I should have known when they had 3 people in line at 6pm on food truck friday… when a six year old calls cheese pizza the worst thing she’s ever eaten, it’s not a good sign. Unfortunately my daughter was not in a picky mood. this was just bad pizza and wayyyyyy expensive.

It’s been a couple years since my first taste of St. Lawrence Pizza, and they’ve earned another star. I purchased a slice of pepperoni & cheese at a recent food truck gathering, and it was definitely better than what I was served in 2012. The crust still isn’t as crispy as it ought to be, which tells me they’re either not getting that wood-fired oven hot enough, or, they’re pulling the pie a bit too soon. At least it was a little browned on the bottom, instead of the pale doughy mess from before. A definite improvement, if not awe-inspiring. The sauce is still bland and boring. Again, maybe I just have overly-high expectations for«gourmet pizza». I couldn’t detect any garlic, basil, oregano, onion, pepper, or even salt, even though I’d assume they must be in there since they’re calling this«pizza sauce». Still, it wasn’t as sweet as most canned sauces, so maybe the chef is just very cautious about the use of spices & herbs. Either way, a less picky pizza eater would probably be just fine with this stuff. Children probably like it, as well as people who think of ketchup as a spicy condiment. The menu declares their fare to be, «the best pizza you’ll ever taste!» It is considerably better than most chain pizza(Domino’s, Little Caesar’s) but the best pizza you’ll ever taste? Only if you never taste any other pizza. Bonus points for covering their previously stark-white trailer with an attractive vehicle wrap. Definitely more inviting when compared against several other food trucks at an event. They are making progress, so let’s hope that trend continues.

I stopped by this place because I saw it on my way to work. Reasonable prices. The«White Pizza» was surprisingly not as good as plain ol’ pepperoni. Large slices.
