and made quickly — sometimes my drink is already made before I get to the window because the girls recognize me and my car!
I will definitely be back!

My hubby & I discovered this place recently that is really close to home right off Maple Vly near the golf course. The service has always been super friendly & quick when we go there. The 2^nd time we went there the barista gal gave us a punch card so if you buy 12 drinks then you get 1 free. We have tried the caramel frap blended drinks & it’s very tasty — just the right amount of coffee & syrup. I have tried the light one & that came out good too. They are open 7 days a week & pretty late on the weekdays. We used to drink Starbucks caramel fraps but have found them to be very watery & not enough coffee taste. We highly recommend them!
