I may be moving to Reno soon, and I thought I’d check out options for furniture. But or rent or rent to own … so many options. So I checked out what they had in here. You can rent almost anything you need. You just have to be careful to read the fine print as to the restrictions and conditions. I didn’t see anything I really need right now, but it’s good to get prices and options as to what’s out there. I may just rent or get a place that has furniture before I know things will work out with the move. The help seemed OK, no high pressure since I haven’t even moved yet. As I walked out back to the car I noticed Sakana Sushi from west Reno is opening a new location here. Business must be good I guess. Reno loves it’s sushi!

I used to love rent a center, I had always had a positive experience, recently I stopped making payments, and they reposed my items. My reasoning wasn’t because i had lost my job and wasn’t able to make my payments, my husbands job would have covered the payments, it was the fact that my husband gets paid on Tuesdays and they said they couldn’t take payments on Tuesdays that I would have to pay extra to make it so our payments made it to Saturdays, or if I paid on tuesdays I would have had to pay a late fee. I have also discovered that if you rent more than one item, no matter what time you go in during the month to rent those items your payments are lumped into one so you’re not paying down one individual item, so say you rented an Xbox, a computer and maybe a living room set and you had been making payments for over a year and you want find out how much is left on your xbox because you want to pay it off, you’ll find the balance of your xbox hasn’t gone down, that you will still owe over the value of the xbox. When I allowed them in to remove the items, a couple of items were to large to fit through my front door, so instead of taking the items through the sliding glass door where they would have fit, they took it upon themselves to remove my front door from its hinges, and then proceeded to drag the items through my narrow front door ripping the door frame from the house, which caused my front door to not latch properly and not lock properly. I actually came home and found my front door wide open and my dogs missing. Luckily I was able to find my dogs and get them back. I had to hire a handyman to come to my house and redo my whole front door, when my handyman contacted rent a center in regards to the damage they had done and wanted to know how to go about billing them for the damages, they had the nerve to tell him that the house was secure and that no damage was done to my door. Luckily I have before rent a center and after rent a center pictures of my front door. Say you can no longer pay for that computer so you return it, you can’t apply the paid balance to any other item you are currently renting, instead they send you a coupon in the mail to come in and take a month off on a new item and a new contract. So in reality, they’re setting you up for failure. They’re a horrible company and I would recommend not ever renting anything from them. I actually did some research on their competitor Aaron’s and Aaron’s is a lot less expensive and their furniture feels much sturdier.
