I started coming here a few months ago and this place keeps improving! The new owners are a family which is awesome! The girls make great coffee and are always so friendly. I love that prices didn’t change but they continue to add things to the menu. So glad that the transition of owners didn’t bring this business down. I’ll keep coming!

This is no longer Java Joes but has been taken over by new owners. I am so disappointed in the change that I felt the drive to create a Unilocal account just to warn others of coming here. I gave the stand a chance for over a month but I will not be coming here anymore for several reasons. The hours have been inconsistent– closing sometimes an hour or two before their posted schedule and no warning when the stand will be closing(I’m not talking holidays, but just random days of the week.) Secondly, the old owners had a «Hero’s» discount that gave 10% off for veterans, teachers, EMT’s, etc. The new owners have since removed educators from this discount. I was bringing my elderly mother coffee at the retirement home she now lives in and I told the barista her name and told her that she has always gotten the discount for being an educator(for 37 years mind you) and they told me that only police officers are eligible for the discount now. That’s horrible! Teachers aren’t «heroes» anymore? These people clearly have no idea what makes for a wholesome community if they spit on educators like that. Finally, the only reason I was still coming here were for the two baristas remaining from the old staff and I learned recently that they were both fired and we’ve been left with the daughters of the owner. They have horrible customer service, very bad attitudes, and the drink quality has plummeted with no apparent change in beans or product– probably because they know they aren’t at risk of getting fired. I had to explain what an americano was! Absolutely nobody that can’t make a decent americano should be working a morning shift. I hope they realize how much business they are losing due to these things.

This place has completely gone down hill since the previous owners sold it. We have gone to this stand for 5 years, thru 3 owners, and even used to go twice a day(for happy hour) After the rude, incompetent service today we will not be returning. The new owners have fired most of the old staff and replaced them with one very sweet girl who is a decent barista, and one who always has a sc9wl, is HORRIBLY rude, can’t operate the register, and can’t make an Americano.(Ikr, easiest drink on the planet) Today she rang my drinks up completely wrong(tried to charge me for a mocha because I wanted 1 less shot in my Americano???) Then proceeded to get the nastiest, most unprofessional attitude I’ve seen in a barista, made 3 failed attempts to ring it properly, and still overcharged me by almost $ 2.00. Once she started being rude I asked for the owner’s number to file a complaint and she flat out refused.(Owner happens to be her mother…), I got irritated and told her she should try smiling, and that this stand has changed for nothing but the worst since they took over. Very sad because the girls they fired and replaced were awesome

Great coffee and friendly, quick service. Americano includes an extra shot which is a big bonus.

I used to come here when it was the sugar shack. Now there are new owners and nicer coffee and treats. The new punch card is nice its modern and now it just gets swiped and your on your way, no more fiddling with the punch card and I had three since the previous owner was cheap and each size drink had a different punch card. I was tickled pink when they accepted my old Sugar Shack cards as credit to my new card. I really like the girls who work here they make great coffees. Most of them remember my regular. I know I will be coming back here a lot more
