Just had the Raspberry Cabernet ice cream at the Reno food truck event. Best ever! They had several good choices of ice cream, sorbet and wine floats.

Shocked I haven’t reviewed this place yet! I’ve now visited Winey Munkies twice and tried a handful of their flavors. That’s the entire point of going with friends so you can try more flavors than you could if you went on your own! So far I’ve had the chocolate cabernet, peach chardonnay, and raspberry cabernet. I cannot say that I can pick a favorite because they have all been delicious and I’m not really a wine drinker! These flavors are all sugar, spice, and everything nice! The service is just as sweet but remember to keep that ID handy because they do card if you are looking particularly underaged. The scoops are a very good size for $ 5 and are bursting with flavor. One scoop will more than satisfy your sweet tooth and leave you more than happy! It’s so nice having such a unique food truck call Reno home!

Overheard several times at the Northern Nevada Pride«why didn’t we think of this?!» I was delighted to see Winey Munkies there and very happy to support such a great local business. I’ve had them four times now and four different flavors. Each one was unique and delicious. My fave so far is their Raspberry Cabernet. And it was awesome of them to feature a Rainbow float at the event so of course I had to try that as well. Service is always friendly and they are on point with checking IDs — really flattering by the way to still be carded haha! I’ve heard of people complain about the price but we aren’t talking about a simple scoop of ice cream here. We’re talking about alcohol people! Just think of it like you’re paying for a glass of house wine and those are easily $ 5 or so on it’s own. Keep up the good job guys! One of the few real five star Reno businesses on my list. See you again soon :)

I had a raspberry cabernet sorbet with cabernet wine float and it was delicious and refreshing. They were out of the chocolate merlot unfortunately, but its just something to look forward to next time. The float was the perfect summer treat, amazing :)

We ordered ice cream for a party. Owners are extremely helpful and easy to coordinate with. They recommended the Raspberry Cabernet, which I didn’t order… I instead got the Peach Chardonnay and they Chocolate Merlot. They did bring a small sample of the Raspberry Cabernet which was divine and I was really regretting not ordering that. The Chocolate Merlot was a HUGE hit with the guests. The Peach Chardonnay wasn’t as big of a hit but was refreshing, reviews on that one were it was too strong in wine flavor. Overall, it was a great experience. The ice-cream is very expensive. I had a lot of people ask about it and only told a few what I paid for 4 tubs because I was a little embarrassed I spent so much on ice cream :) It was for a 40th bday and I wanted something special and unique which this was!!! Each tub was a ½ gallon. I paid about 31.50 per tub… I will definitely be revisiting this place again!!! Just not buying a large amount. Great customer service, great product.

I finally had a chance to give them a try. By the time I got over to the Sands Farmer’s Market, they were out of the Chocolate Merlot. Bummer! So I went with my second choice — Peach Chardonnay. It is a little pricy. $ 5 for the wine ice-cream and $ 3 for the regular(non-alcoholic) ice-cream, but the portions are generous and it is good quality ice-cream. It is served in a cup, not a cone. My Peach-Chardonnay was smooth and creamy with a hint of acidity from the wine with a mild peach flavor. I like my peach ice-cream a little«peachier» but that may have overwhelmed the wine flavor. There were a few small chunks of peach in the ice-cream. I lam hoping to get to try the Chocolate Merlot next time. This is such a unique taste treat. very cool treat for a hot summer evening.

I met Winey Munkies at a charity event early last month and just loved their idea of wine ice cream. Who doesn’t like ice cream? and who doesn’t love wine? Putting the two together is just dynamite. I haven’t run into them in the ‘wild’ yet but look forward to trying them again. It really is remarkable how the wine and ice cream flavor blend but each stand out. You can taste the peach AND the chardonnay, the strawberry doesn’t overshadow the pinot and the merlot plays well with chocolate. Add this to your summer food truck agenda and you won’t be disappointed.

I’m not going to lie… this wine ice cream might have just changed my life. The wine/fruit or wine/chocolate flavor combos are so yummy– you can taste both without it being too sweet. The peach Chardonnay just tastes like summer– I am obsessed. The girls who own the business are so sweet and the service was super fast. It’s so awesome that this stuff isn’t just wine flavored… its actually has like 5% alcohol and you can tell it is made with good quality wine. Such a good addition to our area!

This is such a COOL concept for a Reno food truck. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. I could definitely live off wine and ice cream. They are a girls two favorite things. The raspberry cab is soooo delicious. It was tasty nodes of fruit and it is packed full of wine flavor. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves wine.

June 27, 2015 Saturday at 2:15PM for a treat 2 adults Atmosphere — N/A stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Grand Opening of IMBĪB Custom Brews and they were setup in the parking lot. Atmosphere — A simple food«truck», a trailer really. Food — We all scream for ice cream. Booze and ice cream, awesome, my wife and I split the Chocolate Merlot. I was surprised how much of the wine you could taste in the ice cream. They did an excellent job with creating the ice cream and keeping it solid as alcohol has a lower freezing point than milk. But a typical freeze will work for this. Service — Simple and fast, all they have to do is scoop. Future — of course, I want to try the sorbet now.

I was so happy to see Winey Munkies at the last Reno Street Food, I wasn’t leaving without trying it! They have two basic options — a wine ice cream or a wine float(ice cream floating in a glass of wine). They also have a couple of non-alcoholic options. I chose the peach chardonnay ice cream. I was nice and light and refreshing and I was pleasantly surprised that were chunks of peach in the ice cream. A nice way to end a meal and to enjoy on a hot day/evening. All ice creams are $ 5 — I think this is an acceptable price, considering that it’s not just ice cream and you can actually taste the alcohol. They don’t skimp on filling up that little cup either! I’ll be giving the wine floats a try next time!

Unique incredible and finally got to try it. I was in the right spot for once, the Reno Street Food event at Idlewild and Winey Munkies was there. No joke there is wine in this ice cream, not a little, you can truly taste it. And because of that they ID and you must be 21. Four flavors were offered last night– we tried chocolate merlot which was a nice rich combo and peach chardonnay which was really bright and refreshing on a hot day. I say other try a wine float– they look great, a scoop of ice cream with wine poured over. Totally an adult dessert. Prices didn’t seem too far off track for dessert $ 5 – 6.

I’ve been following Winey Munkies on Facebook since I first heard about their amazing food truck concept. I’ve been anxiously waiting to try their wine/ice cream creations and I, finally, had the chance to do so at the Kite Festival this past weekend. To start off, the two beautiful ladies who run this food truck are so kind and sweet. They made our first visit to their food truck SO amazing that we had to go back for another round of wine-ice cream before we left. My husband and I tried both the Chocolate Merlot and the Raspberry Cabernet. The Raspberry Cabernet was great, but I only got the taste of sweet wine and not so much the raspberry; however, it was still delicious. The Chocolate Merlot was to die for! It took ice cream to a new extraordinary level. I don’t know if I will ever look at ice cream the same again. My last meal on Earth would definitely need to consist of Winey Munkies’ Chocolate Merlot ice cream. It is heavenly! I highly recommend you stop by their food truck the next time they are out and about. I know I will be back for more.
