I’ve been to this twice. I’ve bought tickets a few other times but we’ve had to cancel because my daughters soccer coach was ALWAYS scheduling tournaments on this weekend. So now… this one was my last one. Here is the basic rundown. You go in and a bunch of tables are set up with two dance floors. You get a little slip of paper for your«photo opportunity window». You go to either side of the room for snacks designed for toddlers and picky eaters. You dance. You take a butt load of selfies and post them to facebook or instagram or Google+ if you work for Google. Me, I post em to Unilocal! Anyway. This year the songs were pretty much the same. An odd rotation of 60’s oldies(hint, those guys don’t have kids this age) a few wedding reception party songs and then a handful of «current» hits. Thankfully the DJ gets that Father’s don’t want to dance with their daughters to Hip Hop. Not only is hip hop dancing lame… but the content is mostly inappropriate. They did the obligatory Cinderella song… but my daughter and I loved Bumping Butts in «All About that Bass». The biggest crowd pleaser was«What Does the Fox Say?» There is an unexciting raffle with a few ok gifts. So yeah, the food is sorta sad and so are the activities… but the real reason to go is to just enjoy the company of your daughter and dance! And that we did! Then we hit up some classic arcade games at the Peppermill.
