This place is ok. They are open 24 hours. I order a super burrito. It’s big yeah but half my burrito was a salad. That’s why I put 3 stars. I’m try there regular burrito next time around. But still pretty good spot that’s open 24⁄7.

I would rate this restaurant ½ a star if I could! I am Mexican and I can’t believe we are eating this fucking garbage! I wouldn’t feed my dog this food!!! Tonight was the last straw for me. I ordered nachos with meat and al pastor tacos and steak tacos and they were flavorless and watery like they steam or boil their meat. I am not impressed at all. Even Roberto’s has better food than this rotten joint! And yes shame on me for ever giving them a third shot. This definitely ends tonight. I feel sorry for people that don’t know great food. Smh…

Working on an ambulance for 16hrs a day there is only so much food you can pack. So now what do you do? It is a Friday night around 8pm and you want something amazing that is not fast food. Then it comes to me, La Michoacana. You can’t go wrong with their carne asada tacos. As my partner and I walked into the place it is jamming like always. Why wouldn’t it be? Their whole menu is outstanding. From their burritos to there quesadilla and everything in between. As we walked in there was approx. eight people in front of us. As my partner and I debated if we should roll the dice and try and get food or not. After the day we had, the odds have not been in our favor. Then a gentleman from behind the counter walked around and headed our way. He asked us if he could take our order so all we would have to do is pay when we got to the counter. I went with the tacos and my partner went with flautas. We made it to the counter and paid for our food. As we walked over to the salsa bar, they were already bagging our food. Their green salsa has just the right heat and you can’t go wrong with their pickled jalapeño and carrots. They called our number and we got our food. As we were walking out to the ambulance, we hear, «medic 36 we’re taking traffic». If it wasn’t for the thoughtfulness of the man who came and took our order, we would have never gotten to eat. Thank you for going above and beyond for the excellent service. Even though we don’t get to eat right away, we know we have amazing food waiting for us.

Ah, the late night food craving… It’s so nice to find a place that is open late and is not fast food. The restaurant is pretty bare bones and kind of reminds me of a cafeteria. The pictures of the menu items are discolored from being displayed for way too long, not that that has any reflection on the quality of food, it just really stood out to me for some reason. I guess basically what I am saying is this place majorly lacks in atmosphere, but I guess you’re not really there for that. We decided on the wet burrito to share. There are a couple of options for the type of meat; we chose carne asada. Along with the burrito, we got an order of chips and salsa. Our food was ready to pick up pretty quickly. The serving of chips was huge. I wasn’t a fan of the salsa, which is completely smooth, but this might just be a personal preference. Sharing the burrito was a good choice; it really is big enough to serve two people, especially with the side of chips. The red sauce that the burrito is topped with has a really tin-like flavor which was really off putting, but the fillings inside were much better. Overall, a passable late night meal. I had no idea this place existed until recently, so I foresee some more trips here in the future, I just might stay away from the wet burritos and salsa…

Finally a place in Reno where you can get some good food to eat for a reasonable price. Atmosphere is casual, which I like. The portions are somewhat small but the food is cheap so I always get a couple things and I can eat enough. The service has been good. The food is pretty fast and the cashier was nice. I didn’t like the guacamole. When I pay for chips and guacamole, I want to eat avocado. That is what I am paying for. The guacamole was not avocado. It was a green mix of some other stuff that had a little bit of avocado in it.

I used to love eating here, I have been dining at La Michocana, when they used to be next to Denny’s on Plumb Lane, so I am as old school as you can get with this place. My problem with this place is the employees rip you off on the food, they don’t give you a decent portion, and seriously undercut the meat and value. You basically get a couple pieces of very small cubes of meat if you order an asada burrito, and everyone in a while one made with a fair amount of meat. So I was over getting terribly made burritos, so I would order the beans and cheese burrito, which was usually large and well done, then towards the end, they would give me one that looked like a kids’ mini burrito. This happened a couple of times, and then I was done. Since, I was over the place for lunch and dinner, I would still get the breakfast burritos, for $ 1.99. These are okay, if that’s all you want, again, you can get something tiny or decent size, no consistency(as with all their burritos), but at $ 1.99, I have a little more value forgiveness than I do at $ 6 burrito. So one of the nice things about this burrito is you can add any meat for $ 1, which done right is as solid it comes! 3x I went in, and they told me they were out of eggs, so I didn’t go back forever. I would see the owner, who would complain they needed more business too. I just don’t get it, eggs are cheap, and you can buy racks of them at Costco. If you run out, go to the store when you are done to 2 dozen and buy more, you should never run out of food and turn business away. The only reason I went today, is a co-worker mentioned she likes the restaurant, and that the owner was involved with running it again, so I thought I would give it another chance after so many terrible experiences and SUPER slow service on all my previous visits. If he’s there, it seems to run the way it should, so I went today, got 3 asada breakfast burritos was very friendly to male cashier. He also was the chef, I asked for the owner, because we usually chat, he wasn’t there. I tipped, and I received 3 asada burritos in a pretty speedy time. I got to work, handed out 2 burritos and then dug into mine. Again, I think there was 4 – 5 very small pieces of asada. It was mostly rice and beans. It’s just not a place that I give my $$ when they rip me off and treat their customers like they don’t care or want you to come back. There’s no way they would make that burrito for themselves or serve it to anyone they cared about. I am done with the place, and I really wanted to have an old favorite come back to life as I live right next to it. I think the employees sabotage the place, and I wish the owner, would realize that how they treat people(when he’s not there) is why they don’t have the business and customers, because when you are not treated fairly, most people just don’t return, and I will be one of them again!

