Pre Surgery: Broke my cheekbone and was referred to Dr. Ludlow through St. Mary’s emergency room. I was not given options as to the different outcomes of getting or not getting this surgery either physical or cosmetic. The technical term was an open reduction of my zygomatic arch.
Post surgery: I was very limited in opening my mouth and he called me a tough patient and told me it was just swelling. After the surgery, I learned from another doctor he uses out-​of-​date methods, and the surgery could have been much simpler. He ordered another scan of his work. He told me the post scan «looks and feels good», but I’m not feeling good, being physically unable to open my mouth. He sent me on my way with a prescription for Norco and physical therapy and a good luck attitude.
Now 6 weeks out of surgery my mouth cannot open more than 50% of what it was.
This is the second surgery done by him. The first one on my broken jaw was fine.
