A very comfortable place for breakfast. Loved the eggs, pancakes, and bacon. These owners pay a lot of attention to quality. We will be back for more!

I always find out new restaurants from Unilocal, and this was on my radar. I had no idea where it was until a friend was raving about how much he likes the food here. I found out it was next to Anna’s on McCarran and 4th Street, right down the street from my employer. I showed up yesterday at 3PM, but they were closed. They do breakfast(until 2pm) and dinner now according to the door. I got lunch today at 12PM so I knew they would be open and arrived. There was only 1 couple dining when I arrived, so not busy. It’s not a very big place and very bare bones looking. The server sat me next to the couple, and I guess they were friendly as she spent much time chatting with them, but I don’t understand Spanish. I asked about best dishes, as usual, per new places, she said breakfast or lunch, I honed in on breakfast, I was hoping a breakfast favorite was also popular here, but none of my favorites were mentioned, so I jumped to lunch. She mentioned more that didn’t sound great except the jalapeño burger, but that didn’t sound good today, but then she said steak sandwich($ 10.99), DINGDING we have a WINNER! I then asked for recommended sides, she mentioned it came with fries, which I wasn’t excited about but then found out they were sliced fresh, so I got more excited. While I was waiting another diner arrived. I waited for a reasonable amount of time and my food came out right after the other diner, but she had french toast, eggs, and bacon(one of the favorites here mentioned on the breakfast side). My food looked great on the plate, she even asked how I wanted my steak cook, it looked a perfect medium rare. Sometimes food looks better than the actual flavor and this was the case. The fries were okay, above average, loved the skins on them, but the seasoning was missing and that satisfaction you get from a well-done fry! The fries are not the kind you crave or think about again. The steak sandwich was okay, again missing seasoning big time. The first part of the sandwich was better than the second, but it’s very messy, lots of juice and oil dripping and they provide cloth napkins. After she checked on me, which was a much longer time than usual, due to the dining and social visit that was happening, I asked for paper napkins, which were provided. I quickly blew through those as they were paper thin, and I needed more. I finally got another visit towards the end and then received more than I needed. I rarely use salt shakers, and I was really dousing my food with salt today, both the sandwich and fries. The steak made quite a mess too as the first section, I could eat like a few bites like a burger, or a steak sandwich. Shortly after a couple bites it got really tough, and chewy, fatty and tendon parts. I was tearing the sandwich apart trying to eat it, then just had to eat everything separate, and leave the inedible and fatty parts on the plate. Even the cheese and sauteed onions and mushrooms didn’t have much flavor, everything was just even okay and slightly better with my salt shaker, but not anything I would order again, and YES I am talking about a steak! I needed to get a quick exit, as I had an appointment for work, so I had my wallet out, my card ready, but again the waitress was still being friendly with the first couple, so I had to walk up to her to check out. The place is WAYTOO casual for me, and I didn’t enjoy the bare-bones surroundings and small place. If the food is fantastic across the board it can override factors, but the service was not on point either. This place is just not my style. I might go back with my friend who enjoys the food, but I wouldn’t go back on my own to dine, as I have much better options, that I get a sense of satisfaction after, and not just feeling awkward about my dining experience.

We went to this place for the first time today. I have to admit I was a little nervous because the place was empty when we walked in. However, the servers were nice, the place was clean, and the breakfast was good. We had the standard Egg’s Benedict and pancakes. Everything was cooked well and tasted good. They gave me a rose for Mother’s Day and my daughter a balloon which made her day.

I(Mia) think that the food was fantastic, I really like how they fresh squeezed the orange juice. Also I like how hot the food was…

Looks can be deceiving. Very small place but WOW! Extremely friendly staff is the first thing that stood out. Fresh squeezed sweet orange juice was an especially nice touch. Watermelon slices adorn the plates for breakfast. The plates were warmed and the portions were generous. The big cup of coffee was a nice change from the small cups served in other places. Delicious! Our«go to» breakfast place when we’re close by.

A little diamond in the rough. The owners are wonderfully sweet and committed to their food. The menu tells an interesting story. You’ll never find Mexican food on their menu because of the lease they signed. You’ll nearly always find Mexican food on the specials board. Order the Mexican special. Seriously just order it. The Huevos Rancheros are sublime, the Chile Verde is delicious. The beans are simmered overnight and later supplemented with chorizo and bacon. Yum. The other food on the menu is also delicious. The eggs are top shelf, and they serve some great hashbrowns Give ‘em a try.