Taqueria La Michoacana has been hidden in plain sight from me for more than a decade. By that I mean I knew there was a Mexican place in the same shopping center as a certain popular chain Italian restaurant, but I didn’t realize it was open 24 hours until just recently. After my first visit I have to say I’d probably need to be drunk in order to eat in that dining room. Not that it was completely terrible, but it’s a tad more ramshackle than I’d expected. The room seems too big for the amount of seating provided, the furniture is shabby, and the décor – such as it is – is garish at best, grubby at worst. If you can look past what it lacks in aesthetics, the place offers reasonably good Mexican street food at cheap prices. They offer all the usual items you’ll find at other taquerias including seafood – Michoacán being a coastal state of Mexico – and a large selection of smoothies, speciality drinks, fresh-squeezed juices, desserts, and snacks. Smoothing out my reservations was the speed at which I received my order. I barely had time to jot down a couple notes before they handed me a torta lengua and quesadilla, both of which tasted pretty good in the comfort of my living room while marathoning Netflix.

Food is terrible. I’m Mexican and I have not found a spot I do not like. But I went and ate here with a friend because we were told it was good food. Issue 1. Most places have free chips and salsa. Well they charge 3 $!! for 99cent bag chips that are aweful and stale and the salsa was from a can, I could tell because I made the mistake of buying it before. They do have a salsa bar and one of the salsas was good the green tomatillo one. 2. I got a lengua burrito(cow tounge) and carne Asada tacos to try. The tacos were good not to bad, but the lengua was chewy and creamy(it’s not suppose to be that way). It only had a few pieces on top of that! and the rice on the combo plate was stale, refills are not free also found that weird. And as for my favorite customer service. I’m waiting in line to be helped(5 min) and its only me and my friend in the whole restaurant. The lady at the register was talking to the cook and he mentioned to her there was a customer she didn’t acknowledge us kept on with her story when she was done she then helped us. Don’t see this place and a MEXICAN restaurant. Only people who would eat here have no idea what good food is.

Food was delicious and I had the soft corn styled tacos asada, served with onions and cilantro and spiced-up at the salsa bar. The atmosphere or lack of it, is that of a large gaming hall dining room. An excellent place to bring the kids as they had video games and a lot of space. Service is 24 hours, and friendly. A fellow Elite Unilocaler suggested that this is more of a taco truck experience than a restaurant and I do admit to feeling that way at a certain point while eating. In the Olive Garden restaurant’s strip mall near Mc Donald’s.

I almost vomited while writing this review, talk about unsanitary the dining area is pretty dirty I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. The staff is relatively friendly but I have nightmares about the food here. Since it’s open 24 hr a day it gets super packed at 3 am on fridays and saturdays you know drunks will eat anything.

This place is No Bueno. The food quality is poor, the place is filthy, and the salsa is no good. I checked this place out late one night because it was one of the only mexican places open in South Reno, amd boy was I disappointed. We ordered tacos de asada and a burrito with carnitas and we didn’t finish either of them.

I really enjoy the food here tacos! OMG amazing, beer is of course over priced 4.00 for a coors light? But that’s all right, the sauce on the wet burritos needs some more seasonings, but I went here yesterday and when I was eating my scrumptious taco, I bit into something hard, assumed it was just some burnt meat took it out of my mouth and yes in fact it was, it still startled me. But the thing that bothers me the most is the cleanliness of the place. Flies all in the windows, and when I left I had a rash on my neck like in the shape if California? WTF! they must have fleas or bed bugs, but they definitely need to shut down at least 2 – 3 hours to CLEAN their eating areas!

It’s so hard to find an authentic taqueria in this city, but this place got it right! The price is not bad, considering what you get, seeing how huge the portions are. The food is some of the best I’ve had in this city, and their horchata is to die for! I’d go back anytime, especially because it’s open 24 hours. Everyone needs to go here for their Mexican food fix, especially if you’re from California, this place will remind you of home!

Their food tasted very authentic. The tacos were fantastic. The restaurant could have been a little bit cleaner but it wasn’t a major issue. Food was served on paper plates. I would still go back the food was amazing and it was fair priced compared to other authentic Mexican restaurants.

My friend Robin and I wanted tacos, and thought we would give this place a try. Based on other reviews, I knew what we were walking into… so I was a little bothered by how much trash was around on the floor. HOWEVER, the place smelled really good, and there was a large amount of Hispanic people there… this screams at me that the food must be authentic and good. The ladies running the place were really nice and full of smiles. The food came out and we got our salsa and pickled carrots to go with them. I tried Robins carne asada, pretty good! My El Pastor was tasty, the rice was good, but honestly the refried beans were the star. I could tell they were homemade, the RIGHT way… with lard. OMG! Sooo simple but good! The guacamole was good too, though the chips are from a bag, store bought. If you’re looking for a fancy restaurant this isn’t the place. If you’re looking for good, cheap fresh but fast food, they do nicely! :-)
