Had a great time here this evening! Unexpectedly ran into a neighbor and had a nice visit. Free popcorn. Excellent happy hour prices! Don’t be afraid… come on in! The waters nice!

Don’t mess with Brooke on Tuesdays! I mean it! What? You still wanna see for yourself? Go ahead. I dare ya! Brooke is one tough cookie, with the fortitude and spirit that helped win the west, but that’s just on the outside. She’s really a great bartender with a spitfire personality that is so fitting of a place like the Olé Tyme Saloon.
My buddy and I came to Olé Tyme Saloon as part of our 2014 tradition, New Bar Tuesdays! Our goal is to check-​out the bars and pubs in those under explored corners of Reno-​Sparks that too often get passed by the general public. These bars hold some real characters, like Brooke, and we want to meet them, so we head out on a mission every Tuesday.
Truth be told, I’d been to Olé Tyme before, but about 7 years ago. They hosted a motorcycle ride to honor a friend and client of mine at the Muscular Dystrophy Association. They were great people then, and are clearly great people now.
No, you’re not going to find craft beer and fancy cocktails here, so come in with the right expectations. What you will find is decent bottle selection, proud American traditions on tap, a sassy bartender, colorful customers, and AYCE free popcorn! While I can’t say this will be my regular watering hole, this spot is a lot of fun, and I would certainly add it to the list of places I like to drink and hang out in Reno.

Great neighborhood bar. Drinks are amazing and cheap. Highly recommended to all the people who live in the area.
