This was great. The lady at the counter was nice to me and everyone. Food was fresh. I had thighs and breasts in original. The breading was thick, but I like that. The chicken was very moist. Fried okra was still crunchy even though it took me what seemed like forever to get back to the hotel before I could eat. I was worried that I would need salt or pepper for the mac and cheese or mashed potatoes and gravy. They didn’t need anything. Mac and cheese was delicious. The potatoes were too. I didn’t even mind that it was brown gravy. I would definitely recommend this for something different, better and more homestyle cooking than other chicken joints.

I have Friends that own Ezells chicken. But decided to give heaven sent a try this place was extremely good just like the original Ezells 27years ago taste on point. i order small spicy with fries and a drink and then added their new menu item Mac n cheese super good with spices to it I would definitely go I here not going to lie I was expecting the chicken to be dry but the young Black male was nice gave me fresh chicken and lady with red hair had good customer service. But i would say stay with the trend and redecorate with a modern feel. Felt like it was in the 1990 in there but maybe that’s the theme old school with old school music but overall good experience.

This place is very unorganized. The staff all of three people seem to be incompetent. I ordered corn as a side an they explained to me that they were out of corn. Since I couldn’t get corn they gave collard greens that were the worse tasting greens ever, too much vinegar which I ended up wasting and threw them away. First of all this a suppose to be a restaurant type of establishment; you NEVER run out of food. The young man working the front brought out a tray of rolls over head to the front very improper way of handling food. I did not get my order in which I placed it. This will be my first and last time and this place! Even Ezell’s is the same way no disposable gloves on or hair nets and you wonder why Black owned businesses don’t thrive in the PNW!

I went to this place based on the recommendation of a friend. On the plus side, they had the best fried chicken, baked beans and fresh baked buns I have probably ever had. Anything with potatoes or cole slaw are not recommended. You have to eat eveythiig fresh out of the kitchen to get the best flavor. I came back later and took the same meal home for dinner. Even heating it up a few minutes made it somewhat so-so. The employees did not seem to be happy to be working there. There was a lady at the counter and two cooks. She perked up somewhat when I told her the food was very good, but otherwise she did not seem to be a happy camper. The religious slogans on the t-shirts put me off. If I was a Hindu or Islam or other, I might be put off. This is, after all, a fast food place, not a church. The place was rather«divey», so you had to focus on how good the food was, and not look around too much. This fast food place has three branches. With the recipes they have, they could easily be a big chain. I am not understanding their marketing strategy. Sorry if this review puts anyone off.

My 300th review and got to try a pretty good place for it. Heaven Sent has some of the best fried chicken around. I had the three piece spicy with slaw and beans, and I made a great choice. The chicken was hot and moist with a great batter, just right on spicy. The beans and slaw were also pretty good. My friend order the chicken strips which he thought were alright until he had a piece of my chicken. Stick with the fried chicken and the good service. Looking forward to trying it again.

Some people may not like this review but I’m going to be brutally honest. Nice place in the middle of Renton it’s clean the service is good and the people that work there seem super nice. I had the chicken breast and wing and a few sides. I was sharing with someone else and though let’s try a bunch of sides for this one as so many sounded good. So I tried the mashed potatoes and gravy. The mac n cheese, collard greens and the peach cobbler. The mashed potatoes and gravy was kind of dry but it tasted like real potatoes instead of instant which I thought was ok but they were dry. The Mac n cheese was very good! The best of the sides by a land slide. The collard greens for collard greens were ok not as vinegary as some places which is good and they had a bit of a kick but they were a little too shredded up for me. That’s just my thing but we’re taking about a fried chicken establishment so let’s get to the chicken. The chicken is really interesting. A little more breading than I like on my skin as I prefer it crispy and thin but an interesting and different way of serving it. The chicken inside is quite moist and delicious and I think some of that fried breading kind of locks In the flavor. The peach cobbler was good a little heavy handed on the cinnamon but over all good. So I give this place 4stars for the total package if you are looking for good chicken that is very thick crispy skin, and some solid appetizers I would invest in the Mac Cheese without question and go for the breast piece as it was nice and juicy.

The chicken is great — I think that’s pretty much a given. What keeps bringing me back is the incredibly friendly staff. I leave with a smile on my face every time. Maybe I’m just a sicker for strangers calling me «sugar» or «honey»…haha. I live up the hill next to the«other» chicken place, but never go there because their treatment of customers is exactly the opposite. Just horrible. Heaven Sent is the best!

You cannot go wrong with this place. Best fried chicken around. Every time I have been here. I place my order, and a short wait, my order is complete. Even when it’s busy the staff is on point. Never had an issue with the service. Great job!

food: 3 piece meal with mash potatoes and a side of gizzards. before you say ewww to what gizzards actually are, just try it. then you might have to fight me for the last piece. the reason i prefer this over the other big chains: less grease. yes i know theyre all fried in buckets of oil. however, this place drains it better somehow without it being dry. it’s so much crispier too. you can hear every crunch going on in your mouth and crunchy things are delicious. that’s just science. ***4/5 service: staff was friendly. i was the only table before the dinner rush started coming in. the restaurant was well kept. ***4/5 value: its definitely more expensive than the big chains. but i prefer this over them any time. the pieces are bigger too. sometimes you get a leg in the other chains and it’s so small. yet, you dont want some extra large abnormal piece either. heaven sent has the right size portions. ***4/5

Pretty legit fried chicken — they know what they are doing. Great flavor and crisp on the skin while maintaining a great juicy texture/chicken inside. There really isn’t a better way to describe fried chicken — just one of things that you’ll have to taste for yourself. It’s a bit pricier than your traditional chains(popeyes, kfc) but you can taste the difference in quality. Rolls are legit with some butter and honey — and the mac and cheese is on par but nothing to really rave about. I’ll have to come back and try the desserts and other sides to see what’s really up!

