We stopped here to get a bite to eat on a long drive from Indy to Chicago. This was a good halfway point. We didn’t want typical fast food. This was a nice change of pace. Steak burrito was good. Lots of meat and vegetables. Huge helping of rice on the side. Very tasty. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Worth the stop!

The oddity of this place is not to be underestimated. Other reviews mention the empty parking lot. But you also have to walk through the small, Mexican convenience store to a dinning area that is nothing more than tables. You would think you’d stumbled into a break room if you hadn’t read the Unilocal reviews already. The staff was friendly and the place seemed pretty hygienic, so not a lot of worry there. But it’s easily the oddest dinning experience I’ve ever had. The food was, as promised, exceptionally good. Very flavorful and surprisingly fresh tasting. There is no menu, but«Specials» are handwritten on little cards taped to the wall. If you’re in for an adventure, this place might be worth checking out.

DONOTPASS! This place was great but it may look sketchy or closed if you just drive by. Sopes and fajitas were great. Local, authentic and very reasonable. Glad I checked Unilocal or I would’ve never found this hidden gem.

My bias: for 8 yrs I worked at a place where we were fed homestyle Mexican cooking at least once a week. La Fiesta tacos are the real deal. Tongue tacos are fantastic, steak excellent. Wonderful, fresh sauces. I’ll gladly take a bare-bones décor for food like this. If you’re game the taquero might grill you a pepper or two, watch out for the habañeros!

My colleague and I were driving home to Milwaukee from a photo gig in Indiana, and were looking for a place to eat. Not familiar with the area, I turned to my trusty Unilocal app and found La Fiesta Market: it had tacos AND high reviews! Score! Upon pulling into the parking lot, I thought maybe we were in the wrong place because it just looked like a store. But upon entering we saw the small dining area inside the store to the left. Upon passing aisles of delightful Mexican treats(read: plantain chips!!!) we sat down at a booth in the no frills dining area. A woman came out and asked us what we wanted. Confused, since we had not been given any menus, she pointed to some hand-drawn-on-construction-paper menu items on the wall. I saw the usual fare: tacos, quesadillas, etc. I ordered chips n salsa and chicken tacos. The chips and salsa arrived and I knew we were in good hands. The salsa seemed fresh and home made and the chips were light and crispy. My tacos came out and I was equally happy: shredded chicken on corn tortillas with fresh diced white onions, cilantro, and fresh lime wedges. It was excellent. I would never have known about this place if it had not been for Unilocal. As an added bonus I bought a bag of plantain chips for the rest of our drive home, and an awesome«Hecho en Mexico»(made in Mexico) belt buckle as a road trip gift for my boyfriend. You know what that’s called? Winning.

Odd location but great food. I got a chicken quesadilla with a grilled jalapeño on the side. My meal even came with chips and salsa. The store is interesting too lots of dried peppers, Mexican candy, and I bought some Brown sugar cones.

Don’t let the outside fool you. Really great authentic Mexican food for a very reasonable price.

This is a sit down eating area attached to a Mexican grocery store, located just off I-65. Many commentators have said parking lot was empty; that was true for us. Pros: Very authentic food, especially given the location. Steak tacos delicious – just like Mexico. No frills and very reasonable price. Cons: Bathroom not clean. Service very basic. Pay at grocery check out.

I can’t imagine there are many options that have better food around here. We were surprised to see that KFC Buffet(yes they still exist) parking lot packed, but we’re wary of an empty Mexican restaurant. With my iron stomach we figured to give it a try and we’re glad we did. The food was cheap, tasty, and fresh. A what was more interesting was the market attached to the dining area. It was like being in Mexico. You won’t be disappointed with this place.

We stopped here on a trip to Chicago. Little hidden gem. This is not your traditional style Mexican restaurant most people are used to. There menu items are posted on the wall. I had three tacos, chicken, steak, and pork. My co-worker had the chicken burrito. We were both impressed and very full. If you have a chance stop by and enjoy the food.