As usual I read about this place on Unilocal.Very small family owned business, which I love to patronize. Husband ordered the Joe special and I had the steak sandwich(cooked perfectly) nice size portions, but absolutely NO seasonings We both had to use a lot of salt and pepper. we sat in a two person booth right by the open kitchen. the counter by my head had very dusty ceramics and dying plants. I asked if the potato salad was house made and she said yes(, you can tell when it house made) AND it was BUT it was just potato, mustard and mayo! that’s it! no salt, pepper, pickle, onion, egg, nothing! so I ate it with the my pickle spear on my plate and salt and pepper. Sad by the 5 stars this place received I must be to hard to please.

Yum! I love this place. We have only been in for breakfast. The service is very consistent. They serve delicious coffee and offer a plethora of creams. They have a traditional breakfast menu and it’s all consistently good. They usually have delicious specials usually with a Mexican flair. One time they even special roasted jalapeños for our breakfast. Note: the ambiance does not reflect the great food.

What can I say. The food is spot on. The couple that run the place are super friendly and you feel like you’re dining in their home. The menu is American food, but they tell me they always have a Mexican food special… And my advice is to ALWAYSHAVETHAT! They are now open for dinner: Thurs, Fri & Sat 5 – 9. EATHERE!

Generous portions for reasonable prices! We weren’t sure what to expect when we walked in. Looked like a small, family owned business, but we were happy we chose this place over an overpriced, mediocre casino buffet for breakfast! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Blueberry French Toast and the Steak benedict. Both were very tasty and didn’t leave us that greasy spoon diner feeling. Only thing is that the steak was ordered medium rare and arrived medium well and had some fat that we had to cut off. Also, the coffee wasn’t amazing, but not bad. Otherwise, if you want a tasty, well priced, large portion breakfast(average $ 10/person, but much better quality than Ihop or Denny’s) without the weekend wait, we would highly recommend this place!

What can I say? They haven’t under cooked my eggs and the hash browns are very good. This place is a great little breakfast secret. I have not been disappointed with a meal yet. Definitely give this place a try, the coffee is strong and the wait staff is very friendly.

What defines a good restaurant in Reno is in flux right now. Are we a small town? Are we a town with creative chefs and a large foodie contingent dying to try what is new? To be honest… the last few months have made this nearly impossible to answer. Great foodie businesses have floundered. And we have had some traditional café’s start up and grab a local following. And it seems Yordana’s is one of the latter. The small and simple menu is not ambitious nor is it seeking to be a unique star on the new restaurant line up in Reno. The service here is the epitome of hometown café. Friendly people making good breakfast and lunch staples. My corned beef hash was very similar to what my mom used to make when I was younger. The fluffy hashed browns on the side were some of the best I have had in Reno. The eggs of course were properly cooked and fairly priced. As you would expect from any hometown café anywhere in rural Nevada. I’m sure I’ll make my way back for the prices and the friendly staff and if I lived nearby it would be a regular haunt to take my family. And if I had friends in town for an extended stay… this would be a great change of pace to the must do places that would inevitably top the list.

I love little family owned and operated diners. The place itself is small and cozy. When I went in there were just a couple people aside from myself. All the tables have cloth tablecloths and napkins so it almost feels a little but upscale for reasonable prices! Everything I saw was around 10 bucks or less. I was actually up and ready for breakfast(I work nights) so bacon and eggs was a nice treat for myself. They have applewood bacon here which is nice. I hate breakfast that is served with scraggly cheap bacon. I also got fresh squeezed orange juice with my meal. Everything was delicious and prepared well. The hash browns we’re golden brown and crispy my eggs were cooked perfectly as well. The staff is friendly and Yordana was very prompt on her service, I will definitely be coming back for some corn beef hash and eggs!

I have been a few times now. Very nice folks serving and seating. Great service. The food is just down right GOOD. It tastes like food, real food. It is so well prepared with all the flavour one could want, Big coffee cups that keeps the coffee hot. Decent sized portions that fills one to the brim. Every thing I have had is just as I said, GOOD. The restaurant it self kind of reminds me of a dining car on a train is one walks from the front to the back. A very narrow isle between the tables on each side. So check this place out if you are in the area of 4th st and Mc Carran Blvd.