I love their chicken, but I’m not going back after today. I asked for honey for my roll, and the(not so friendly) lady told me honey is 15 cents. No big deal, but I put the honey on my roll, and it was spoiled. Asked for a new roll because my was ruined with bad honey. The not-so-friendly lady behind the counter looked at me like I was crazy. She declined my request, I said no big deal… but I started thinking about how lame that was. Crappy Naleys honey packs were spoiled, and I love their rolls. I left $ 4 on a $ 17 bill, I felt like asking for the tip back(paid before i got my food) Sucks, but I’m not going back…

I’ve only had the liver and gizzards here. The gizzards are always on point and freakin delicious. But the last time I ordered the liver, it was undercooked and tasted like it was going bad. I was disappointed but it’s not going to stop me from coming back. I’ll just stick to the gizzards from now on.

My friends and I went here because the owner used to have a successful restaurant that Oprah went to. Okay, she likes the chicken. We went there and ordered a two piece meal. The chicken was okay, I can’t say it was the best I’ve ever had, but the bread was very good. The mashed potatoes weren’t really mashed, it had chunks. The gravy was not very flavorful. The chicken wasn’t very flavorful. There was a lot of flavor missing. I’m giving this place 5 stars because the way the lady cashier gave us a good laugh. She yelled at those cooks like chef Ramsey, and tried to hit on one of my friends. That alone was priceless. I’d go here again to try out the spicy chicken. The price seems a bit too high.

The cashier was a lot of fun but this chicken was just not so good… I’m not sure why Oprah likes it honestly. It was flavorless, Id say its worse than popeyes, kfc, and safeway fried chicken. Not crispy at all and the skin is just all weird. The chicken was super dry as well. I cant honestly recommend this place at all.

First things first, the food speaks for itself that’s the only reason why I gave this review a extra star.(Or else it would just get 2 stars) I don’t know if I have horrible luck with this place but every time I come here my order is never correct! I started ordering on the phone because the wait is outstanding sometimes. Even when you get there to pick up your food you nearly have to wait another 20 mins just to get it. I also have my order repeated back to me only to not get everything in it? You must MUST check your order before you leave because something is always missing with mine. Let’s just say the service sucks. Front counter is the weak spot. I wish they hired people with decent customer service and acknowledged the area they need to work on. PLEASE read your reviews and fix the service!

Came in with my brother on a very busy Saturday evening. They only have 4 tables and a bench for people waiting so space is really limited here, but food came out steadily and a lot of people took it to go, so seating really wasn’t an issue. The staff was friendly to every single person who came in, despite being in the middle of a pretty big rush. The chicken. My brother had only good things to say about his spicy chicken(not sure which pieces exactly he got). I had the spicy strips which were fantastic. They were freshly cooked so they were piping hot, but they were also that perfect spicy hot that you always want when you order something spicy, but rarely actually get. I also got potato salad. I downright love potato salad in general, and I absolutely loved theirs. I asked one of the guys working if they made it in-house and he said they did. Kudos to whoever made that recipe. Parking– there is a decent sized lot but there is also street parking. Refills from the soda fountain are $ 0.35. Not a big deal to me, but I know some people really don’t like being charged for that. My brother made the comment that it’s good we don’t live too close or he would be big and broke. I agree.

Oh… they hype I would see for this place. OPRAHLOVESTHECHICKEN! I was like, «It can’t be that good…» I went in after my appointment with Jane over at Brag Hair Salon(review to follow soon) and was *starving* after. I passed this place on the way back to my car. «Why not?» I asked myself. So in I went. FYI — mashed potatoes are vegetarian, but not the gravy. Hubby liked the mashed taters! He also liked the corn. SCORE! I ordered the 3 piece chicken strip combo. BESTILLMYFOOLISHHEART. Is that Diet Pepsi they serve? *had a small fit of the vapors* Reason enough to keep coming back. Anyway, 3 piece chicken strip combo — SOVERYGOOD. They were not small pieces of chicken. There was a very generous portion of fries that my funky chunky butt really did not need, but I had it anyway. I just didn’t finish it all. Did I mention that they have a private parking lot? None of this parking on the street BS. I will definitely be going back. One last thing: The workers and manager were so friendly and patient with me while I was figuring out what to get. You don’t find that in this day and age.

Oh hot damn, this chicken is amazing!!! We stopped in to pick up a take out order on a Sunday night. We ordered the 8 piece family meal, with two sides. The spicy chicken was delicious and actually had real heat to it, which you don’t often find. As for the sides, the mashed potatoes and baked beans were nothing special. The employee told us the chicken was coming right up when we ordered, but then multiple customers that came in after us were out the door before we left. Anyways, forget the bad… we will be back for sure!

Very similar to Ezell’s, but if I had to pick, I would choose Heaven Sent. This location is in «downtown» Renton, and there is plenty of parking available(we parked on the street, but they also have a parking lot). The restaurant itself isn’t big, but the person taking our order was friendly and got our to0go order done quickly. We ended up getting some collard greens(good), as well as the 8 piece chicken with 4 rolls. The rolls are incredible: nice and soft. Since my wife doesn’t like spicy food, we got the chicken half regular half spicy. If you can tolerate any amount of spice, go ahead and get the spicy version: it is not really that spicy, but it is very flavorful. The chicken has crispy skin, and it is very juicy inside. We actually drove past the Ezell’s in the Renton Highlands to try out Heaven Sent. We will make the extra trip here again when we need to fill our fried chicken needs in the future.
