Karaōke night this Friday so went in. I was hungry so I ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich on sourdough, possibly the worst sandwich ever and the fry were limp and raw.

My buddies hung out here from time to time. Not a bad place if you just want to play darts, watch some sports on tv, eat after hours food like French fries and burgers etc. It is a smoking bar so you can’t take kids in here. If you don’t smoke probably not a place for you. But not a bad place to hang out at after going out in town and painting it red. Staff was pretty friendly and easy parking. This is a place to go if you don’t want the drama from the downtown area. It’s pretty easy going here. Plus, usually not a big crowd during the weekends because it’s not in downtown. Thanks for reading my review.

This place stinks and sucks! Period! Close it up already. Lunch here 8 years ago was good. Now it’s not even a good place to go after you’ve been out all night and need a last call when your a smoker even.

We used to go out every Friday and Saturday night. It was usually Flowing Tide, but every now and then, we’d stop in Sneaker’s for a less drama-filled night. Sneaker’s is very much a regulars’ spot, still evident now that we only stop in every couple of months. Sneaker’s has never been my favorite place, but it was the people that always drew me in. The bartenders change quickly here. Some have been great, but they’ve just moved on to other things. Others have been terrible — like blaming you for running your car into someone else’s(this caused us not to come here for at least 6 months until we were sure this bartender no longer worked here — she was just flat out the rudest bartender I’ve ever experienced). Besides the bartenders, there’s pool, darts, the TouchTunes jukebox — plenty to keep you entertained. This is a smoking bar — so if you’re sensitive to that, this probably is not the place for you.

I struggled giving 4 stars. It could be three depending on the smoke levels while you’re there. The food is consistently excellent and the service, generally from a single bartender/waitress, always top notch. The burgers and wraps are great but the smoke and the odor, hard to take. The place is clean and the sports bar atmosphere up to par. I know that smokers have a right to eat somewhere but could they please pick a place with poor food.

After years of having lunch at Sneakers, I stopped. The smoke is more than I can handle.

Great food, atmosphere. and they do a game called DJ Trivia on Tuesday Nights from 6:30 to 8pm. It was free, fun and I knew more than I thought about pop culture! It’s a team based game with prizes for first, second and third place teams. Check it out!

Unilocal says 2 stars is «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» That’s an accurate take from my perspective. I had a burger, it was meh. $ 3.50 for a pint of coors light + $ 1.00 for a splash of clamato just seems a little excessive for this place which meets dive bar criteria between(lack of) upkeep and cigarette smoke.

We’d heard that this place has a decent burger, so after my wife & I moved into the neighborhood we decided to try it out. I didn’t have super high expectations, being that it’s just a smallish sports bar with a basic menu, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered a blue cheese bacon burger w/fries, and my wife ordered the standard cheeseburger w/fries. The burgers were pretty damn good! Definitely on the top scale of burgers I’ve tried in Reno. The fries were average … not bad, not amazing, just good enough to hang out with that great burger. So, the food was REALLY good … why haven’t we been back? In a word, SMOKE. Look, as a former smoker(quit in Spring 2001), I totally get that smokers need a place to hang out and be comfy. However, since the legislature modified the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act to allow«adults only» establishments to serve food along with cigarette smoke, I’ve pretty much written off any place that chooses to mix food with smoke. I still enjoy a couple cigars a year, but not when I’m eating. Still, I do remember how blissful it was to complete a good meal and then light up my nicotine fix. If cigarettes didn’t affect my health, my voice, and my body odor(oh man, smokers have no idea how bad they smell. I certainly didn’t!), I’d still smoke ‘em. I’m just no longer part of that club. So, the burger was REALLY good, and if you’re immune to an establishment that reeks of cigarette smoke and you love a great burger, I definitely recommend the place. Unfortunately, I’m just no longer able to enjoy my food when I feel like I’m eating it out of an ashtray. Being that Nevada has the 9th highest rate of tobacco smokers in the nation, I’m guessing Sneakers will do juuuuuuuuuuust fine without my whiny ex-smoker self. :)

I visited Sneakers Bar and Grill on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere in Sneakers is nothing special; it’s a sports bar so there some sports memorabilia around the joint and a few TV’s. The special of the day when I visited was a cheeseburger and fries for $ 5 which is a great deal. My friend ordered the cheeseburger and I ordered a Turkey, bacon, Swiss melt with a side salad instead of fries for $ 9.95. The burger was really big and tasted good; albeit it was nothing super special but it was great food for the price. My melt was good and the salad was ok. There was a small error of giving me blue cheese dressing instead of ranch but that was cleared up in a minute. The waitress was really good and never left us waiting for anything; great service here! The one thing I was really curious about was how this place gets away with allowing smoking in their establishment. I’m not really fussy about smokers as some people are, it’s just that I thought Nevada had a law about smoking in a place food is served. Overall the meal was ok, the service was great, and the ambiance was so-so. The best reason to go here is for their daily specials because it is a great deal. This is an awesome place to go for some low key cheap drinks and friendly service. The food is pretty decent bar fare, the prices are good and everyone that works there is really attentive. They give great gaming comps too! I would come here over Bully’s or Sparky’s anyday.

The place has quite possibly the best hamburgers I’ve ever had in Reno! I eat out alot and this bar hands down has the best!(the awful awful is sti the best, sorry sneakers) The staff are snarky and funny. The other customers are all locals who all know eachother which is part of the appeal to this place! I felt like a long tiime friend to those of whom I dined with. The bar has gaming machines in it, which I’ve never been a big fan of. But they have these cool tables that fit over the machines to make eating less ackward. All in all I will be a long time customer here!
