UYE Estebans Happy Hour At Pignic Pub

I plan a lot of events for work so I know it’s never as easy as it looks. In fact, most times, the easier it appears to have been to put together the more work and care it took to get things to run so smoothly. When people tell me that my job looks like it would be «so fun» then I know I’ve been successful.
This was my first UYE Happy Hour and it looked like our planner, Esteban was having a great time. I was glad to get a chance to experience The Pignic Pub. The Clark Cocktail that I ordered was perfect. The whiskey in it warmed me up just enough on this beautiful but slightly crisp spring evening. The fire pits helped too. They also created a comfortable outdoor patio atmosphere. Almost like home without the work or cleanup. I really enjoyed the conversations with the people at the event, both new friends and old.
Thank you Esteban for making your planning «job» look fun. I can’t wait for the next one.

A bit late on my review of… my UYE. I find it weird to «self-​review» but after giving it some thought, that’s not the case at all.
See, this happy hour UYE is all about the people who attend it, not who organized it. The setting also matters, but on a secondary level, and Pignic is one of those unique spots that’s putting Reno on the map.
Thank you everyone who came to this event. It sure was a memorable one, not to say the most fun and longest happy hour we’ve had so far.
Not sure if there will be another one before my departure, but I’ve heard rumors that it shall go on without me, and that’s the legacy I want and am proud to leave here: «The Ban and the UYE Happy Hour!»

UYE? What is a UYE? Well guess what. I will tell you what a UYE is.

Oh well. Whoop de doo? Who cares? It’s unofficial! Why would I go to one of these?
Well because, with a UYE. It’s all about the people. It’s about getting to know the community of Unilocalers! It’s about hanging out with people who like similar things. What’s more to love?
Well here is the cool thing about UYE’s. YOU can set one up too! Let’s say you love love love underwater basket weaving or playdough performance sculpting. You can make your own UYE and post it for people to come out and experience it themselves.
So why did «The Ban» do his Happy Hours? Because he COULD! So can you. Esteban is a great host so you can learn from his example. It’s not all complicated and hard, «post it, and they will come.»
The Ban has found some great happy hours to enjoy over the last few months. Here’s hoping we can enjoy more happy hours together in the future… no matter where they may be.

My first UYE Happy Hour and I’m sure it won’t be my last. It was a great atmosphere for chatting with old friends and making new ones. The Pignic Punch shouldn’t be missed. The firepit outside was perfect to keep everyone warm on a cool windy evening. Esteban is a great host, making everyone feel welcome! Can’t wait for the next one!

If only Estaban could control the weather… I enjoy his happy hours. Lots of Unilocal friends and drinks. I’m very familiar with Pignic and it was a great location for the UYE. Even with a «little» wind it was nice to sit outside around the fire pit and chat. Even more fun when the group stays together and moves on to grab a bite of dinner.

What a nice evening!!! Great place, great bartender, great drinks, and many great friends. Perfect idea to have a UYE here!!! The fire pit to sit around when your chillin is HOT!!!
