Dr. Kressler is one of my personal heroes in Reno. Last year, I broke my fifth metatarsal on my right foot. The break was borderline between a Jones Fracture(I know, the irony) or just a regular break. The difference here is that a Jones Fracture almost never heals correctly and it takes months and months to heal at all. After a trip to urgent care to get the verdict that my purple blue foot was in fact broken, I was referred to ROC. The doctor there was going to put me in a hard cast up to my thigh for three months(you read that right, three months, at least). Naturally, I wanted a second opinion since that would have just plain sucked. Our house was two stories, it’s my driving foot, I’m one of those stubborn independent types, etc. I went to see Dr. Kressler to get the opinion of a podiatrist versus an orthopedic surgeon. He said the fracture was close to a Jones fracture but not quite. And that I could keep my foot in a boot to my knee as long as I didn’t walk on it for three weeks. Then I could lose the crutches and walk with the boot until it healed completely. The break happened on September 14th and I was allowed to remove the boot completely on November 26th. If I had gone with ROC’s idea, I would have still been in a hard cast and just plain cranky. I need to have a few procedures for other issues with my foot that are not related to the break, and Dr. Kressler is the guy I want to do them. He takes his time explaining everything to you and answering all of your questions. I have never felt rushed when I’m in the office and his staff is very friendly too.
