It took almost 4 months to get an appointment. By then, my skin problem was gone.(I had tried other dermatologists but they either did not take Medicare or had no appointments available.) So after waiting, I decided to go to the appointment even though I no longer had the problem. I thought I might have an easier time getting in if I were an established patient, rather than a new one. The visit was a bit odd, because the doctor called me later to explain that a previous skin problem I had had had been misdiagnosed by another doctor. OK. Thanks for the info. Not sure I needed to know since that problem was also long gone. The medicine the other doctor gave me had worked. Anyway, my complaint with this dermatologist is that I got a bill for missing an appointment I never had, an appointment that may have been with an associated cosmetic skin clinic.(?) I called the office, wrote a letter, called there again and the billing office. I got no reply to my letter, but the bills continue. I think this could be a scam that has nothing to do with the dermatology practice, or it could be an incompetent billing service. At any rate, I cannot seem to get the incorrect bill cancelled. I suppose a lot of people would just pay the $ 35 for missing an appointment they never had. I will not. All around an odd, non-patient centered experience.
