The Palladio provides fabulous vertical living in Reno, right on the river. Though The Montage edges out Palladio as the class of Reno, this is still an amazing place to live. Here is a pro/con list. I found myself not liking Palladio simply because Montage spoiled me. But if you don’t need all the Montage amenities or like the Palladio location better, it’s still an excellent choice. Pros: 1. Small building, something like 96 residences. 2. On the river 3. New building, constructed as a condo. Not a renovation. 4. At nearly 100% occupancy, still very quiet and not crowded. 5. Jacuzzi tubs in units. 6. Right on the river Cons: 1. Pool/jacuzzi closed in winter. WTF? 2. Missing Montage-esque amenities: no on-site storage, business center, gym, pool lounge, 2nd jacuzzi, 24×7 doorman, high ceilings and wide halls 3. Some units, though new, seem to contain poor decorative choices such as yellow lino kitchen flooring. No accounting for taste I guess. 5. In general, the hardware in the units doesn’t seem quite as nice as Montage. 6. Subway next door. Sinks up the parking garage and guest entrance. Overall, I would live in the Palladio and may still. I think I’ll try the Montage first and if that is a let-down for some reason, Palladio is my second choice. Given that they are just 2 blocks apart, there isn’t much difference in accessibility. it mainly comes down to amenities and view. Although… if you need to get to The Chocolate Bar in a hurry, it’s right across the street from Palladio!
