Nice trail beside the creek. You can hear the airplanes so it’s not as peaceful as it can be.

So convenient to my place! You can either use this spot to either use this place as a park to BBQ or hang out with family or what I do go tubing at the river underneath. The start point is where the Renton Community Center is at behind the Carco Theater. You might want to take 2 cars and have 1 parked at the starting and 1 at the end because it’s quite a walk, unless you are just tubing for a certain short distance. Water is going to be pretty shallow which could be a good or bad thing because if you don’t invest in a quality tube/floatie, you aren’t going to stay up, but if you are worry about not knowing how to swim, it’s good to know that you could stand and the water is not going to go above your knees. With that being said, I am 5“2, don’t take little kids there that don’t know how to swim! Also, make sure to wear flip flops or some sort of water shoes because it does hurt to stand on giant rocks! Beautiful place on a sunny day that is easily accessed to, great alternative if you want to avoid the Coulon Beach Park crowd! There’s also a place within walking distance that you could rent kayaks from.

Really cool park/trail that makes Renton even better. You can canoe or kayak, cool off by wading in, walk your dog(on a leash– poo bags provided) to the dog park, walk with your old parents, play in the river mud, float the river, watch the salmon spawn in the fall, makeout on a bench under the blooming cherry trees in the spring, and ride your bike. You can see I have fond memories here. The trail goes really far from where it dumps into lake Washington all the way up to maple valley.

One of my favorite places for a quick walk. The loop from the stadium parking lot to the water and back takes maybe 30 – 40 minutes and there are plenty of picnic spots and benches along the way. Very well landscaped and always a beautiful view no matter the weather.

The trail follows the Cedar river though parts of downtown Renton linking up to other parks and the Renton Stadium. I frequent the Lake Washington entrance more than any other since I like being able to walk out on the pier where you can rent kayaks, gaze out across the lake and watch airplanes take off and land. The planes are mostly general aviation with the occasional 737(average 1.5 a day) taking off. There are tables and BBQ stalls scattered about, and a small play area for kids. Unfortunately this area is frequented during the day by Boeing smokers, who are not allowed to smoke on Boeing property. Overall I enjoy coming to the park.

Love the trail, park, river, and trees. Enjoy the library and Liberty Park, Skate Park, and Carco Theatre. Much of Renton life revolves around the Cedar River. I like watching the salmon spawn in the Fall.

Regardless of the bike riders that don’t abide by the dismount signs, or the teenage pot heads that smoke at the benches along the trail, or the bums that sleep under the bridges… I still give it 4 stars. It’s a good jogging/walking trail. It’s awesome to walk this trail when the salmon are spawing, which is around this time of year.

This is a great little trail! This paved trail runs next to the Cedar River which flows through downtown Renton. The trail runs underneath roads and connects to other play areas and sites along the way. Lots of room for people walking their dog or going for a jog. The river gets very shallow and and is not too swift running so you get get up and personal. Nice feature to walk off your meals in Renton!
