The ladies at Sips are always so helpful, remember your name and know your preferences. I love the coffee, the pastries and bagels are super fresh and delicious and they always have cute things for sale in the cubbies. The service is quick, the prices are just right and nothing beats a fresh cup of coffee in the morning with a smile!

I like this coffee shop area of Silver Legacy casino and it is my first choice to go to in the mornings! Yep, walked all the way from El Dorado too… Believe me, I drink a lot of coffee because in a 2 day period I went to Millie’s at El Dorado, Starbucks at SL, Sips, and also got complimentary coffee on the floor from the beverage servers while I was playing slot machines! I am sure I was over caffeinated lol. I really like Sips because I get my drinks free with my Player’s card points/comps! The coffee is great and service is great. I enjoy sitting there in the quiet morning drinking coffee before breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful, plus they always have everything fully stocked. I love their pastry display case, everything looks so delicious! I must go at the right time because I’ve had all positive experiences ;)

Mediocre. The only good thing about this place is that it’s convenient for those who are looking for coffee close to their hotel rooms after a night of drinking/gambling. The ladies who were working at the register/behind the counter were rude and impatient. If you order a pastry, don’t expect it to be warmed. I had a donut and it was cold and a bit dry. I also had an iced vanilla latte. I didn’t really taste the vanilla or the coffee, it was just really sweet. Tip: Walk a little further and go to the Starbucks downstairs. At least you’ll get better customer service and a consistent drink.

I stay at Silver Legacy a few times a year — I’m an early riser and the wife likes to sleep in so I hit Sips to get a coffee to take with me down to the casino floor to play some video poker. Plain coffee is just ok — nothing special. Service is always quick and friendly

Date: Saturday, March 2, 2013 Time: Approximately 1930 Hours Me: I would like to order a Medium Soy Latte, please Barista:(Filipino worker in his mid 30’s) Gestures his hand on the three sizes of cups(Small, Medium and Large) in front of the counter and asked, «What size?» Wifey and I looks at each other and simultaneously reply, «Medium» as we glance back at each other with rolled eyes. The coffee was decent and did it’s job. I stayed awake long enough for me to enjoy the rest of the evening. The following day… Date: Sunday, March 3, 2013 Time: Approximately 1600 Hours I felt groggy and the task of driving back home seemed daunting, so I decided to get a pick-me-up before driving home. Me: I would like to order a MEDIUM Soy Latte, please. Barista:(Same Filipino worker from the previous day) Gestures his hands again like Vanna White turning letters at the three sizes of cups in front of the counter and asked, «What size?» Are you f*cking kidding me? Aren’t you listening or do you just like waving your hands at those cups like a Drag Queen? Of course, I didn’t say this out loud, but I kindly replied, «Meeediuuuummm, please!» I got my cup and it did its job. As for this place… I’ll give it a medium. (Located inside Silver Legacy)

Nice little coffee shop just down stairs from the hotel rooms that can save you a ton of money, rather than getting room service. Pastries seem fresh, the apple fritter was great! I also got a peach tea and got out of there only spending $ 5, not bad.

Best dark chocolate mocha latte ever! I haven’t found a place that can compare. The latte truly tasted like dark chocolate, not milk chocolate and was just the perfect sweet as to not take away from the dark chocolate taste. The latte was a dark chocolate candy bar that melted in your mouth. Mmmmm :)

Good latte. It’s a little more expensive than Starbucks but it was convenient since I was staying there. No need to go trolling into downtown Reno for a latte.

Man this place saved my @$$! I needed to wake/sober up quickly and Sips came through. A buck and change for a small cup o’ joe. Good and fast service.

Word of warning: This review is based only on a single product, and not the overall place. However, the experience was memorable enough to review. I ordered hot water. That’s all I did. I just needed a cup of hot water to make some tea. Most places like Starbucks have pretty crappy tea, so I tend to bring my own and just ask for a cup of hot water. Never have I had to pay for one, until now. Sure it cost me just 75 cents, and most people reading this will think I’m the cheapest Jew in the world, but it’s the mentality that’s important here. I understand that the cost is probably not for the water, but for the cup. However, this place is bustling with people needing their coffee fix for a day full of gambling. I’m sure they make enough money that they can just not bother charging for a cup of hot water. Having said that, the workers here are pretty nice, people seem to enjoy it, and the only time it’s closed is 3 – 4 am. Perfect for the late night gamblers or the early risers. I just wish they were like any other normal coffee place and wouldn’t charge for water.
